Glad to be back.

Dear Friends, hope you had a fabulous Thanksgiving and enjoyed your family and friends. We took a trip to Pennsylvania and spend the week there with our friends. We had a wonderful and very memorable time. Now it is time to get things back on track and get ready for Christmas.

I am glad to be back and get some time in my craft room. I know that I have been away from it more than I want, and it feels great to make something to share with you all. Today I made a card from Dostamper Stars 208, which is a color inspiration. I did not want to make a Christmas card, instead I went for a Thank You card as I have plenty to be thankful for. The images are from Touches of Texture stamp set, which is so beautiful; sentiment I got from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set. Once I had the Cherry Cobbler flower stamped I inked it using the marvelous Wink of Stella and it gave the flowers a pop that the picture failed to capture. Have you tried the Wink of Stella yet? I highly recommend as it does make a difference in the card. The colors get brighter and the shine effect is so pretty. The dragonflies are adorned with some Rhinestone just because I love them!

Thank you for your visit today. I enjoy being back and hope to get more creations ready for you. Be well

Miriam

Color it pretty.

I am completely unable to keep up with time. The weeks are moving faster than I can keep up with and look, it is Thanksgiving already. Well, I have been busy with fundraiser for my children' violin school, with the garden that needs preparation for the winter, planting garlic, and expanding it a bit, and life in general. There is little time left for the fun things that I enjoy so.

I did run to my craft room and had time to play a bit. I see that, despite our beautiful days, the nights are much cooler and we will start getting cooler days. For that I want something more colorful and warm. The Botanical Gardens bundle is my choice today along with Wild Wasabi and Flirty Flamingo. I love how those two colors go together. The Early Espresso surely provided for a perfect background and to make the colors pop. I normally would give some texture to the background, but this time I like it plain.
Your visit is greatly appreciated. I look forward to seeing you again, and soon things will get back to normal. Be well

Miriam

I am in stitches!!

Have you heard the news?  You can purchase the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies ahead of their official release in the 2017-2018 annual catalog.  I love the sweet edging the dies create and classic shapes that coordinate with Stampin’ Up! Layering Squares, Circles and Ovals Dies.

Check out the “stitching” the dies create on the “for you” layer!
HOW DID THEY DO THAT?  I have been asked how Stampin’ Up! created the rectangle from a square “stitched” die in the sample above.  Here’s the 411:
Line up the framelit on your paper so one end of the framelit and the paper are off the platform. You only want to cut three sides of the square. Run it through the Big Shot.
Rotate your paper and carefully line up the framelit with the cuts of the first run.  Make sure that one end of the framelit and paper are off the platform, so it doesn’t cut a line down the middle of your rectangle. Then run it through the Big Shot.
Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies coordinate with the Stampin’ Up! Layering Circles, Squares and Ovals Dies!  Here are the approximate sizes of the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies:
Circles:  1-3/8″, 1-7/8″, 2-3/8″, 2-7/8″
Squares:  1-3/16″, 1-5/8″, 2-1/8″, 2-5/8″
Ovals:  1-3/4″ x 1-3/16″, 2-1/4″ x 1-5/16″, 2-3/4″ x 1-13/16″, 3-1/4″ x 2-5/16″.
AND NOVEMBER GETS EVEN BETTER!  Starting today, Stampin’ Up! is offering 25% off select stamp sets that coordinate beautifully with the dies.
