Lovely.


Beautiful weekend and busy getting come yard work done. It feels so nice to get outside, breath some fresh air, feel the warmth of the sun and enjoy my family. This was a lovely weekend.

I did not get much time to spend in my craft room. Worked all day outside on Saturday and took my daughter to a violin recital in the evening. We got to see Hillary Hahn play and it was so beautiful and smooth, surreal. Sunday was our usual rest day, but I got to make couple of cards. This one is for The Paper Players 292 and I want to send this to mother nature for giving us such beauty to enjoy. The stamp set is the A Whole lot of Lovely, which I framed in the circle layered in scalloped circle punches. That beautiful paper is Park Lane dsp, and I am glad I had a bit of it left. You see, you get this products that are ready to retire and you can enjoy them for a bit longer. Take advantage and get your favorites while they last.

Whole lot of Lovely Colors.



Lovely are colors the enrich our world and lives. I appreciate color and as I walk or drive around I like to observe the colors of nature and how certain combinations go so well together.  Do you like colors?

As I got looking at Dostamper Stars challenge 144, the image of nature came to mind. The greenery, the birds, flowers, butterflies, and all that is alive came to mind. Of course I wish to use hints of nature, then as I looked at my stamp sets I was totally drawn to the A Whole Lot of Lovely hostess stamp set and it was a short search for an image/sentiment, which was heat embossed in Calypso Coral. The background is from the Farmer's Market DSP and I used a bit of embossing for the banner strip, which was nicely cut using the Triple Banner punch. The circle was cut by placing two framelits together to get the open circle. A touch of flower and a bit of pearl and this card can now be giving to a lovely you!

Birds and Flowers... Please Spring.

We got hit, yet again, by another cold front. Man, this is the time for those front turn their back on us.

Spring had an early showing around here, but then, all of the sudden took leave on us again and the cold front took over. Honestly, we all have had enough of this cold weather. So, I continue to craft and put my spring thoughts in my cards. Birds and flowers are just couple things that I am craving to see. I borrowed the birds from the retired Modern Medley DSP and the flowers are both from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack and from Flourishes Flowering stamp set. The sketch is from the Pals Paper Players challenge 245 and is simple in itself allowing for a clean card. The simplicity of this card is such that I did look at it for a long time and I can almost feel the ocean breeze, smell the scent of the sea, and have the warmth embrace me whole. A woman can dream!

Polka dot madness!

I am going on a strike! Yes, against the weather. It is not even December and our thermometer is not looking good at all. This morning it read -14C, which is about 10F. We have some snow on the ground, and the wind is too fierce. I have not left my house since Wednesday last week!

But, that does not stop me from crafting and meeting up with friends. I have a busy week with club and my last Holiday stamp-a-stack class. I held three this year and had a blast each time. Hence me not posting anything over the weekend. Today I went back to my craft room and saw the Mojo Monday challenge 372 and also the Pals Paper Arts challenge 227. That was all the ingredients I need to kill my craving for a fun card. I chose to have mostly DSP used for this one and the Flower Pot and Sweet Taffy DSP had the colors I need and they all had polka dots. The sentiment is from I Like You hostess stamp set and the flower is from the medium size stamp from the Flowering Flourishes set. I like the turn out and so did my daughter! I hope you will too.
