A begginers' nest


The biggest new begging of anyone's life is getting married, in my humble opinion. We learn and grow so much by sharing our lives with someone else. It is challenging yet the rewards of the growth we obtain is priceless.

Since we are in the summer and people are getting married all over the place, I prepared a wedding/bridal shower for The Paper Players challenge 251 today. The stamp set My Friend has been retired for a bit now, but it has not grown old. The main image is from the World of Dreams stamp set. Those two little birds in the nest look so loving, how can I resist? The sentiment is also from yet another retired set, the Loving Thoughts. The Mint Macaron strip was embossed using the new Elegant Dots; on the foliage, I wanted a more subtle and soft effect, and i got that by "brushing" the ink pad over the image, rather than inking as we normally do. I just put it on top of the image and drag it using only one edge to ink the stamp.

Dig that stash, yet again.


Wow, after a hard, busy, and long week, it ended in a big and high note. Literally. My daughter was in a violin workshop Friday and Saturday. We both were elated by the whole experience, despite her being with such a nasty cough.

Memories we created and will cherish them for a long time. The workshop and summer institutes are exhausting, but so enriching in many ways.  Today's card gives me the opportunity to solidify new memories and also revisit old ones. The beautiful sketch from the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 257 and its simplicity makes for an easy ride. Working out the stash


I know that lately I have made several Sympathy cards, but I like to have them readily available. We all need a sympathy card sooner or later, so having them saves the stress in a difficult moment.

The sketch for today's card is from the Splitcoast stampers SC525 and the layout is simple and elegant. I decided to work out some of my stash, and with the exception of the Calypso Coral cardstock, ink, and Rhinestones, all the other items are retired. The sentiment is from the Loving Thoughts stamp set, which I am glad I kept it, as it is so beautiful. The Tea for Two DSP worked well for the card and the coloring is perfect.

Thoughts of you


 

I was asked for a card to be given to a male whom is battling cancer and unfortunately it appears that his odds are not looking too good. A masculine card can be hard as it is, and in these circumstances, it can be even harder.

However, it is not impossible. I think it is imperative to bring a bit of color to any person who is sick. If the person is in the hospital, it is by nature a colorless environment. For this card I got the color palette from The Paper Players challenge 221 and I deemed it perfect for a masculine card. I love those birds from the Serene Silhouettes, and after many consideration decided on a sentiment from the Loving Thoughts stamp set, which is now retired.

Live life with colors!


08-14        

Who needs only white and black when there are plenty colors to go around? The card today is a combination of colors from the Pals Paper Arts challenge 215 and sketch from Retro Sketch challenge 128. Sentiment from the Loving Thoughts - now retired - is perfect and it tells me to always and forever live colorfuly!


The sketch was simple enough to keep the colors to highlight themselves. Pink and Green, how can one go wrong

SSSC 216 - Loving Thoughts

Greetings!

 

As I looked through the retiring list today, I saw several of my favorites that are going to retire this year. Loving Thoughts stamp set is one of them. I decided right then it was time to stop and go make a card that is going to a good friend that is going through some very difficult time. I needed a sketch and found the perfect one at the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge. I did pull out the beautiful Sweet Sorbet DSP from Sale-A-Bration as I absolutely love that paper. I think the card turned out sweet and soothing and I hope that when she opens the card it brightens her day and bring a smile to her face.

PPA 199, Fusion 8 - Flower Shop

With the arrival of Spring comes new things, ideas, and possibilities. I have been enjoying my mother's visit and also we are able to get out for a walk as the weather is finally on our side. I am also playing with my tools and papers. Today I am entering this card at the Pals Paper Art challenge as well as the Fusion challenge. I pulled out the Flower Shop, Summer Silhouettes, and Loving Thoughts to complete the design. I liked the Memories sentiment as there are always so many wonderful memories to share. What memories can you think of when looking at this card?
