Greetings dear Friends and Readers,

This past week, turning to crafting has been essential as my husband lost his father after years of dealing with many health problems. We know he is resting now.

I found some time to craft a bit and that was wonderful to get the mind a bit more relaxed. I created the card for the Dostamper Stars 266 and could not pass on the opportunity of using the Beautiful Peacock stamp set along with the embossing paste and mask. Honestly, I never thought I would like the paste that much as it seems messy, but I got the hang of it and love it.

Now, when using the paste and stencils, there are few things to take in consideration:

- Keep a shallow tube with water and a drop of soap nearby. As you use the stencils and tools, place it in the water immediately. Makes for a much easier clean up;
- Go easy on adding color. The saturation can happen rather quickly and it may makes for a waste of good paste. In today's card, I used a tool to dab on the ink pad and then add to the paste, making sure to clean the paste as more ink was added. A drop of ink from the reinker bottle can turn the paste very dark;
- Cover your work surface. Again, makes for an easier clean up;
- Give time for the paste to dry before completing the project. I did the paste first, set it aside and work on the other components of the card before adhering it all.

Hello dear Readers and friends,

I believe the majority of the country is now enjoying a bit more mild temperatures and we are all welcoming that. After a run of 14 days of brutally cold temperatures, we finally caught a break and this week are enjoying above 32F temperatures. Not the normal for this time of the year, but I will take it.

I worked on a card for the DoStamper Stars 264 this week, but I must say I made 3 cards before I settled, because I kept using more colors than just the ones for the challenge. Here is my take.

The happy hues of Bermuda Bay goes very well with the Basic Black and Whisper White. Besides, it make me think of some warm paradise calling my name. I did use the Sale-A-Bration ribbon yet again. I told you I love it. The background was put together and then given texture using the Layered Leaves 3D DTIEF. I love the depth it gives to any layers and how makes the projects came alive. The images are from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits, which super pops up against the Whisper White background. The card would not be complete without Rhinestones to give a bit of pizzazz.

Heartfelt Beauty

 Hello Friends and Readers,

Oh my, I was busy at my craft room doing some commissioned work and I also had time to play a bit with the new catalog supplies as well as Sale-A-Bration items. I love the new catalogs.

The Heartfelt Blooms stamp set is very delicate and I love the sentiments fonts that go beautifully well with the image. The image was stamped a few times but not in its entirety. I like having partial images, which I would never think about doing few years ago. The sentiment and its back was cut using the Ovals framelits. I did this card in a monochromatic way using just the ribbon that is also from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. Trust me, you want the ribbons in your stash. They are all beautiful and so soft. Perfect for bows. I like the combination of Calypso Coral and Basic Gray as they complement each other well and the Whisper White provides the perfect background.

Happy New Year my dear friends and readers!

The time went by without me noticing and got away from me all too fast. Lots of things were going on at the same time and I had little time free on my hands. I think that most have calmed down and I am excited to spend time in my craft studio having fun creating and sharing with you.

For today I worked on a card based on the Dostamper Stars 263 which is a simple sketch but gave me enough to create this card that is going to a very special lady that has made a huge impact in the art in our community. I hope she enjoys the card.

I used the Daisy Delight stamp set, the sentiment from Flourishing Phrases stamp set and the ribbon is from the Sale-A-Bration catalog starting January 3rd, 2018, and can be yours with yours for FREE with your $50 purchase. It has a shimmer to it and come accompanied by a Basic Grey and Bermuda Bay ribbons in different width. I have use all three of them and love them all. The background is from the Delightful Daisy DSP, which is rather lovely.
