Summer, I am here!

Wonderful Summer Solstice and we are ready for lots of fun under the sun. We have been very busy with some serious projects in our home and it has taken all my free time, but it is all worth in the end. For now, let's talk something not stressful, like making beautiful cards.

For Dostamper Stars 236, the colors challenge took me by surprise, but I quickly saw the beautiful colors coming together. The background in Calypso Coral was given texture with the new Garden Trellis TIEF. Love that new texture. But before doing that I stamped the card stock using the same flower as the image in the front - from You've Got This stamp set - in Calypso Coral, just for the fun of it. The image and sentiment are all from the same set. I did fussy cut the flower, which was colored using the Watercolor Pencils. I think the light color made it so gentle and inviting.

Fur You!

Wow, we got a wonderful heat wave this past week and we have enjoyed the warmth and time spent outdoors. We have also been busy with few Senior Violin Recitals from students that we have been seeing for the past 8 years. My daughter played in 2 and we still have one more before the end of the month. It is a wonderful celebration in the lives of all the students and an honor to play alongside them.

Hence me using the all new Sheet Music stamp set. For those musically inclined, the music in this stamp is called Fur Elise a beautiful composition indeed. The DoStamper Stars 235 is the sketch inspiration for today's project. For the images I used the Remarkable You stamp set and fussy cut both the leaves and flower. I then used pencil to color the images for an added touch. The glitter ribbon add a nice brightness to the card, which since it was sponged sure has a touch of age to it. The little bit pearls finish the card off with a delicate flair.

Life is a celebration.

I am so happy to being able to open my window and appreciate the warmth of the air, the song of the birds, and the beauty of the season. Lately we have had so many canaries in our backyard that they just bring so many happiness into my heart. The birds have been nesting in our garden and other spots in the back and front yard. It is lovely to see how busy they are and how they simply celebrate life itself.

The new In Colors are superb. I have been using them all and can hardly get enough. Today's inspiration from DoStamper Stars 234 is precisely the new In Colors and for that I chose the Tranquil Tide as a background color. It sure makes the Peekaboo Peach pop, doesn't it? The cut outs are from the Swirly Scribles thinlits and the sentiment is from the Celebrate Today stamp set now retired. I add a bit of the Burlap ribbon and Perfect Polka Dot texture for a even more natural looks. The birds making their neat tidy nests and celebrating life. This card goes to them all.
