An elegant celebration.

I know that Thanksgiving is just tomorrow and with that, plenty to think about it and to be thankful for. It is ideal to have this time to reflect about life in general, and remember all the pieces that make us whole. For those of us married, we know that there is plenty to celebrate, ponder, and to be thankful for.

And a wedding card it is today to be entered at the Mojo Monday challenge 425. That beautiful Timeless Elegance DSP is absolutely perfect for a wedding or anniversary card, don't you think? I heat embossed the sentiment from the Label Love stamp set in black to give an extra touch of elegance. And with all the Online Extravaganza going on and all the pretty ribbons with super discounted prices, I add a touch of it with the most perfect bow. You can get your one of My Bow Maker for free with your $50.00 purchase (before taxes and shipping).

I wish you all a happy and blessed thanksgiving. I look forward to seeing you again soon. Be well

Color me up.

PPA276 http://www.createwithconnieandmary.com/.a/6a01310fc1b623970c01bb08835e0a970d-pi

Well, that was the end of our long October. We woke up to a white world all around us, but it appears that we may get a break and have it all go away by the end of next week. The temperature will climb just enough to hopefully get rid of it all. A bit too soon to have all the whiteness.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, ppa, ccmc, all occasions card, bohemian dsp, butterfly basics bundle, big shot, bold butterfly framelits.

How about a bit of color then? I agree! I got the colors idea from the CCMC challenge 382 and the sketch from Pals Paper Arts challenge 276. I thought the combination rather unusual, and went for just a bit of the Elegant Eggplant, while lavishing on the Island Indigo. I like the fern touch on the corner and that was stamped in Delightful Dijon. The Butterfly Basics stamp set was the set for the image used. The butterflies were cut from both the Bold Butterfly and Butterflies Thinlits and they were all I needed. A sentiment? Well, I feel that this card can be used for many occasions, so I want to keep it that way.

Thank you so much for visiting today. Remember to check grab your favorites at the Online Extravaganza starting tomorrow! I am super excited and can hardly wait. I know some items will go fast, so plan on an early shopping! Be well

A what? Oh, Acorn!

As you know, I homeschool my children, and my youngest, whom is 5 y.o. has now discovered the joy of reading. He does very well with numbers, but letters came a bit later for him. He tries to read everything these days and the happiness and pure joy on his face when he reads a word, is completely priceless.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, thank you, color me autumn, big shot, lots of labels framelits, su

Today's post is not about teaching literacy, but about acorns. Have you seen the inspiration from Dostamper Stars challenge 158? I have been busy with fall things, such as apple sauce making - made 4 gallons this week - yard work, garden work, planting garlic, closing pool, and the list goes on. I have had little time to play, but have been busy, nonetheless. For today's card, I visit my stash and got the Color me Autumn DSP out, and also use the retired stamp set. The sentiment was cut with the new Lots of Labels, but I cut part of it, as I did not want a lot of blank space. Since Thanksgiving is upon us, I want to make a thank you card and use this time to thank all of you who visit and support me throughout the year.  I hope you will continue to visit and I hope that I can continue to provide inspiration to you all. Thank you. Be well

HBD 2 U

This week, as I worked on my basement and got some stuff that need to find a new home, I got my hand rammed on the door knob and the pain was absolutely excruciating. I tended to my hand immediately with ice and I could not even feel the cold of the ice pack. My husband got me some sports tape and that kept the hand from becoming completely black and blue. I am glad to say that the ice, the tape, and essential oils took care of my hand and I am now pain free.

I am mostly done with moving stuff and re-arranging the basement, and find it a bit difficult to be creative when there is some disorder around me. Nonetheless I was able to prepare a card for today's challenge. I almost completed the card without any stamp, but the white was too white, and I used the Gorgeous Grunge to break a bit of it with the Daffodil Delight ink pad. I stamped the streak stamp one time on the horizontal and then on the vertical until all the area was covered.  The stripes in Pacific Point was adhered into place prior to cutting the letters and I wish for a colorful background. Then I cut the "2" and "D" on Whisper White before adhering it to the Pacific Point layer. This would be the perfect card for a young gentleman celebrating another great year.

Thank you for visiting today. I appreciate you stopping by and invite you to visit other Dostamper Stars to get more inspiration. Be well

Miriam

Peace and serenity.

Hello my lovely readers,

Despite me being quiet the past few days, I guarantee to you that I was rather busy. I was at a local craft show on Sunday but last week, Saturday, and yesterday I have been helping my husband finish up putting a piece of dry wall and lights in our basement. A pipe was leaking and we did not know until it made a bubble in the ceiling. It got all fixed up and I have couple more light in what used to be a dark corner.

I have been also working on some commissioned work and today I want to share a card that I prepared for a lovely young lady whom play the violin at the same academy as my children.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, scenery, color me autumn dsp, moon lake stamp set, lovely as a tree, big shot, labels collection, occasions paper piercing pack, linen thread, paper piercing, su

She is a very earthy girl, whom loves the beauty of nature. Considering this, I could not do anything other than a scenery. This scenery has 3 stamps from different sets. The Moon lake stamp set provided me with the boat and the goose, but it was not enough and I need a bit more, and the Lovely as a Tree stamp set gave me just the final touch to my landscape. I sponged the land area with Old Olive and i apply a very small and gentle amount of Lost Lagoon to the lake. Everything else was colored used the Blender Pen, which I love for all my coloring application. The stripes are from the  retired Color Me Autumn DSP, but it was perfect considering the abstract and color, which contrasted nicely with the Basic Black. In all, I am rather pleased with the results and have a sense of peace and calm just by looking at this lovely scenery.... made specially for a lovely young lady.

Thank you for visiting today. Be well.

A clean birthday.

Well, this is the first few days of November and just yesterday I was outside grilling some sausage for our lunch. I stayed outside, enjoyed some rays of sun in my skin, and I am positive this is the best November ever since moving to WI. Love this beautiful and warm weather.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, birthday card, awesomely artistic, everything eleanor, a word for you, su

Other than the weather trend, I am still working on Birthday cards. I know I think I have made about 50 of them this past month alone, but the more I make it, the more ideas I get.  Today's color inspiration is from the Dostamper Stars challenge 156. I kept the card very clean and simple, going for stamp images rather then DSP. The images are from Everything Eleanor, Awesomely Artistic, and also a retired favorite A Word for You. That wide ribbon in Cherry Cobbler is also retired, but a loved one.  I started the card by first stamping the Everything Eleanor image in Crumb Cake at the left side. I placed the ribbon to have an idea where I want it to run, then I stamped the ferns from Awesomely Artistic stamp set. I could add more ferns, but the truth is that I can get carried away, so I decided to stop while still ahead. The sentiment was selected last when I knew how much space I had left. Ah, the beauty and satisfaction of less when that is more.

Thank you for visiting today. More inspiration for this challenge by other Dostamper Stars. Be well

Which month?

I am in a bliss with our current weather. The days are beautiful and even warm, at a very comfortable 70F. I saw children wearing shorts and t-shirt today, and I think we are in September or so. It is wonderful.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, sssc, birthday card, masculine card, typeset specialty DSP, simply sketched, and many more stamp set, su

Considering the temperatures, the birds are still chirping around, the plants are nice and green, the windows are open, and I still have some produce in my garden. I went to make this card for the SSSC 293 and the only set that came to mind had a bird in it... imagine why. I want a bit of interest in the back and after looking at my stash, the Typeset dsp was declared the winner. While the sentiment may look a bit on the shy side for a masculine card, I think this card can go for a guy who is not afraid of showing a bit of sensibility.

Greeting the colors and the season.

Our fall was a bit on the warmer side and I am very thankful for that. The trees gave out an spectacular sight, but the wind was too fierce and blew the leaves off all too soon. Nonetheless, we had opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the season, while at a pleasant temperature.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, pp, thank you, stippled blossoms, seasonal sayings, lovely as a tree, blender pens, su

The Paper Players challenge 269 is perfect and we all can get free inspiration by simply looking out of the window. For today's card I selected the Lovely as a Tree for the leave itself and also got a bit of the Stippled Blossom retired stamp set for a bit more of details, and the Seasonal Sayings gave the charming sentiment. This is an easy layering card that I kept clean and simple. I did color the leaves with the   pen, making sure to add a bit of Crushed Curry and a bit of Tangelo Twist to each leave, which were first stamped in Soft Suede. I like the effect of multi color in the leaves!

Thank you for visiting today. Hope to see you again soon. Be well

Miriam
