Wonder in the garden



Nothing like enjoying good health. Life is back to normal and we have the trims in our house being painted. We were very brave and went for a bold bright color. Give a bit of splash in the neighborhood.

For today's card, I did not go for the same bold colors as my house. Instead, as I looked at the sketch from Dostamper Stars 183, I decided that I want to use the Rose Wonder framelit nestled in the circle. I love how it turned out and how the rose is beautifully framed. The Mossy Meadow panel is embossed with Elegant Dots TIEF and the background is from the Farmers Market DSP. I like having some sort of neutral color, the Early Espresso works well with greens and yellows, so it was an easy choice. The beautiful ribbon add the touch and the Perfect Bow finished the looks.

Butterflies? Where?


I am enjoying seeing and hearing the birds, or at least the brave ones that face the cold air and chirp away anyway. Butterflies, on the other hand, will be a while before we see them.

Very well, then, I will see butterflies one way or another. The sketch from the Mojo Monday 422 gave a wild variety and it was a work out to settle on the Pretty Petals DSP stack. I noticed that the butterfly image from Serene Silhouettes has been untouched for some time now and the image was a perfect match for the combination of papers I used. I considered adding a sentiment, but in the end left it out. The card itself can be used for many things and dispenses a sentiment.  I added a tad bit of glitter at the center of each of the flowers in the stamped image just for an extra touch. Now I wish for teeny tiny rhinestones. One can dream.

Sad, but memorable.


Our mild weather is now officially history and let's hope it does not take too long before it return to warm our bodies and souls. However, I must say, the bright sunny days sure makes the difference in keeping the moods up.

I am working on getting some cards hand and noticed that I need some sympathy cards. I do not look forward to making or using them, but they have a time to use and I hope that when I send one off, it will bring some beauty and comfort a suffering loved one. The sketch for today's card is from the Mojo Monday challenge 431. I used the Merry Moments DSP for the background. As much as I love the Chevron Ribbons, it makes a bow a bit too bulky for the look I was going for. Summer Silhouette stamp set was used for the image and the sentiment is from the Simply Sketched stamp set. While not a very cheerful card, it is not too sad either. I believe in the importance of remembering the loved one with happiness, so a card that transmits a bit of that is always a blessing.

Another round.


Well, I am still working on birthday cards, but I also held a Christmas cards stamp-a-stack over the weekend at my home. I always have so much fun with the ladies and therefore I worked on some Christmas card too.

I am back on the cards making and hope to get few more done this week. Today's card is my interpretation of the Mojo Monday challenge 419 and I thought a colorful card would be fun considering that the colors here are starting to show, but we know what will follow. I used the Pretty Petals paper stack and the sentiment is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set.

Whole lot of Lovely Colors.



Lovely are colors the enrich our world and lives. I appreciate color and as I walk or drive around I like to observe the colors of nature and how certain combinations go so well together.  Do you like colors?

As I got looking at Dostamper Stars challenge 144, the image of nature came to mind. The greenery, the birds, flowers, butterflies, and all that is alive came to mind. Of course I wish to use hints of nature, then as I looked at my stamp sets I was totally drawn to the A Whole Lot of Lovely hostess stamp set and it was a short search for an image/sentiment, which was heat embossed in Calypso Coral. The background is from the Farmer's Market DSP and I used a bit of embossing for the banner strip, which was nicely cut using the Triple Banner punch. The circle was cut by placing two framelits together to get the open circle. A touch of flower and a bit of pearl and this card can now be giving to a lovely you!

For you, my friend


 

I had few people ask me about cards for people coping with a illness. It is a difficult subject as the ill person has a lot already going on. The color selection has to thread carefully so to neither be too bright not too somber.

I pulled some colors out and my final selection was Lost Lagoon, Chocolate Chip, Pistachio Pudding, and Whisper White. A very nice combination that did not create a heavy feeling to it. The Lovely as a Tree stamp set was perfect, and the Woodgrain TIEF paired up nicely. The sketch is from Retro Sketch Challenge 137 and it certainly was all I needed.

I feel good!



Hope you are feeling very well and not in need of a feel good card. However, I am sending good thoughts your way anyway. Why? Well, because it is my way to thank the universe for all the good that keep on coming my way.

Daffodil Delight and Basic Black never fail to strike me. With these colors I am entering the Fusion Sunflower challenge and honestly I love looking at this card. The sentiment is from the Perfect Pennants and the flowers I got both from the Petite Petals and the Something to Say stamp sets.

Tips & Tricks:
  • The Daffodil Delight base was stamped with the Flowering Flourishes as to create and instant background. Honestly I am not found of either flat or blank background.
  • I stamped and cut the flowers before putting them together. And even them, I first position the    flowers, then place the    flowers in the center. 
  • To obtain the black Pearl, I simply colored it with a Sharpie. The same result can be obtained using any of the Blendabilities.
