Grateful



With a busy weekend, and it appears that lots of students had a busy weekend too with graduation, I can say that I am grateful for times like there. The feeling of accomplishment is a tremendous pay off.

I found some time on Sunday to play in my craft room and get some cards made. My husband took the children for a bit of nature time and I had the house all to myself. The silence, sometimes is a precious thing. I then looked up challenges for today, did a bit of perusing in the internet, and got busy with the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 269 for this cards. I am working on clearing up space for the new catalog products and DSP are just something that I must move. Today's choice is the Confetti Celebration along with the Let your Hair Down stamp set. The Labels Collection framelit cut the sentiment and a bit of retired trim to finish up this card. Loved it.

On a completely separate note, as a child I loved reading dictionaries. For the sake of learning words and its meaning. Today I saw one that I never encountered before: Haberdasher. Do you know the meaning of it? Of course I looked up, but if you have not, take a moment and do it. Have fun!

Fly, bella, fly!


Let's close the week with a bit more of Spring calling. The butterflies are begging to return, the flowers are ready to bloom and fill our surroundings with colors, and we are ready to open the windows and let in some fresh air!

Yes, I am ready for Spring and somewhat ready for Valentine's day. I enjoy Valentine's and will have something special, but for now my need for Spring is really, really, much greater. As you can see I only use the sketch part of the Fusion Heartful challenge, and the new Butterflies Thinlits die made a perfect center piece for my card. The sentiment is from the Moon Lake stamp set and if I am thinking of someone I want to think them good and happy thoughts and I believe this card fits the bill, don't you?

Oh the backgrounds!



Do you like background stamps? I do like them and how much satisfaction they give me instantaneously. I like how I can make my own DSP by using a single stamp and, even better, stamping it only once! Hard to beat that one.

Today card was a go background card. I used two background stamps: I Love Lace and Pleasant Poppies. The entire card has lots of images, but only took minutes to get it all put together. I add a Bitty Butterfly just because I love butterflies and am already missing them. The washi tape made the stripes that are part of the sketch from the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 245, which gave me the inspiration for today's card.

A Serene Soiree


 

Some colors are hard to see come together, but once you try them, oh they look beautiful together!

Perhaps I am getting to be bolder with my color choices, and I am loving it. I used the sketch from Sweet Sketch Sunday Challenge 241. I liked the focal point being the Gold Soiree Specialty DSP for its delicate and balance the boldness of the Elegant Eggplant. The Butterfly is the little special touch from Serene Silhouettes stamp set that always speaks to me. How can one not like it?

FSM 130, DD 97 - Label Something

Greetings,

    

I can hardly believe I almost missed the Freshly Made Sketch this week. I love their sketches and I love to combine challenges. This time, I am pairing it with Dynamic Duos challenge to create this card for a young girl whom will celebrate her birthday this week. The Label Something stamp set has the lovely greeting that I need for this car and the banners from Sale-A-Bration was pulled out from my stash to give a little detail to the card. I hope this card will bring a smile to the little birthday girl's face as well as yours.

Our weekend was a busy one. Saturday we barely stayed in, as we attended two separated events that took all day and then the evening. So, Sunday was a day for me to catch up with some house duties, but also I reserved time to play. As I have the privilege, as a demonstrator, to pre-order new catalog items and also get the Sale-A-Bration items in my hands, I decide to play with that. The Banner Blast is a great stamp set and it also has a punch to go with it. I also used the Fresh Prints DSP stack paper, which I love it. A bit of ribbon and this charming card was together in no time. I am entering it at the Unscripted Sketches challenge and hope you will enjoy it and take a minute to share some love.
