Ah, the sun!

Image may contain: text

Well, I have loved this past few days when the sun has been shinning and bringing us the warmth of it. My seedlings are sitting outside and enjoying it, but a cold night claimed couple of them. As the day breaks, and the sun rises, I love and appreciate the light and colors that come with it.

The color challenge from DoStamper Stars 228 was perfect for a sunrise card. Notice how simple and little supplies were used in this card. The most work of it was sponging, but it is so soothing to do it. I mask the bottom part, but the rest of it I just sponged until I was satisfied. The only stamp set used here was the Lovely as a Tree, which I stamped twice, using the right side of the stamp on the left side of the card and then the opposite for the other side. I dabbed Wink of Stella and then add drops of glue followed by Glitter.

Hope you enjoy today's card and that you are enjoying good weather too. Spring has sprung. Be well

Miriam

Get well soon.

There has been such a wonderful weather lately, but we also have had few friends that had family or friends passing and that has been hard to see. We have few people that are ill, so I took a break from Sympathy card and made a Get Well card.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demostrator, pp, get well, pretty petals dsp, touches of texture, thoughts & prayers, penned & painted stamp set, watercolor pencil, su

It is hard to be ill, but it sure helps to receive a handmade card. I prepare today's card using The Paper Players 341 as my inspiration.  I have some lovely Pretty Petals DSP stashed away and I used that as my background. For the image, I used Touches of Texture and Penned & Painted stamp sets. Both of them are just very lovely and I am sad to see the Penned & Painted being retired. I love this set and will keep it for my personal use.  The little flowers in Daffodil Delight were colored using the Watercolor Pencils and the leaves were colored in Old Olive also using the Watercolor pencils. The sentiment is from Thoughts & Prayers stamp set. I covered part of the sentiment so I could get only the get well soon part of it. A simple card sure to bring a cheer to anyone feeling a bit down.

Thank you for visiting today. Hope to see you soon. Be well

Miriam

Thank you... for staying.

Hello everyone, I hope you had a wonderful Easter and Passover. We celebrated with my husband's family and were also able to catch some rest. On Sunday as I inspected my garden, I was greeted with 12 asparagus that will soon entertain our palate. I can hardly wait!

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, thank you, perfectly penned, floral phrases stamp set, su

I had to prepare a card that was commissioned for a Bell choir member that does a lot for the choir. I was not sure what to do, but the sketch from DoStamper Stars 227 gave me the direction. The Floral Phrases had the perfect size to go around the whole card without overlapping the image. Mind you that this is a whole size card, meaning it is a 8-1/2" x 11" cardstock folded in half. I am happy this set is not retiring, as I love it and use it often. However, the ribbon used here is going to retire, so grab yours while they are still available. This is one of my favorite ribbons. The sentiment is form a favorite retired a while ago, called Perfectly Penned. I could not have chosen a more adequate set for this card. I heat embossed it in gold to match the ribbon.

Thank you for visiting today. Have a wonderful day. Be well

Miriam

Sorry for your loss.

Image may contain: text

We got some news over the past weekend that a fellow family of our violin academy had a loss in the family. The grandmother has passed away peacefully after a long lived life and with lots of love. I have met her several times during violin camp and she was a wonderful person that gave plenty support to her grandchildren' love for violin and she made sure to attend every event. A sad loss.

The made me realize I am short on Sympathy cards. I do not enjoy having to make them, but I believe they are a way to sooth a bit the pain of the survivors with some beauty that they can hold to in memory of the loved one. Today's card match the challenge from Dostamper Stars 226 for the use of bundles. I chose to use the Falling Flowers, which is one of my favorites and I am happy to say the set and matching framelits will transition to the new catalog! I cut the Very Vanilla at 5-3/8" x 3-1/2" as I want to have an edge of the Blackberry Bliss. I then stamped the edges using the Timeless Textures and the Falling Flowers in Tip Top Taupe - so sad to see it go. I like how soft the background colors are and the contrasting colors from the flowers blend so well. Sentiment is from Flourishing Phrases, which was cut using the Lots of Labels on one of the ends, living the other straight. A bit of Mint Macaron ribbon and Linen Thread to finish it all off along with a bit of pearls. This card cannot bring life back, but can give a bit of beauty to the family.

Thank you for visiting today
