Well wishes

Hello my dear readers.  I am glad to be in a health state again, but I hear a lot of people still dealing with some nasty cold/flu that can last for 3 weeks. I wish any and all of you that your health be restored soon.

My mother-in-law underwent a major surgery on the 25th and my husband stayed with her for this past week. She is slowly recovering and we are also keeping her in our prayers. A Get Well card is in order with so many people ill. I used the color combinations from CCMC400, which I think it is simply lovely and got busy creating this card. The Timeless Elegance dsp is the background. I like that it make for a mute tone and let the Lost Lagoon and Delightful Dijon shine. The image is from the Awesomely Artistic and the sentiment from the Butterfly Basics Stamp set.  I like layering with punched shaped and this one is a classic. Love how the sentiment fit and filled up the oval. I was tempted to add a bow, but the sentiment was enough. A bit of lowers in the corner did the trick to finish balancing out the card.

Kindred & colors.

Hello my dear readers. I am entering a  very busy week and my posts may be far in between. But, it does not mean I have forgotten you, it just means that my free time is not going to suffice so I can have time to play.

However, I did find just a bit of time to prepare a card for the CCMC 396. The color selection is beautiful but not exactly easy for me to combine. The background is from the Regals DSP stack. To go with that I used the Fancy Fans TIEF on the Hello Honey layer. The oval is stamped with the First Sight stamp set and so is the sentiment. It was a while since I last layered the sentiment using the Decorative Label Punch, and this was a perfect chance. I love the looks of it. I added a bit of ribbon just for a final and delicate touch.

Sad, but memorable.

Our mild weather is now officially history and let's hope it does not take too long before it return to warm our bodies and souls. However, I must say, the bright sunny days sure makes the difference in keeping the moods up.

I am working on getting some cards hand and noticed that I need some sympathy cards. I do not look forward to making or using them, but they have a time to use and I hope that when I send one off, it will bring some beauty and comfort a suffering loved one. The sketch for today's card is from the Mojo Monday challenge 431. I used the Merry Moments DSP for the background. As much as I love the Chevron Ribbons, it makes a bow a bit too bulky for the look I was going for. Summer Silhouette stamp set was used for the image and the sentiment is from the Simply Sketched stamp set. While not a very cheerful card, it is not too sad either. I believe in the importance of remembering the loved one with happiness, so a card that transmits a bit of that is always a blessing.

Hi mom!

We knew these beautiful colors were going to wave good bye, but it is hard to see them go as they are such a pretty bunch. I have stocked up and plan on continue to use them for some time.

Every year when the Retiring list comes out, I revisit some old favorites. This time I picked up the Delightful Dozen for the sentiment and the Scalloped Dotted Border punch. Those are favorites of mine and I am having a hard time parting with them. Another one taking leave is the I Like You hostess set, but look at that potential! For a bit of texture, how about the lovely Spring Flowers TIEF? A mother deserves all that and much more. I cannot see how we are already at the end of January. Perhaps because it is so cold and I do not get out much I do not see the time go by this fast. Anyway, it has been a great month. With the release of the new Occasion Catalog and the beginning of Sale-A-Bration I have had lots of new products to try out. Today, however I decide to go products from the current annual catalog.
