There comes the stork.



Yes, I am still on baby cards mode. Since my friend's baby shower I got several cards made. I really love today's card, so shall we get to it?

Now, perhaps is just the mode in my mind, but when I saw the RetroSketch Challenge 176 I saw a baby card in it! I know, I know. Nonetheless, I figure I would transfer the card from my mind to the paper. I like the results from the combination of the Sweet Lil' Thing DSP,  the Stars Confetti Punch, a bit of the Scallop Edge punch, with the single image of that smart stork from a retired stamp set. I decided on a touch of a pretty ribbon and a perfect bow rather than a sentiment and I think it was a perfect touch.  My friend is having a baby girl, and I think this card can easily be changed to a more girly tones.

To you my friend!

We all have that special friend in our lives that have shared moments, secrets, laughter, and cries with us at one point or another. Today, in addition to celebrating those friends, I wish to celebrate those that have being directly affected by the September 11th event. Despite of the many losses, let's all celebrate life!

As we recollect that tragic day, let us not forget of any and all good that came from that. There is always something good to learn from even the most horrible situations. I know friendships and love got stronger, life became that more important, and the little things in life have taken the center stage.

This card is a simple, but a to the point card. The inspiration from it came from Dostamper Stars Challenge 98, and from Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge 184. I invite you to visit the Memory of 911 Subway art Template to get your free poster. For the Stars banner I used the new Confetti Stars  punch on a 1-1/4" strip of Real Red. That was the perfect size to give me an edge on both top and bottom of the punched image. The Lucky Stars TIEF on Lost Lagoon gives a nice touch. I have used the Stippled Blossoms stamp set many times, but never in blue. And you know what? I love it! The sentiment is from Let Your Hair Down stamp set.

Christmas in August? Not really, but cute enough to be!



When wondering where summer went, I cannot help but think it left last year and never came back! So, we may as well start thinking about Christmas. With the new Holiday Catalog to be released in a couple of days, I am sure most of you are anxious to get your hands on new products. Oh, the perks of being a demonstrator is that we get to order those products ahead of time! And the best part: we get to play with them too!!

I tried to stay true to the sketch from The Paper Players challenge 210 and I think I got it for most part I did. The Confetti Stars Punch Border is absolutely fantastic. To go with that I used the also new Lucky Stars TIEF. Simple and striking!

Tips and Tricks:
  • I did not add texture over the area I punched the stars. Instead I set the paper offset in the folder and ran it through.
  • The Festival of Trees and the coordinating Tree Punch are fantastic and I know this one will be used over and over again.
