Spring Sampler

Image may contain: text

The first day of Spring has arrived and it appears that brought Spring weather along. Beautiful sunny days has bathed us and the birds are happy making nests, singing, dancing in the air. What a blessing to wake up, hear this wonderfully beautiful music, seeing all the beauty around us, and having an eternal hope for a fantastic season.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, all occasions card, best birds stamp set, hardwood background stamp, big shot, swirly scribbles thinlits, birds & blooms thinlits, flourish thinlits, detailed dragonfly thinlits, beautiful wings, itty bitty shapes punch, su

In a glorious homage to Spring, I made this card to participate in the DoStamper Stars 223. A sampler of what Spring will bring forth. The Best Birds stamp set provided the beautiful and delicate cherry blossom, the Detailed Dragonfly thinlits gave the bee new heights;  the Birds & Blossoms thinlits brought the bird in search for the ideal place for its new nest; the Flourish thinlits reminded us of all the leaves that soon will show its spectacular hues of green; the Beautiful Wings Embossilit, retired, but still fantastic, gave me the right size butterfly, and the final touch came from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, also retired. All of them perfectly nested in the Swirly Scribbles thinlits. Oh, I love Spring and Summer. I have been watching a couple of birds making a nest in our back porch. They are busy at work and we sure are happy and honored to have them so close to us.

Thank you so much for visiting today. Happy Spring to all. Be well

Miriam

Busy season, pretty nature.

Well, I am getting on the hang of the routine again, but this week there are lots going on. This time of the year gets so busy we hardly have time to enjoy it all. And, on top of it all, we got some snow accumulation on Sunday. First of the season. It was a heavy, wet snow, so the trees looked magically beautiful. I do not enjoy the cold weather, but times like this I can see and appreciate the beauty it creates.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, mm, christmas card, swirly scribbles thinlits, pretty pines framelits, perfect polka dot, big shot, hardwood background stamp, su

I cannot create such magical sight, however, I can create some card using that as part of inspiration. I made this card for the MM 477 and I am rather happy with the result. I enjoyed combining the Swirly Scribbles and the Pretty Pines framelit. I did not add a sentiments, as I think it certainly was not needed. The ribbon and bow, well, that's another story all together.  I have that sheer ribbon stashed away and it was a perfect match for today's card. I think I have in mind who will be getting this one in the mail. Maybe I will repeat it and make a few more!

Thank you for visiting today. It is always good to have you over. Please come again. Be well

Miriam

Country looking.

PPA250

Well, I am flying solo this week as my husband has a business trip all week. I hope that I can keep the household running smoothly and that there will be time for some crafting too.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, ppa 250, all occasions card, hardwood background stamp, butterfly basics stamp set, big shot, deco labels collections, best year ever accessory pack, su

How about this color combination from Pals Paper Arts challenge 250?  I like it and went for a neutral look that can go either feminine or masculine. Notice the lack of sentiment, so it can be for any and all occasion. Got have such cards handy for those last minute needs. I truly like background stamps as they can change the cardstock so much and so fast. The ferns are from the Beautiful Butterflies, as well as the butterfly itself. The Deco Labels paired well with the colors, and wood grain looks. A touch of ribbon will the look.
Wishing a fantastic week, full of wonderful surprises, and new life lasting memories.

Color changing? Well, then, color the world!

Yes, Autumn is in the air and for those of us residing on northern states that reality brings back memories of a, not so long ago, brutal winter.  While the weather permits, we enjoy the outdoor and the changing of colors that are now becoming more visible. Then we can head out to our craft room and make cards and other projects mimicking the colors of the season.

MM 362, Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stmapin up, demonstrator, mm, color me autumn dsp, hardwood background stamp, little letters framelit, su

A clean sketch from Mojo Monday challenge 362 and a walk around the neighborhood was all I needed... other than cool tools and supplies, of course.

Tips & Tricks:
  • The Very Vanilla layer was stamped with the Hardwood background stamp in Mossy Green.
  • Those beautiful letters are easily done with the Little Letters Framelit!
  • The beautiful bow is easily done using my Bow Maker!

Sneak Peek - Good Greetings

Nothing like seeing something new every now and then. The Occasions catalog will be available a bit sooner this year and one of the privileges of being a demonstrator is that we can acquire new catalog product sooner. I receive my Good Greetings stamp set, which will be available at the 2014 Occasions Catalog and I want to make a card with that.

I turned the sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches 145 challenge, but kept it true to the elements.

Tips and Tricks:
  • To cut the tails of the banner, I simply used the Hexagon punch.
