I think a card that is a bit tricky to make is a retirement card. I wanted to make a retirement card using the Dostamper Stars Challenge 093 and the Try Stampin on Tuesday Challenge 179 as my starting point. I like to make cards that hold a bit of surprise, so rather than just stating the fact, I went with the sentiment from the See Ya Later stamp set, now retired.
Instead of using card stock, I used the Sweet Taffy DSP for the patterned papers. All three DSP were from the Sweet Taffy DSP. I love when I can get it all from one single package of paper.
Tips and Tricks:
- Before inking the stamp, I covered the Alligator with tape, inked the stamp, removed the tape, and then stamped. I find it easier and faster than using a marker.
- The bow was easily made using my Bow Maker. Got love that tool!

ReplyDeleteHow did you make the mat for the sentiment piece? I don't see any "breaks" where it could be cut!
ReplyDeleteThank you Gramma V. I did cut the black piece in half. The trick is in positioning the sentiment piece to match the mat on the lower panel. The cut part matches with the bottom mat, and therefore it looks like on piece rather than a cut one. Does that make sense?
