Garland... Spring garland.

Image may contain: text

Hello my dear friends and readers.

Unlike last week, we are enjoying a bit of a break from the brutally cold weather, and now I am really getting excited to get my seeds planted.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, all occasions card, awesomely artistic, elegant dots tief, big shot, su

Today's card does not showcase any products from the Occasions catalog, but the products featured are a favorite of mine. The Dostamper Stars 214 is on TIEF and I used here the Elegant Dots on only half of the front layer. The top layer was stamped with the Awesomely Artistic and adorned with this beautiful Watermelon Wonder ribbon. I have chosen no sentiment for this one and I noticed that I made several cards lately which does not have a sentiment. Good thing, as I have needed get well, sympathy, and birthday cards lately, and not having a sentiment sure gives me some flexibility. The bow is perfectly made and placed to give the card the final embellishment.

Thank you for visiting today. I look forward to seeing you again. Be well

Miriam

Dragonfly Dreams

Hello my dear friends and readers,

The busy time of the Holidays tend to get me out of my craft room and I miss you dearly. I got a bit of sinus infection / cold and I am still not feeling my best. However, my husband is on vacation, so he is home and has been a tremendous help. He took the children out and I got a bit of a break and went to my craft room. I sure needed that time as I have not played much with the supplies I got from the upcoming Occasions catalog. I believe you have already received your copy, but if not, let me know and we can certainly arrange to rectify that.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, all occasions, awesomely artistic, detailed dragonfly thinlits, wink of stella, big shot, su

The Dragonfly Dreams set caught my eye right away, and I knew this would come in my first order. Howe can one say no to this set? The Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits that bundles with the stamp set is so pretty and it is indispensable. For today's card I used both the stamp set, the thinlits, I used the new Avant Garden stamp set, which you can also get it for free during Sale-A-Bration, as well the Awesomely Artistic stamp set. I kept the colors mute as I want the dragonfly itself to pop and make an statement. I did not stamp it, but instead cut with the thinlit and then cut the wings again using velum. I gave a coat of Wink of Stella in both the body and wings, which sure made a dramatic difference.

I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and Holidays Season. I appreciate all your support, comments, friendship, and times spent together. I look forward for a beautiful and crafty New year. Be well

Miriam

Washi dream.

Hello my dear readers. Well, I am so pleased that I am able to spend more time teaching my children and also crafting. I homeschool them and having them home is a tremendous blessing. Not everyday is the best, but most of the days are full of glory.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, all occasions card, affectionately yours washi tape, awesomely artistic, pansy punch, white perfect accents, thick baker's twine, su

Today's card is for the Dostamper Stars 198 and the theme is Washi Tapes. It can be hard to use the tapes until you get the hang of it. The fact that they can be repositioned is a wonderful feature as the layout can be changed in a heart bit. Today I used the Affectionately Yours DWT which were added to the corners of the card, settling the color scheme. The flower was cut in Cucumber Crush and also Vellum using the Pansy punch and set on top of the Awesomely Artistic stamped image. A bit of thick baker's twine at the side makes the color of the flower pop without being overpowering and the White Perfect Accents on the center of the flower, complete the looks of this card.

Thank you for visiting today. I hope our day is filled with blessing and happiness. Be well

Miriam

Subtle you.

DSC#196

This past weekend was my daughter's 11th birthday. We celebrated it taking a day trip to Chicago and visiting the American Girl Doll store in the heart of the city. She had such a wonderful time that I could do it all over again. We took the train to get to the city and also used the water taxi. This was a great plus to keep my little boy satisfied with the trip. He had a wonderful time too.

We started our school on Monday, and as you can imagine it has been a busy week getting everyone settled again in the new routine. I was able to work on the card for the Dostamper Stars 196 and those subtle colors are just too much; I love them. Sporting here is the Picture Perfect stamp set, which was stamped using only the colors from the challenge. When I had to stamp the second or the third stamp, I simply stamped them first on scrap paper, so to lighten the ink and make the lighter shades possible. I add the ferns and the dotted border from the Awesomely Artistic set and a touch of pearl for the hummingbird's eye. I love birds, and hummingbirds are such an amazing creature. We got to see some this summer and I hope they will come back each year.

Hope you are enjoying your week and having a wonderful time. Please remember to visit the other Dostamper stars for more inspiration on this challenge. Thank you for visiting and please do come again. Be well

Miriam

Gentle rain.

Tuesday was a beautiful rainy day. A gentle rain that soaks the ground and provide plenty moisture for the plants to grow. The kind of rain that makes you cuddle with a book and some hot drink. The kind of rain that gives the birds a chance to bath and be ever so happy. A peaceful, beautiful rainy day.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, mm, thank you, awesomely artistic, simply sketched, texture boutique machine, elegant dots tief, botanical gardens dsp, su

Also a kind of day that gives a chance to play in the craft room and create some cards. I made this card for the Mojo Monday 447 and I am rather pleased with the result. I went for green since that is the most seeing color around my area now. A touch of Watermelon Wonder gave just the fine balance of color without breaking any harmony. The images are from the Awesomely Artistic stamp set and the sentiment from the Simply Sketched stamp set. I love both of them and they made a beautiful pair. I was not going to do anything with the Pear Pizzazz panel, but I just could not resist adding a bit texture to the card. I love it how the Elegant Dots TIEF completed the looks. The paper for the background is the Botanical Gardens dsp, and it worked beautifully.

I hope you enjoy my card today, just as much as I have enjoyed your visit. Be well

Miriam
