Subtle you.

DSC#196

This past weekend was my daughter's 11th birthday. We celebrated it taking a day trip to Chicago and visiting the American Girl Doll store in the heart of the city. She had such a wonderful time that I could do it all over again. We took the train to get to the city and also used the water taxi. This was a great plus to keep my little boy satisfied with the trip. He had a wonderful time too.

We started our school on Monday, and as you can imagine it has been a busy week getting everyone settled again in the new routine. I was able to work on the card for the Dostamper Stars 196 and those subtle colors are just too much; I love them. Sporting here is the Picture Perfect stamp set, which was stamped using only the colors from the challenge. When I had to stamp the second or the third stamp, I simply stamped them first on scrap paper, so to lighten the ink and make the lighter shades possible. I add the ferns and the dotted border from the Awesomely Artistic set and a touch of pearl for the hummingbird's eye. I love birds, and hummingbirds are such an amazing creature. We got to see some this summer and I hope they will come back each year.

Hope you are enjoying your week and having a wonderful time. Please remember to visit the other Dostamper stars for more inspiration on this challenge. Thank you for visiting and please do come again. Be well

Miriam

All around the globe.

We all have a motorcycle fan in our circle of family and friends. In my past life, I was a rider myself. It was super fun to go for long rides in the mountains of Alabama, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Later, when we moved to Florida we still rode and I got a bigger bike, but I did not feel very safe and when I got pregnant, the bike and I parted.

For the memories that remained, today's card celebrate them all. The sketch from DOstamper Stars 195 was perfect to put this bike from the One Wild Ride "in motion". Once I had all the pieces assembled and adhered, I gave it a texture "treatment" with the World Traveler TIEF. I love the effect it gave to the final project. Let's celebrate the riders in our lives with this beautiful card that tells everything about any aficionado rider.

Thank you for your visit today. Please visit the others Dostamper Stars for more inspiration on this challenge. Hope to see you again soon. Be well

Friends. Best thing ever.

ppa314

Friends came in some many shades of colors that add so much to our lives. I have some dear friends, like all of you, that means so much to me. Then there are those that no matter what will forever be a friend. And then there are many of you that have married your best friend, and that is even better. To develop a life long relationship is an balancing act. And only when we can fully accept the other we will form a true and forever friendship.

I made this card today more leaning towards an anniversary / wedding card. I think it is a perfect card for that occasion, but I can see it myself giving it to a best friend. The sketch is from the PPA 314 and it was a fantastic inspiration for me. I used the new Falling Flowers for the image, which was stamped twice in opposite sides. The center panel covered part of the stamp rather well and I made sure to do my best to center the image. The sentiment is from the First Sight stamp set, and it was cut using the Lots of Labels framelits. I used a strip of paper to stamp, and then centered it on the framelit obtaining  a rounded edge. I add a bit of the Tip Top Taupe ribbon because it is just too beautiful and kept to the color scheme of the card. A striking card with very little supplies and that can be put together in little time.

Thank you for your visit today. Hope to see you again soon. Be well

Float away.

Another quick moving week around here. I love the warm, sunny, beautiful days, but they are moving all too fast for me. I want to celebrate more and spend more times enjoying it all.

Then, a birthday card is in order. Dostamper Stars challenge 193 is a photo inspiration, but there has been so many cupcakes in my life lately, that I decided to use something other than that. The Celebrate Today stamp set and its matching Balloon Framelit helped me out of my dilemma.  Because I wanted a bit depth to the balloon I sponged the sides with Tempting Turquoise and also popped the image up with some dimensional. I did my best to keep true to the colors from the photo inspiration and add a bit of sentiment to top off the "cake".

Thank you for visiting today. I hope you have enjoyed it and I hope you will take a moment to visit the other Dostamper Starts that participated in today's challenge. Be well.

Appreciated.

Do these colors remind you of summer? They do for me. As I peruse in my garden and look at the plants happily growing, there are so many shades of all colors that washes my eyes with beauty. I love summer and all the glory it brings forth.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, thank you, thoughtful branches bundle, big shot, lovely lace tief, su

As you know, we were in an intensive violin summer camp all last week, and seeing all the teacher put so many hours teaching violin to such wide age group, makes me wonder how many of us really appreciate what they do. I decided to prepare some cards to send out to the teachers that taught us this past week. The Dostamper Stars 192 gave me a good color combo and I played with that for the cards. The new and fantastically beautiful Beautiful Branches got to get its first use in my craft room. I love it. The sentiment and image are all from the same set and the thinlit that is part of the bundle. I did apply texture to the back layer with the Lovely Lace TIEF, to add a bit of interest. Picture not always tells everything and in this case the very small pearls that I added to the flowers are not showing well. But in person added such a delicate detail. This card is being sent out along with a photo of the teacher with my child. It will be a lovely memento from the hectic week and I hope she will know that she is appreciated indeed.

Thank you for visiting today. I hope you have enjoyed it and I hope you will take a moment to visit the other Dostamper Starts that participated in today's challenge. Be well.
