Serene

As part of life, we all will eventually come to an earthly end and that is unavoidable. However, for those that stay behind the departure can be painful and friends and family play a vital role in comforting the living. Recently so many artists have died and I hear so many people in a terminal phase, that I could not help but make a Sympathy card.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, mm, sympathy card, sweater weather, serene silhouettes, teeny tiny wishes stamp set. big shot, papillon potpourri, bitty butterfly punch, su

I find that when I make a Sympathy card I hope that the person receiving it will find comfort in the beauty of the card. I try to keep a calming perspective to it, but also want to incorporate a bit of color. Today's card is based on the Mojo Monday challenge 435 and has a masculine feel to it. I used a piece of the retired Sweater Weather DSP for its neutrality. The image is from Serene Silhouettes and the sentiment for Teeny Tiny Wishes. The butterfly add a bit if color without being too much. I think it has a serene, calming look to it and I hope the person receiving it will feel just so.

Thank you for visiting today. Please do come again and remember you can always subscribe to my blog and follow it. Be well

Miriam

Better half.

CCMC389

We all have ours better half, and why not celebrate them? It is easy to forget the small and little things that makes the loved one such a special part of our lives.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, ccmc, masculine, anniversary., english garden dsp, first sight, butterfly basics stamp set, papillon potpourri, circles framelit collection, elegant butterfly, big shot, su

I have been looking and thinking on making a card using the sentiment from the First Sight stamp set. I decide to play along with the CCMC 389 and when I started getting the supplies - mainly the English Garden DSP - I was thinking of images and also sentiment. I got he Butterfly Basics stamp set, as I want to use the fern image, and the "kindred spirits" sentiment felt perfect. A masculine hand-made card perfect for an Anniversary or Valentine's Day, don't you think? I thought about 2 birds, but it would be too big, and I did not wish for that. Instead I stamped and punched 2 butterflies, folded them in half and put them together in a lovely kiss. Love!

Thank you so much for visiting today. It means the world to me. Share the love. Be well

Miriam

Please don't go!

I beg you to stay.. But, go they will. I grew accustomed to several of the product that are retiring this year. I do not like to see them go, but new product will take their places and we will continue to create beautiful works of art.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, thank you, flashback dsp, papillon potpourri, itty bitty banners, bitty butterfly, big shot, bitty banners, butterflies thinlits die, su

Without further ado, and with the Dostamper Stars challenge 131, let's look back at couple product that will be officially retired as of June 2nd. The Itty Banners stamp set along with its framelits are going to take its leave and so will the beautiful Flashback DSP. I did have to prepare a Thank you card for those two, as they were part of many projects and have been well loved around here. Now, I bid you two farewell and you will not be forgotten.

Inspiration continues! Visit these other fine Dostamper Stars ladies to see their take on today's challenge:

You are the best!

This week I experienced, for the first time in my life, a sinus infection. Well, I did not like it one bit and will live happily ever after if I never get another one. But, that did not stop me from doing some cards, which was the best part of my day yesterday. Yay to paper crafting!

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, fusion, confetti celebration dsp, starburst framelits, papillon potpourri, big shot, elegant butterfly, bitty butterfly, starburst sayings, su

I made this card using the Fusion Sparkly Christmas Challenge as an inspiration. Clearly, I did not have Christmas in mind. I have made so many Christmas cards already that I decided for something else and since I can think of lots people that are special in my life, I decided to make a card to all of you. I decided to add Basic Black to all the under layers as I like how it makes all the other colors simply pop. Since it was a while since I used the Starburst Sayings stamp set, I went for that. I want the back layer to be smaller, so I used the 2-3/8" circle scallop punch to make my own starburst. The butterflies? Well, there is always room for them.

Warmth Sympathy.

DSC#105

At this time of the year, it is hard for me not to stare in space thinking that I can almost smell the salty ocean and feel the warm breeze that emanates from it. Just to be shaken into reality that the temperature is not conducive to that.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc105, sssc242, papillon potpourri, love & sympathy, I love lace, elegant butterfly, bitty butterfly, tator,

Nonetheless, the colors at the Dostamper Stars Challenge 105  gave me some chance to feel and smell all that. I combined those beautiful colors with the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 242. Bermuda Bay, says it all, but combine with the Tangerine Tango makes it all perfect. Why did I use a Sympathy sentiment? Well, I believe that a person in grief can benefit from some warmth. The Papillon Potpourri stamp set and the coordinating punches gave the correct amount of touch, keeping the card simple. The sentiment I took from Love & Sympathy stamp set and that beautiful background is from the I Love Lace background stamp and it was the perfect touch.

And there are more inspiration for this sketch. Check them out:

A very happy birthday!

Growing up, it was said that we do not celebrate birthday ahead of the actual date and we cannot go by without having at least a cake. I liked that idea and to this day have not shaken that out.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, MM 364, mm, world of dreams, papillon potpourri, something to say stamp set, bitty butterfly, modern label punch, word window, su

As with any birthday cake, a card is always in order. I enjoy receiving birthday cards, as they truly demonstrate the thought that someone had about you.  How about this sketch from Mojo Monday challenge 364 for a birthday card? Well, I thought of it ideal. The World of Dreams stamp set and the Bitty Butterfly completed the card beautifully and if there are flowers, let there be butterfly!

Feel the embrace.

The embrace of calm, serene, and simple elegance.  To combine several elements, texture, and colors, can be trick, but when done well it can have an effect that it is almost as if the card embraces you!

TSOT 185, Miriam Castanho Bollinger, mstampinwithyou, stammpin up, demonstrator, tsot, serene silhouettes, papillon potpourri, bitty butterfly, flower pot dsp, su

Using the Serene Silhouettes stamp set on this Try Stampin on Tuesday challenge 185, this card filled me with peace and calm. When I started pulling the colors based on the Flower Pot DSP, I did not envision this calming outcome.

Thank you for visiting today and always. I truly enjoy reading all the comments you leave, so please take a moment and share some love with me.
