Now it is time to say good bye!

No, I am staying put, but there are a bunch of beautiful products that will be retiring at the end of May, making room for the new catalog. It is a bitter sweet moment, but one look at the new catalog and all feels better.

For today's DoStamper Stars 230 challenge, the retiring products are being showcased. My, how hard was it to decide which one to use. In the end I went for the Penneded & Painted stamped set for the background, creating my own personal DSP! Those images were stamped in Mint Macaroon and also in Delightful Dijon, both of them also retiring by the end of month.  The hummingbird is from the Picture Perfect stamp set and I did fussy cut it and add a dimensional on it for a bit more 3D effect. A pop of color from the wide Watermelon Wonder ribbon, some pearls and this card can certainly make anyone happy.

Mask it on!

Well, what happen to last week? I do not know for sure, but I do know that I caught some sort of laringytes bug that took my voice away and caused me a good bit of discomfort. I am doing better now and I am ready to get some much needed craft time.

Masks? I asked. Yes, Stampin' Up! Masks is the inspirations for today's challenge. I was a bit put off by it, but took it at stride and made the card presented today.  So, as you look at this card, the background base was prepared using the Masks. The front panel gave continuity to the "garden" theme and was stamped using the Penned & painted and I like how both panel talk to each other and both carry a designer paper feel to it. The sentiment is from the Picture Perfect set and I could not resist adding a bit of bling.

Nicest weekend.

Oh what a wonderful time we had this past weekend when we got to spend time with our friends that moved to Pennsylvania but got to come to WI for a long weekend. The children got to spend time together, have lots of fun, enjoy the sunny days, and just enjoy each other. What a wonderful thing is friendship.

I also got to spend time with my dear friend and enjoy her company. Have long talks, be silly, enjoy a drink together, and have a party to go with all that. Super weekend. They left Tuesday morning and we are already missing them all. I got to my craft room and prepared today's card for the Mojo Monday 466 since I could not do anything about them going back to their home. The sentiment from Picture Perfect translate very well how I feel about this friend. The Playful Background sure shows how the children spend their weekend: with lots of fun in the background and everywhere else.  The   Moonlight DSP stack lent the color scheme and it looks so playful that I just could not pass. Now I can write a nice message and send it off.

Dreams of love.

Oh, how nice it is to be slightly better in our routine. We still have an outside class that starts this week and that means that we have this to add to our routine. I am planning so I am not caught short, but will have to make sure I get meals prep ahead so we can all have lunch and dinner.

This week there was a class in church about family. One thing that I got our of it is that we must invest in our families with love, compassion, care, truth, and mostly time. Another thing is to not create expectations on the children that they mus be the best in everything.  When I was preparing this card for the PP312, I was thinking of all that and the sentiment from Picture Perfect jumped at me and I thought it suitable. The card, giving it is so neutral it can go as masculine or feminine, which is always a plus for me. I used the new Christmas Pines stamp set for the fern in the corner and the edges was stamped with the Playful Background along with the splashes from the Swirly Bird stamp set. A simple card as far as embellishments are concerned, but artistic in its own merits.
