A world of thanks.

Over Valentine's Day weekend, we were so busy that I did not have much time to update you in all the happenings. This has been a busy violin time of the year for us with many pieces to polish. One of them was the Bach Double Violin Concert in D Minor, which was for a competition. My daughter was one of the winners and will perform this piece with the other winners and with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. We are truly proud and humbled by her accomplishment.

Let us not forget to be thankful for her dedicated, loving, and firm teacher. She is the best and deserve many, many thanks. As I was preparing to create a card for today's Dostamper Stars challenge 169, I thought about all this and how could I not make a Thank you card? So, I pulled out the A World of Thanks, stamped in Wisteria Wonder and again in Pear Pizzazz. I did do a bit of fussy cutting to pop up that Thank you, add the same colors ribbon and a touch of flowers just for fun. A super simple card but it does deliver the message, don't you think?

I am relieved that finally my computer has come to terms and decide to be nice again. I almost canceled it's Christmas gift!

Let's then go back to normal posts and share some beautiful work. Thanksgiving was busy and we went to visit my in-laws in Indiana,leaving me little time to play in my craft room. Now, I am back and the Dostamper Stars challenge 159 has a wonderful color combination that was rather pleasing to the eye to work on. The Everything Eleanor stamp set gave me the center image, which I embellished with the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack.  As you know I have a crazy passion for ribbons, and this one in Mossy Meadow makes such a beautiful bow that I could not resist. The sides are adorned with Beach House washi tape, which is a nice discreet touch, and I add a center panel with a DSP. A card for any and all occasions, that is sure to please.

To the school.

This week we got ready preparing for the new school year. We have opted to go with a Virtual School this year and we had the Family orientation yesterday. It took all morning and the amount of information is somewhat overwhelming. After all that we were all hungry and ready for a break from all that information overload. Are you preparing for a new school year? How is it coming along?

After lunch we all had time to think about the new school and also get dome ideas flowing. After that I declare it was time to do some creative work and to the basement we went. I receive some supplies yesterday and want to use them.  I want a festive looking card and considering the events of the day, the Schoolhouse DSP was very appropriate. The sketch from Mojo Monday challenge 411 was perfect to use the image from the Bountiful Border stamp set and I add a little perfect bow to give this card all the nice little touch of a perfect bow for a pretty girl's hair.

This was a rather busy weekend for me. I have several things coming up next weekend and I needed to get ready as the week is gearing up to be a busy one too. I prepared over 100 cards for next weekend, some note pad covers, and did a good cleaning in  my craft area.

I feel so energized when I am productive. It pays off to plan and be on top of my game. Anyway, I did prepare a card based on the SSSC 280 using the Timeless Elegance DSP, the Filigree Frame TIEF, a touch of ribbon, and couple hearts. A very simple card for an anniversary or wedding event, that is sure to please bride & groom.

Good things, good deeds, good doers...

... they are everywhere. Despite the depressing news of so much free violence, I see goodness in many ways, shapes, and forms all around us all. There is always someone out there doing a kind deed on a daily basis and so long we all strive to do some good every day, we have the power to make a better world.

For all of us that always find an opportunity to do good, Thank you. This card is for all of us. The colors for the Dostamper Stars challenge 138 are cheerful and make for a great thank you card. I used the Lullaby DSP for the background and a bit of Hello Honey card stock for the flowers. The Birthday Blossoms stamp set was stamped twice to create a fuller foreground. I love this stamp set and those small flowers all together like a carpet of flowers. The sentiment is from the retired Lots of Thanks stamp set. The ribbon is a bit left over from couple of Sale-A-Brations ago that I hoarded... so, why not use it, right?

Celebrate life. Always.

Hello Everyone. Well, this was a busy and very tiresome weekend for my family. We took a short trip to Indiana to see my in-laws and in our way back we were in an accident that totaled our car. It was a very close call and tremendously scary. Fortunately we left the scene standing and with only couple scrapes.

We took time to contemplate the event and to rest a bit. I did go play in my craft room a bit and that was a relaxing way to get my mind a bit distracted and not so edgy. Life is a wonderful gift that we all received and we shall celebrate it each and every day. A birthday card seems fit for a life celebration, and the sketch from The Paper Players challenge 246 was all I need to put this card together quickly. The Label Love stamp set as well as the Back to Black DSP is due to retire on June 2nd and I will miss them deeply. As you craft this week, take a moment to cherish the little things of life that are, in the end, the most precious and important. Celebrate Life!

Hello my lovely people! Another day that we sit patiently and wait for the nice weather to arrive. Honestly, Mother nature we hope and pray that you will feel better soon.

Yes, in our part of the world, the weather is still not Spring like at all. We have gotten mornings below freezing still or near freezing and we are all very sick of it, no pun intended. Then I thought to make a Get Well card to enter in the Dostamper Stars challenge 127 and offer it to Mother Nature in hopes that she will indeed brighten up. I like the sentiment in the Label Bracket Punch as it fits and is evenly distributed. A bit of Six-Sided Sampler, some Itty Bitty Accent and this card is sure to bring a bit of brightness to anyone's day.

Birds and Flowers... Please Spring.

We got hit, yet again, by another cold front. Man, this is the time for those front turn their back on us.

Spring had an early showing around here, but then, all of the sudden took leave on us again and the cold front took over. Honestly, we all have had enough of this cold weather. So, I continue to craft and put my spring thoughts in my cards. Birds and flowers are just couple things that I am craving to see. I borrowed the birds from the retired Modern Medley DSP and the flowers are both from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack and from Flourishes Flowering stamp set. The sketch is from the Pals Paper Players challenge 245 and is simple in itself allowing for a clean card. The simplicity of this card is such that I did look at it for a long time and I can almost feel the ocean breeze, smell the scent of the sea, and have the warmth embrace me whole. A woman can dream!

Congrats.

Yes, the cold got hold of me and I have been feeling wasted over the weekend. I did some house chores, but otherwise I just cannot manage to do much. I tried some crafting in hopes that it would raise my spirits, but I was not able to get much done. Oh well, I sure hope that the good weather stays, so we can all get plenty of fresh air.

One of the cards I prepared is for the Create with Connie and Mary challenge 346. It is a color challenge and the combination is great. I kept the card very simple but I really like the turn out. The Something Borrowed DSP from the Occasions Catalog has beautiful patterns and since the base is Sahara Sand I went for that. Subtly Feminine.

Just when I thought our weather was about to take us into Spring, fierce winter decided to push in yet again. Oh, these temperatures are just not my thing!

Well, then let's play in the craft room! This past weekend it was carnaval in Brazil and it is a time when I miss my homeland. I saw a bit of the parades, but not much. Just enough to warm my heart. The floats and everything was beautiful and very creatively crafted. I picked at some subtle costume and liked the calmness of it in the midst of the excitement and decide that a card could come out of that. The sketch for this card was inspired by the Retro Sketch Challenge 153 and I was happy to create a card that is soft and gentle in a way. I am truly enjoying the new Perpetual Birthday calendar stamp set with its small images and used it in the background here. A bit of washi tape and some retired DSP and this card is ready to find it way to a lovely lady.

Happy New Birthday....

And the last Sunday of 2014 is past and now all the hope is deposit into the New Year. Are you ready for 2015?

I love New Year celebration even though I hardly celebrate the way I used to back in my youth days in Brazil. Sweet Memories! But for today I am just going to participate in the RetroSketch challenge 146, which is the last one of 2014. I set the background with the Typeset DSP and used the Gorgeous Grunge as a background for the Itty Bitty Accent Flowers; both the flowers and sentiment are from the Something to Say stamp set. Now, we can greet 2015 with a cool Happy Birthday card! Let the New Year begin!

2015 Catalog Transition 

As the end of the year approaches, many of you have been asking questions about the new catalog. So, here is a quick reference to help you.

• 2014 Holiday Catalog: Ends January 5
• 2015 Occasions Catalog: Starts January 6 - ends June 2
• 2015 Sale-a-Bration Brochure: Starts January 6 - ends March 31

If you're an active customer with me, your Occasions Catalog and SAB Brochure should be arriving in your mailbox soon (some have already arrived).  Let me just say..."You won't be disappointed!"
As you browse through the 2015 Occasions Catalog, you'll find that a handful of products from the 2014 Holiday Catalog are being featured (in addition to those found on page 49).  However, most will "disappear".

I am getting used to these lazy days, but I know to enjoy a bit of down time, as it is much needed.

Pastel colors are so wonderful to work with and easy to make a fantastic finish. Today's card is based on two inspirations: the Pals Paper Arts Challenge 233 and also Splitcoaster Stampers Ways to Use challenge. I broke open the Crazy About You stamp set and I am loving this great set. Colors are beautiful paired together using the Lullaby DSP, and the beautiful ribbon adds a subtle touch to finish it all up.

Well, the new catalog preview was last night, and those of us that attend the event know we have a reason to be very excited! You will be too.

On today's Dostamper Stars challenge 109 I did not want to make a Christmas card. I like the colors and after a few minutes figure this color combo would yield a beautiful wedding or anniversary card. I put this card together in no time and I truly like how it is so simple, elegant, and rich. The Letterpress Winter Photopolymer stamp set works beautifully with the Filigree Frame TIEF and I love how the Filigree is so versatile. This one is a keeper.  Love it!
