Climbing.

Dear Friend and Readers,

Wow, we made some progress with our kitchen project, but there is still a lot to get done. I have nothing left of my old kitchen. All cabinets, appliances, and flooring are removed. A bit more electric work, plumbing, and dry wall and we will be all ready to install the new cabinets and appliances. I am excited!

Despite all the work around the kitchen, I have found time to craft a bit and I am happy I did. Nothing like some card making to recharge my energies.

I am loving the new Climbing Orchid bundle. For one thing, I have always loved orchid and use to have a collection of them when we lived in Florida. Now I have a few of them that sit happily in our school room. I wanted to create an Ikebana type of floral today and for that I use the Christmas Pine for the leaves and the Frozen Threats for the vase or bowl. I covered the bowl with a piece of velum cut from the Layering Ovals framelit. The center of the orchid was coated over with Wink of Stella just for a subtle touch. Hard to see on the picture, but it gave a nice effect. This card really did not need anything else.

Thank you for visiting today. Take care.

Miriam

Season of growth.

Oh, it is wonderful to hear the birds chirping away, happily celebrating a new season of growth. Funny thing is that we got couple nests on our back yard, close to the house. The robins have hatched and flown to their freedom, but there are some sparrows that I thought were done too and now are fighting, literally over a spot on top of the speaker. They are so quarrelsome that the other day they were simply annoying. But, I love them anyway.

No birds on my card today, but a bit of flowers with a promise of fruits to come. A dragonfly can also be handy and sure adds a bit of embellishment to the season. Today I use the sketch from Mojo Monday 497 for inspiration. I used the Brushstrokes background stamp in So Saffron, and the Touches of Texture for the front. I have gotten a great appreciation to Wink of Stella and I added that to the dragonfly's wings. The flowers were colored in Watermelon Wonder using the watercolor brush, being easy on it since I am using regular cardstock. Little Pearls embellish the flowers and they look gorgeous.

Thank you for your visit today. Glad to see you here. Be well

Miriam

Bold congratulations.

Hello friends and readers,

I have been spending more time in my craft room and I am so happy about it. I have missed it so much and now I am just appreciating it even more. I did a bit of cleaning up and rearranging the space to make it more practical and functional. I have floor tile in the are and it gets rather cold there, despite the space heaters. I added some rubber tile, those big types people use for garage maybe, and put around, so now all my paper, stamps, inks, framelits can be reached without me stepping on the tile. Simple adjustments that do make a difference.

Do you love the Flourishing Phrases set? I have made several cards with it, and I love it more each time. With the exception of the sentiment, the card is entirely made with the Flourishing Phrases and Flourish Thinlits dies. The sentiment is from the Floral Phrases and it was stamped in Mossy Meadow. I did cut the Mossy meadow layer, and then again in Brushed gold, which was then positioned back into the negative. I used the Wink of Stella in gold to color the cut out of the flowers so it was not Vanilla. The leaves and flowers were heat embossed in both Gold and Clear powder, and the flower was hand cut to have just the central part positioned on top. I love the looks and the strong colors.

I hope you found your dose of inspiration today and I am glad you stopped by. Have a wonderful day. Be well

Miriam

Color fun.

Image may contain: text

This has been a nice quiet break at our house. We had a wonderful Christmas and hope you did too. The snow is almost all melted, but the temperatures got low again. I got some much needed organizing done and I am still not done. Time was also allowed for crafting!

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, birthday card, watercolor pencil, avant garden stamp set, delicate details stamp set, wink of stella, su

I had made some cards and realize I am low on Birthday Cards. Since I have new products, I figure it is time to put some miles on them with the Dostamper Stars 211. I totally love the Avant Garden stamp set, a Sale-a-Bration item and also the Delicate Details, which I stamped in the Sweet Sugarplum layer, adding a Old Olive ribbon in between the stamps. I use the new Watercolor Pencils to add the color to the top flowers, and let me tell you, those pencils are a dream to work with. A tad bit of Wink of Stella to the center of the flowers, just for the fun, and this card is ready to go. Way too many birthdays coming up. But I also need to work on some thank you cards... I am in luck!

Thank you for visiting today. I look forward to a plentiful new year. Be well

Miriam
