Saga, part III

Along the years I have learned that colors has different meaning in distinct cultures. In Brazil, we say that all is blue meaning that all is very well, but I learned that being blue in America does not reflect the same sentiment. I like the happier perspective.

Green, for us, is the color of Hope, and Yellow, the color of friendship. I incorporated these colors for today's Dostamper Stars 187, and since the colors means so much a wedding card in those colors seems a perfect idea. The background is from the Botanical Gardens dsp, which we all have to give it a good bye as it retired. The image is from the beautiful new hostess set Gift of Love. The minute I saw that set I had to have it. I love it. The sentiment, which was cut using the Lots of Labels framelits is from the Rose Wonder stamp set, which is also a favorite of mine. I sponged the contour of the cut out to give a bit of depth and to stand out. A bit of pearls at the bottom added a delicate touch.

Thank you for visiting today. I hope you found inspiration in today's project. Remember to take a moment to leave me a note and to visit the other Dostamper Stars. Be well

Miriam

Weddings, continued.

The saga continues. I must say, however, that I like to work on a theme for a few days. The ideas get flowing and at the end I like to see the possibilities around one theme. Wedding cards tend to be too standard and I prefer to see it as unique as the people.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, pp, wedding card, bridal shower card, timeless elegance dsp, flourishing phrases stamp set, big shot, circles framelit collection, su

Today's card is inspired in the PP301 and I kept it as simple as the sketch. I love the elegance and straight forwardness of it, and honestly I can see it being used for a Bridal Shower too. The background is Timeless Elegance DSP, with the Watermelon Wonder Ribbon on front. The simple and elegant sentiment is from Flourishing Phrases stamp set and as much as I want to add more to it, I decided to stop and let the simplicity speak louder. Love the result.

Thank you for visiting today. Hope to see you again. Be well

Back and weddings.

PPA-306-June23

I think the busy weeks are over now and I can start enjoying some more relaxed days and also a bit more crafting. I have been missing my lovely craft room, but I got to spend some time in it over the weekend. A bit working re-organizing it and also a bit playing with new and old supplies. I am glad to be back.

Summer time brings lots of weddings. I, for one, got married on the Summer Solstice some 19 years ago. I have seen several friends get married this month alone, some nearby, some far away. It is wonderful to see people start a new journey together. This week, let's celebrate marriage, with cards of course. Today's card is inspired in the PPA 306 and I call this a wedding card. Why? Well, I do not believe we have to always have the same idea. People are different, so should be cards for all occasions. I started with retired Park Lane dsp, heat embossed it in Early Espresso with the Falling Flowers and added die cut image from the new Flourish Thinlits. Oh, and fear not, with the Die Brush, those little pieces come out with s snap. The sentiment I got from And Many More stamp set, and I love to have that set hand despite it being retired. The pearls bring it all together with a touch of elegance.

Thank you for your visit today. I look forward to hearing from you. Be well

Gorgeous.

I am not catching any break around here. But I am surrounded by wonderful friends and family and that on itself is a wonderful break. We all need to have that good bunch of people around to cheer us up, keep us busy, and stand with us no matte what.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, anniversary card, floral phrases stamp set, Detailed Floral Thinlits, big shot, su

A small break and I had the opportunity to make a card for Dostamperstars 186. Have you seen the new In Colors? They are superb! Today I am using the Peekaboo Peach for the cardstock, which was cut with the Detailed Floral Thinlits. How can one say no to this Thinlit? It is a work of art all in itself and makes any card stand out from ordinary. Instant effect. Gorgeous. The ribbon is the new 3/8" Ruched Ribbon in Dapper Denim. It makes a beautiful bow, and that for me gets the immediate seal of approval.

Thank you so much for your visit today. It is wonderful to hear from you, so please drop a line. And for more inspiration, visit the others DoStamper Stars. Be well

Oh my...

Oh my, oh my. I am so sorry my dear readers and friends, for being so quiet this past week. I had some incident after the heavy rain fall on Tuesday evening and that just added to my very busy week. We got a bit of water in the basement and I got some of my supplies wet. Nothing was lost, other than a lot of time. I just now finished making sure all is dry and good, things are back in place and I can play again. But the weather outside is so beautiful that I am spending most of the day outdoors with the children. Today we picked strawberries, so my day was dedicated to making our jam. I found a bit of time at the end of the day to play again.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, mm, congratulations, farmer's market dsp, touches of texture, flourishing phrases stamp set, big shot, magnetic platform, flourish thinlits. big shot, su

And this is the card I made using the gorgeous Flourish Thinlits, which has a matching stamp set - Flourishing Phrases, that gave me the sentiment. I will be posting this card on the MojoMonday 453, as I got the sketch idea from them. This thinlit will be busy in my hands. I love the details and the flair it has. The rhinestones on the "buds" adds such a delicate touch. The Very Vanilla background would be way too plain without some touch or texture. I selected to have the Touches of Texture for that and even added the little dragonfly. I love all the textures in this card.

I hope you enjoyed the project today. Please share your thoughts as I love to hear them. Be well
