Sand, Beach, and Sun.

Yes please. I can use all that and then some. We are still dealing with a very moody mother nature that cannot decide if we shall have hot or cold. Over the weekend we reached 80F, and yesterday we did not get pass 50F. Incredible. Oh well.

A girl, can, however, dream of beautiful weather, spectacular sunsets, sand, and the gentle warm breeze from the ocean that it is to me as wonderful as a hug. I made this card inspired by these dreams and by the Free for All challenge 273 from Splitcoast Stampers. I used the soon to retire By the Seashore stamp set and the back panel I stamped with The Open Sea stamp set. The texture on the background is from the Square Lattice TIEF, which is also taking its leave from the catalog. A bit of fussy cutting and the shell and star added a bit dimension to this card.  I really like the looks of this card and I cannot imagine a lady or a gentleman that would not feel a gentle tropical breeze when they open the envelope. May the good winds come our way!

Back on track.

Here comes another Monday and it will be a fantastic day and week. While things may not go as planned, I have determined that this week will be wonderful!

As part of making it all better, I am back on track with my running and having my calories monitored. After a week of vacation and doing nothing, I need to recover from that. It is just perfect that the Free for All challenge 256 from Splitcoast Stampers called for a cutting back calories theme. I liked it and then combined with the Sketch Challenge 523 also from Splitcoast Stampers to make today's card. I used some retired DSP and the stamp set is also retired. I did a fussy cutting for the sentiment and popped it with for an extra 3D. The bow was just hard to resist, and I think it looks perfect.

Calming thoughts.

And if it is to start the New Year right, let's calm our thoughts and hearts so we can think clearly and make wiser choices and decisions.

As I start the New Year, I am not about to set up a list of resolutions. I think sometimes I can get lofty ideas and set myself up to be disappointed. Instead, I will work on the things that are closer and dearer to me. Like family, good friends, and being productive. This card is for the Free for All challenge 254 from Splitcoaster Stampers. I kept my card simple but I think the end result is rather striking. The main flower is from the Crazy About you stamp set from the Occasions Catalog and the side branches are from the World of Dreams set. The sentiment is from an old and retired set, however I love the font and thought it went well with the flowers. I am thinking of you and I am thankful that you stopped by today.
