Oh baby!

This past weekend me and 2 friends were the hostesses of a baby shower for a very dear friend of ours. We did everything: from invitation to food to clean up after the party. It was lovely and we had a wonderful time celebrating her new baby. I did make few extra baby cards and got on the mode for baby cards.

Then I continued working on that since the Sweet Lil' Thing DSP is simply lovely and has called my name several times over. I picked up the challenge for the Pals Paper Players challenge 262 for this card and the color combo is just perfect for a baby card. The clouds on the paper are so beautiful and peaceful that I chose the elephant image from the Zoo Baby stamp set as I see elephants as very peaceful animals. The sentiment is from the now retired Little Banners but it fits so well with the card. The Deco Labels framelit fit the image with perfection and I followed it up with a layer and I also snipped a second image of the elephant to use the ears and give a bit of a lift. A touch of ribbon and this card is sure to please a mother-to-be.

Please don't go!


I beg you to stay.. But, go they will. I grew accustomed to several of the product that are retiring this year. I do not like to see them go, but new product will take their places and we will continue to create beautiful works of art.

Without further ado, and with the Dostamper Stars challenge 131, let's look back at couple product that will be officially retired as of June 2nd. The Itty Banners stamp set along with its framelits are going to take its leave and so will the beautiful Flashback DSP. I did have to prepare a Thank you card for those two, as they were part of many projects and have been well loved around here. Now, I bid you two farewell and you will not be forgotten.

Happy Big Day.

Well, considering that my head is still stuck on a vice, I decided that it is time for this congestion to take a leave once and for all. A retirement card seems like the perfect order of the day.

The sketch from the Dostamper Stars Challenge 124 is my background for this card. I think it is a happy day when one finally retires, and still be able to enjoy lots of what life has to offer. The DSP selected is the Flashback, which seems appropriate to me. The image is from the Chalk Talk and the sentiment from And Many More. The bow adds the special touch and is easily knotted using My Bow Maker. I love making bows, single, double, you name it, my little device will make it. You can get My Bow Maker for free with your qualifying order. Now, that is a Happy Day!

Please, not again.

Well, the weather took a rather nice turn and brought us sunshine and above freezing temperatures all week long. All snow has melted and I even took the time to do some basic maintenance to my garden. I sure hope the temperatures remain so, and the sun continues to shine bright.




However, I started feeling a bit ill again. Last time I felt this way I ended up with a nasty sinus infection along with a cough that lasted two months. I am taking this serious now and using some essentials oils and vitamins and resting. So, I did prepare this card two days ago, but honestly was busy with club night and did have much energy for anything else. Since when I made I was already feeling like something was coming up, I decided on a Get Well card. The sketch is from the Freshly Made Sketch challenge 177, and the color combination is from the Pals Paper Arts challenge 243. I went for a simple look with a small Petite Petals stamp set and punch. The Finishing Touches Edgelits is ever so delicate that deserved a place on this card. I feel better just by looking at it.

Swirly Thank you

This morning, for the first time in months I heard birds singing. That's the way to wake up, and for that I am thankful. I love to hear the sounds Spring brings and I am certainly looking forward to much more soon, very soon.

Spring, thank you for start appearing around here. I made this card using the retired Baroque Motifs stamp set, since it sets such a great vine background for flowers. The sketch is from the Retrosketch challenge 152 and the colors are from the Pals Paper Arts challenge 238. The colors go very well together and with my choice of stamps, embellishing this Thank you card was a snap using the Boho Blossom punch, the now retired Itty Bitty shapes punch set, and the wide ribbon, also retired. I love to have those retired items!

A bit of summer, please.

Well, after a wonderful vacation with my family, I am back and I feel invigorated. With most of the mundane chores done, I head down to my craft room to put those new inspirations into proper use.

I decided to pull out the Summer Silhouettes stamp set since I have not used it in a while and I like it a lot. For the paper, I chose the Subtles DSP stack and think it turned out a very good all occasion card. The sketch is from the Pals Paper Arts challenge 236, which was a delight to work with and a sure CAS sketch.

For you cupcake!

I have several friends that celebrate their birthdays in December. The biggest struggle with that is to have a birthday separated from the Holidays. I am not a December child, but shared my birthday with my older sister, whose birthday is only 5 days after mine. As a child, I did not appreciate that. Little I knew, the day would come when I would miss sharing my cake with my sister.

So, if your birthday is in December, please make room to celebrate it to the fullest and enjoy every bit of it. Today's card is inspired by the Dostamper Stars challenge 112, and since I have neglect my current supplies in lieu of the new Occasions and Sale-A-Bration products, today I used only products from the current Annual catalog. The Sketched Birthday stamp set is too cute and added the perfect sentiment for this card. 2015 Catalog Transition
As the end of the year approaches, many of you have been asking questions about the new catalog. So, here is a quick reference to help you.
  • 2014 Holiday Catalog: Ends January 5
  • 2015 Occasions Catalog: Starts January 6 - ends June 2
  • 2015 Sale-a-Bration Brochure: Starts January 6 - ends March 31
If you're an active customer with me, your Occasions Catalog and SAB Brochure should be arriving in your mailbox soon (some have already arrived).  Let me just say..."You won't be disappointed!"
As you browse through the 2015 Occasions Catalog, you'll find that a handful of products from the 2014 Holiday Catalog are being featured (in addition to those found on page 49).  However, most will "disappear".

A very happy birthday.


 

Sometimes I just have  a moment when I need to color. Pencil coloring, crayons, or anything that will bring color to my work. And today I did just that. I pulled out some pencils and got happy.

The sketch is from the Try Stampin' on Tuesday Challenge 189. The Simply Sketched stamp set gave me the image and sentiment and the beautiful Flashback DSP completed the looks. A bit of pencil coloring and the card is completed. Who will get such a happy birthday card?

Congratulations!

Well, other than the announcement for the Blog Candy winner, here is Congratulations card I prepare to celebrate that.

I truly love the World of Dreams stamp set! It was used here for the entry on the Pals Paper Arts challenge 221. The Bordering Blooms stamp set was also called into action to add this special little detail to the card. So, did you like it?

Tips & Tricks:
  • To get the squares, I stamped the image in a piece of Whisper White and then just punched the images out. The Postage Stamp punch was handy to give a delicate background.

CQC 240 & FMS 135 - Cup Cake Builder

Hello Everyone!

          

What? A stamping post that involves no stamps? You read it right, no stamp on this post. Today I decided that I was going to use the Cupcake Builder punch, which can speaks to itself on the card. I use the color combo from ColourQ challenge and the sketch from Freshly Made Sketch to highlight the Cup Cake and have the perfect card for a wonderful little girl! What do you think? Tips & Tricks:
  • The top of the cupcake was sponged with the Strawberry Slush ink.
  • The DSP and the front panel were put together first, the ribbon came next and then it was all adhered to the card base. This way the ribbon folds on the back of the DSP fro a clean finish.
