Already? Celebrate then.

CCMC391

Is it for real February already? I can hardly believe a whole month has gone by, but I must say this was not a bad January all things considered. The weather alone has made this month very much bearable.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demosntrator, ccmc, anniversary card, farmer's market dsp, flowering fields, bow builder punch, su

While bearable, I am not spending much time out doors, as I do not enjoy the cold weather. I have, instead, spent time in my craft room after schooling the children. I am working on batches of cards and also on cards to post here in my blog for my lovely viewers like you. Today I prepared a card for the CCMC 391 and it is one of those that no matter how little supplies you have, it is easy to complete. I know that while we build our product inventory, we want to make simple and beautiful cards. I used Farmers Market DSP, the Bow Builder Punch and the Flowering Fields stamp set, which you can get it now during Sale-a-Bration. I added rhinestones to both the flowers and the bow itself, as I want s touch of something without added colors. I love how it turned out. The bling certainly adds the right amount of details without being overwhelming. Perfect for the loved one.

Thank you for visiting today. I truly appreciate your comments and love. Be well

Miriam

In my mind.

Have you noticed how some people, despite the distance come on to our mind, just like a calling? I have moments when it is as if all around stopped for a moment while a far distant memory makes its presence felt. I love those moments.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, thinking of you, back to black dsp, english garden dsp, peaceful petals, big shot, deco labels collections, bold butterfly framelits, su

On those lines I made a card for those people whom we are often thinking about. I use the sketch from Dostamper Stars challenge 166 and combined that with the Back to Black dsp, a bit of Hello Honey for the background and for the lovely butterfly, a bit of chevron ribbon, and the sentiment from the Peaceful Petals stamp set. I like the simplicity of the card mostly because memories are simple things that are enriching beyond believe. Despite its simplicity.

Thank you for visiting today. More inspiration from this challenge can be found in the others fine Dostamper Stars. Be well

Made in Heaven

The long term commitment we make when we take wedding vows is made in Heaven and all the hopes are that will remain that way for the lifetime. Ups and downs are part of the growth, and without them it would all be too boring and plain.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, mm, wedding card, timeless elegance dsp, rose wonder stamp set, big shot, lots of labels framelits, banner triple punch, su

As a surprising mix that we are all made of, so is a marriage. Precisely the reason why I chose do many textures for today's card for the Mojo Monday challenge 432. While the colors all blend very well, the texture provide the interesting parts and details of each one of us. The dsp I use for that is the Timeless Elegance, and I love the effect it gave. I like to combine Very Vanilla, Black, and Real Red, but today I was just in the mood for something different. The Bermuda Bay ribbon caught my eye and the decision was made. The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set, which was cut with the Lots of Labels framelits. The banners could not be any easier with the Triple Banner punch. The perfect bow to close and seal the deal.

Thank you for visiting today. I hope you enjoyed the project and will brave a bit with the colors too. Be well

Most old, but a bit new too.

CCMC390

Well, let me say that I am glad we were not in the blizzard that reached the east coast over the weekend. I feel bad for those that were affected and hope all were safe and life is back to normal now.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, ccmc, birthday card, flashback dsp, flower pot dsp, label something, scalloped edge border punch, artisan label punch, label bracket punch, su

My weekend was busy but we got to spend time with a dear family friend of ours and it was so wonderful that I hope to do that more often. I did find a wee bit of time to play in my craft room, but not as much as I had wished for. I did prepare a card for the CCMC 390, and I dug a bit on my boxes of retired paper. It is nice to have those boxes to pull from and reminisce over the retired products. I went all hog on the retired and used almost all retired products on this card: Flashback DSP, Flower Pot DSP, Label Something stamp set, Artisan Label punch, and that beautiful Lost Lagoon ribbon. The Label Bracket is current, so there, something new too.

Thank you for visiting today. Please do stop by again. Be well.

It is all good.

PPA-284-Jan21

Well, this was a busy day and I am a bit tired. My older daughter was asked if she would like to do some "babysitting" on Fridays and she quickly agreed. Yesterday it was her first time and I was happy that she did well and enjoyed it. It is just a bit strange to see the child go to work.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, ppa, all occasions card, get well, sympathy card, bohemian dsp, rose wonder stamp set, awesomely artistic, su

Then I spent my day with my little boy and we had a very calm but busy day. He is a nice boy and makes for a wonderful company. I did some work in my craft room and made the card to participate in the Pals Paper Arts challenge 284. I kept the card simple using the Bohemian DSP, image from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set, and sentiment from the Rose Wonder. Perhaps this can be a Get Well card or even a Sympathy card, but in truth I think it can be for anyone that we are always thinking about. In my case, I was thinking in may daughter all day and hoping that she was doing well. I guess the prayers were for me!

Have a fantastic weekend. Thank you for stopping by. See you soon. Be well

... And I always will

I do not wish to talk about the weather anymore, but I must say today was a much milder winter day. Oh, how wonderful it is.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwihtyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, mother's day card, first sight, big shot, rose garden thinlits, chevron ribbon, su

Coming from overseas, there is little celebrations that I have done in the past few years in which my family were present. I do not remember the last time I celebrated Mother's day with my mom, for one. That does not mean that I do not think about my mom and always wish her a wonderful mother's day. A proper card is always in order too and today's card is in honor of all the mothers out there that work s hard in everything they do. The Dostamper Stars challenge 165 is the color scheme for the card. The sentiment from the First Sight stamp set is perfect and paired up nicely with the image and the Rose from the Rose Garden framelit. I think a smile will flourish when this card is opened, don't you?

Thank you for visiting today. More inspiration from this challenge can be found in the others fine Dostamper Stars. Be well

Sad, but memorable.

Our mild weather is now officially history and let's hope it does not take too long before it return to warm our bodies and souls. However, I must say, the bright sunny days sure makes the difference in keeping the moods up.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, mm, sympathy card, merry moments dsp, summer silhouettes, simply sketched, circle collections framelit, big shot, extra large oval punch, scallop oval punch, chevron ribbon,su

I am working on getting some cards hand and noticed that I need some sympathy cards. I do not look forward to making or using them, but they have a time to use and I hope that when I send one off, it will bring some beauty and comfort a suffering loved one. The sketch for today's card is from the Mojo Monday challenge 431. I used the Merry Moments DSP for the background. As much as I love the Chevron Ribbons, it makes a bow a bit too bulky for the look I was going for. Summer Silhouette stamp set was used for the image and the sentiment is from the Simply Sketched stamp set. While not a very cheerful card, it is not too sad either. I believe in the importance of remembering the loved one with happiness, so a card that transmits a bit of that is always a blessing.

Thank you for visiting today. Please come again soon. Be well

Gratitude.

PPA-283-Jan14

I think that in WI we were all getting too used with the mild winter that we were able to enjoy thus far. Well, it appears to me that we have now gone to a full winter mode and the thermometer is here to testify on that. This morning the temperature was at a painful -3F, and with the windchill of -21F. Oh well. But the day was beautiful and sunny, as it was yesterday. I am grateful to have a nice sunny day!

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, ppa, thank you, pretty petals dsp, what I love stamp set, big shot, apothecary accents framelit, elegant dots tief, su

After my morning out, I refused to go anywhere else, other than my craft room. And that I did. I played some, and cleaned up / organized some. I enjoyed it a lot. Then I made a card for the Pals Paper Players challenge 283. I did not know what type of card I wanted, so I just went on planning and cutting and deciding on supplies. The Pretty Petals dsp stack had 2 of the challenge colors, making my decision that much easier. I did not want to over power the cad with the Melon Mambo, so I used it as layers, but not before I added texture to it with the Elegant Dots TIEF.  The images and sentiments are from What I Love stamp set from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. I do have a few tips and tricks for when you go use this stamp set. You will see it has a small arrow on the stamp itself. It does not get stamped, it is just for positioning. I laid my blocks all on the same direction, with the Stampin' Up! name farther from me. The arrows all pointed that direction. This way when I go on to stamp I just need to make sure the blocks are pointing in the same direction. It made easier for me and I hope it will help you too.

Hope you enjoyed your visit today. Please come back soon. Be well

Miriam

Better half.

CCMC389

We all have ours better half, and why not celebrate them? It is easy to forget the small and little things that makes the loved one such a special part of our lives.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, ccmc, masculine, anniversary., english garden dsp, first sight, butterfly basics stamp set, papillon potpourri, circles framelit collection, elegant butterfly, big shot, su

I have been looking and thinking on making a card using the sentiment from the First Sight stamp set. I decide to play along with the CCMC 389 and when I started getting the supplies - mainly the English Garden DSP - I was thinking of images and also sentiment. I got he Butterfly Basics stamp set, as I want to use the fern image, and the "kindred spirits" sentiment felt perfect. A masculine hand-made card perfect for an Anniversary or Valentine's Day, don't you think? I thought about 2 birds, but it would be too big, and I did not wish for that. Instead I stamped and punched 2 butterflies, folded them in half and put them together in a lovely kiss. Love!

Thank you so much for visiting today. It means the world to me. Share the love. Be well

Cozy up.

The weather outside is dreadful, however, the days are nice and sunny. Well, it is winter, so what am I complaining about? At least we had a very mild December to enjoy!

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, wedding card, rose wonder stamp set, first sight, beach house washi tape, big shot, hearts collection, softly falling tief, heat embossing, su

What else is left to do other than cozy up a bit? When I saw the Dostamper Stars challenge 164 from this week, I immediately thought of cozy up, and loved the colors in the inspiration. Decided on a wedding card, but can certainly see a new home card with those colors too. New products were used and my favorite is the bold Watermelon Wonder 1" ribbon. It is absolutely gorgeous and soft. The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder and the image is from the First Sight, which I cut out using the Hearts Collection framelits. I stamped the image and quickly applied clear embossing powder. It worked nicely and I used the Heat Tool to finish the "magic" as my children called it. The texture is from the Softly Falling TIEF and I love it  in this card for it called for texture. Now, to a glass of wine and more of that cozy please.

Thank you for visiting today. Please visit the other Dostamper Stars to see how the challenge inspired others. Be well

Where is the bottom?

It only got worse and this morning the wind chill was so brutal that I wonder how local kids got to school. The wind was certainly strong and blowing the snow around. I did not step out of the house.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demosntrator, pp, all occasions card, flowering fields, lovely lace tief, texture boutique machine, su

Instead we did school, house chores, laundry, and crafting! Yay! The colors from the Paper Players challenge 277 were bright and cheerful, so I kept with the theme of a warmer climate card. The Sale-A-Bration Flowering Field stamp set is really cute and when I layered that red button, it was a perfect match. A pearl add to the flower and a bit of retired ribbon with a beautiful bow will never hurt. I hope that lonely butterfly stays warm. And you too.

Thank you for visiting today. Be well

The cold is knocking... wait, it busted the door.

CCMC388

I do not know who touched that thermostat, but we sure are suffering a drastic change of temperature. The drop was such that I could not understand it all when we went out this morning. I guess we are going to be under the cold spell for few days. It will climb back up, but not by much. Oh well.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, ccmc, birthday card, bohemian dsp, bloomin' heart thinlit, rose garden thinlits, big shot, su

Of course, I was not willing to go out and about any more than absolutely needed, and after the lunch time was done with, what better thing to do than play a bit? The color combo from the CCMC 388 looks the opposite of my weather and with those happy colors, no one can go wrong. I used a retired sentiment, and items from the New Occasions catalog: Bloomin'g Heart Thinlits, Rose Garden Thinlits and the beautiful stitched Bermuda Bay ribbon. The dsp used here is the Bohemian dsp and I loved how it gave a great and colorful background to the card.

You are in my thoughts... and to do list.

PPA-282-Jan07

I am trying to keep my days at a good pace, however, it seems to be going a bit faster than me. I had a busy weekend and am trying to keep up with my e-mails and messages. Sorry if I did not get back to you. But...

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, ppa, get well, sympathy card, pretty petals dsp, peaceful petals, world of dreams, 1-3/4" circle punch, big shot, circles framelit collection, su

... I am thinking of you and prepared this card to show you so. The sketch for today's card is from the Pals Paper Arts challenge 282. The dsp today is from the Pretty Petals dsp stack. I love those two pattern together. Considering that the sketch was simple, I kept the card so too. The sentiment is from the Peaceful Petals and the image is from the World of Dreams stamp set, which I stmapde just on teh edges. I love the final result.

Despite of my tardiness in getting back to everyone, I am here and will get back on track soon. I truly appreciate your support, your questions, and your patience too. Thank you for visiting today. Be well

Happy Healing

I think I am back to the normal routine, and I am very happy about it. I like to have a good pace to my day and get things accomplished.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, get well, wildflower fields dsp, number of years stamp set, and many more stamp set, su

For those of you who know, my father-in-law is on the road to recovery. After being in the hospital for few days right on Christmas, he was transferred to the health care portion of the nursing home and is making progress. I have hear from few people that have dealt with family's health issues during the holidays and I want to make a get well card. I am using the Dostamper Stars challenge 163 as my sketch. For the background I got the Sale-a-bration Wildflower Fields dsp and had a hard time choosing which one to use as they are all beautiful. I want to have a small imagine, such as a bouquet, and the one that came to my rescue was the new Number of Years stamp set. I love to be able to stamp all those little flowers in different colors. The sentiment is from And Many more stamp set. A bit of pearls, and a bit of ribbon, and a perfect bow finish up this card.

Thank you so much for visiting today. Please do come again and remember to visit the other DoStamper Stars for more inspiration. Be well

Why, of course some already found its way into my craft room and I have been a very happy player, "testing" them all. How about sharing another one with you today? That Sky is the Limit stamp set is a darling and the sentiments are just wonderful too. I combined the images and sentiments with the Bohemian dsp and I love the result. Peaceful passage.

CCMC387

I do not want to start the year on a sad note, however, things happen and a friend of mine lost her grand-father on Christmas day. She held up well, but I know she was very sad and I know a card would give her some solace.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, ccmc, sympathy card, english garden dsp, banner triple punch, decorative label punch, simply sketched, su

Of course, I made this card with her in mind. I used the CCMC 387 as my inspiration. I looked through my dsp collection and found that the English Garden was perfect and I used it for all the panels. I will miss this dsp and its beautiful and soothing colors. The sentiment is from the retired Simply Sketched, which is a favorite of mine. Now, the one tool that I have reached up for a lot is the Triple Banner punch. Have you seen it? Did you buy it? well, if you did not, you must. It is the best and quickly turn any piece of paper in a lovely banner. A touch of ribbon in a perfect bow form and this card was complete to present to my friend.

Thank you for visiting today. I wish you all a fantastic 2016 filled with all your dreams realizations. Be well
