Going soon.

Dear Friends and Readers,


The joke is certainly on us. It is mid April and we were hit with a winter storm that left us with several inches of snow to remove. We are all so tired of this weather. On the plus side, I had plenty time over the weekend to craft, clean up my craft area, make room for new catalog items, and enjoy time with my family.

The Retiring list has been up since the 9th, and I hope you had time to check it and also note the products that you love and that will retire. You do not want to miss this last chance to get them.



Today I am presenting a card using products soon to be retired, following DoStamper Stars 278. Oh, how I have loved the Definetely Dahlia, and I will continue to love it and use it. I am also using here the Birthday Blossoms for the foreground image and sentiments. The flowers and the leaves I stamped and then added color using aqua painter that was drained so the wetness that remained was enough to make the color move. The colors on this card - Chocolate Chip, Marina Mist, and Always Artichoke - are also retiring, but not Crushed Curry.

Gorgeous!

A trip to the farmers market on Tuesday, got me 18 tomato plants, cilantro, parsley, lavender, and oregano. Oh, I love going to the farmers market and enjoying the beautiful plants at this time of the year. Everything is gorgeous.

Another thing that is gorgeous is the Beautiful You stamp set. I was not sure at first, but then it grew on me and I love using it. The sentiments are equally good. For today's DoStamper Stars 231, I also used the Definitely Dahlia background stamp, and for the corner details I used the Sealed With Love stamp set. This was not doe using watercolor paper, however I did use the watercolor brush to color the dress and the hat. Now, if you use your watercolor brush on regular Very Vanilla or Whisper White, just make sure to keep the tip a bit on the drier side or the paper can peel, rendering your hard work less than perfect.

I propose a Toast!

Welcome August! I can certainly appreciate how nice our weather has been lately and it made me think of the people getting married this time of the year. I got married on the first day of summer and, despite the wind, it was a nice, beautiful day. We were able to enjoy the festivities and the moment.

For the couples tying the knot, here is a card for you. I love the Definitely Dahlia background stamp and, despite the simplicity of the card, I think it turned out rather striking. The color combo from the CCMC 366 goes together with perfection. I use the sentiment from the Happy Notes stamp set cut out using the Lots of Labels framelits. A touch of candy dots and the card is ready to add another smile on the happy couple's face.

Dahlia

Do these colors look like your neighborhood? In a way, it does look like mine. My neighbor has some blue flowers, I have roses that are red, and the green is lush everywhere. I love summer!

That said, these colors from Dostamper Stars challenge 141 did not scare me at all. The Definitely Dahlia background stamp looks stunning in red, don't you think? The Dots for Days background worked well enough to almost look like small leaves, or perhaps grass, even. That bit of Pacific Point is my blue sky that brings us all warmth and wonder. It is amazing, just like that little bow that was easy put together using My Bow Maker.

Happily getting well.



Lately has been a series of things that took place in my life that helped me to get an additional dose of perspective. The things cannot be changed, but they were a wonderful learning lesson. No matter how bad the event, there is always something to learn.

After thinking about it all long and hard, I finally made peace with it and I am now feeling better. Finding peace was all I need to move on and get a bit more cheerful. Therefore, after seeing the color challenge from The Paper Players, I quickly put this Feel Better card together. I love the new Definitely Dahlia background stamp, which I stamped and fussy cut it. The background layer was stamped using the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set, the sentiment is from Sassy Salutations and the Elegant Dots TIEF gave a subtle texture to the background, setting it apart. I sure am feeling better and hope you are all doing fantastically well too.
