For a job well done.

Just as I thought things were back to the routine, we had a week of violin lessons that I still need to adapt to. My children now have group lessons in different days, so this week I take them to violin on Tuesday night, Wednesday afternoon, and Thursday end of the day. That combined with everything else, makes all a bit tricky and I need to get used to that new routine.

We had an spectacular weekend, but maybe that was the last weekend of summer like temperatures. We got a storm on Sunday afternoon and the air is much, much cooler and more fall like. Oh well. We did have such a beautiful summer, nonetheless. I did find a bit of time to craft and prepare a card for the Dostamper Stars 200. When I see strong, bright colors, going together, I get a bit nervous, but for me it is about making sure that no color is overpowering the card. I sued the Falling Flowers for the image, which was stamped twice in opposite directions. The sentiment is from Floral Phrases, stamped on a strip of Whisper White and placed atop the Melon Mambo ribbon, and a small bow to finish it off. And Congratulations go to all the children on the group last night. They are playing beautiful literature, at a regular tempo, still sight reading for most part, but doing a tremendous job keeping up.

Thank you for visiting today. I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to stop by and visit. Be well

Miriam

Painted and perfect

This has been a very rainy Wednesday, but we needed some rain and the plants are very happy, the birds are singing, and the temperature is not all that bad. There is still some summer left for us and we are making sure we soak in and enjoy every bit of it.

We are back to the routine after our friends left, and things are moving along nicely. There is always something extra, but I was able to set a moment aside to work on a card for the Dostamper Stars 199 using the new Penned & Painted stamp set. I love this set and the fact that I can have the colors without guessing the stamping position, makes the difference. I stamped the images at randomly on a piece of Whisper White cut to size. All the layers were adhered to Garden Green cardstock for a pop of color. The beautiful sentiment is from Butterfly Basics and it was stamped in Tangelo Twist for an extra dose of color and to match the contour of the flowers. The background is the long retired Flower Pot dsp, which I was happy to find in my stash.

Thank you so much for visiting today. Enjoy each and everyday and let's all be thankful for everything in our lives. Be well

Miriam

Nicest weekend.

Oh what a wonderful time we had this past weekend when we got to spend time with our friends that moved to Pennsylvania but got to come to WI for a long weekend. The children got to spend time together, have lots of fun, enjoy the sunny days, and just enjoy each other. What a wonderful thing is friendship.

I also got to spend time with my dear friend and enjoy her company. Have long talks, be silly, enjoy a drink together, and have a party to go with all that. Super weekend. They left Tuesday morning and we are already missing them all. I got to my craft room and prepared today's card for the Mojo Monday 466 since I could not do anything about them going back to their home. The sentiment from Picture Perfect translate very well how I feel about this friend. The Playful Background sure shows how the children spend their weekend: with lots of fun in the background and everywhere else.  The   Moonlight DSP stack lent the color scheme and it looks so playful that I just could not pass. Now I can write a nice message and send it off.

Thank you for your visit today. I hope you call again. Until then, be well.

Washi dream.

Hello my dear readers. Well, I am so pleased that I am able to spend more time teaching my children and also crafting. I homeschool them and having them home is a tremendous blessing. Not everyday is the best, but most of the days are full of glory.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, all occasions card, affectionately yours washi tape, awesomely artistic, pansy punch, white perfect accents, thick baker's twine, su

Today's card is for the Dostamper Stars 198 and the theme is Washi Tapes. It can be hard to use the tapes until you get the hang of it. The fact that they can be repositioned is a wonderful feature as the layout can be changed in a heart bit. Today I used the Affectionately Yours DWT which were added to the corners of the card, settling the color scheme. The flower was cut in Cucumber Crush and also Vellum using the Pansy punch and set on top of the Awesomely Artistic stamped image. A bit of thick baker's twine at the side makes the color of the flower pop without being overpowering and the White Perfect Accents on the center of the flower, complete the looks of this card.

Thank you for visiting today. I hope our day is filled with blessing and happiness. Be well

Miriam

Flourishing music.

The sun did not shine yesterday, but my house was bursting with music from my children. ti is almost like sunshine, except that is better.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, mm, all occasions card, big shot, petals burst tief, flourish thinlits, su

With the day being a little less bright, I went to my craft room and worked a bit. Sorted out the retired sets that I am going to put out for sale and also made cards. This one is based on MM 465 and I tried something that I have been thinking about doing. Watercolor and salt technique. I love how the effect turned out. So, what I did was to use a piece of watercolor paper, I sprayed water on the paper and using the watercolor brush added 2 tones of blue: Night of Navy and Midnight Muse. Then I sprinkled kosher salt and let it dry. You can see the areas where the salt draw moisture and the color from the paper. It is a very neat effect that I am certain to try again. Then for the panels, I did not want t flat piece of paper, so I run it through the Big Shot with the Petals Burst TIEF and then I added the Flourishing thinlit image in lieu of another panel. I debated on adding a sentiment but was not able to make piece with any, so I left it well alone and there I have another all occasions card.

Thank you for your visit today. I hope you enjoyed the project and will visit again. Be well

Miriam
