Here, Birdie.

Hello dear friends and readers,

First day of Spring, and I do not believe this weather does justice. I am sure we are all ready for some nice warm weather to enjoy the outdoors and have some fresh air throughout the house. I know all the creatures out there are ready for it too.

Birds are coming already and I can hear them in the morning and see them busy at work getting ready for their matting season. I love the birds. Can you tell?

For the DoStamper Stars 274 I could not help but select birds for the card. The images are from Best Birds which has a matching framelits, got love that. This is a simple to make card, just take a few steps. The background was sponged using So Saffron, Soft Suede, and Bermuda Bay. I kept it light, because I just did not want a complete white background. The bird was stamped, colored, then cut. I used some Prismacolor pencils color it, since I did not want to water color. The small flowers are also part of the set and those I colored the center of them using our Watercolor Pencil and used a wet brush to give the color it full value and to spread around a bit. I love how they turned out. If you like to color images that you will cut out, I strongly suggest that you color first, then cut. You will have some surface to hold on to and that will make coloring a breeze.

Thank you for visiting today. Be well

Miriam

Summer, I am here!

Image may contain: text

Wonderful Summer Solstice and we are ready for lots of fun under the sun. We have been very busy with some serious projects in our home and it has taken all my free time, but it is all worth in the end. For now, let's talk something not stressful, like making beautiful cards.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, all occasions card, you've got this stamp set, big shot, garden trellis tief, watercolor pencil, su

For Dostamper Stars 236, the colors challenge took me by surprise, but I quickly saw the beautiful colors coming together. The background in Calypso Coral was given texture with the new Garden Trellis TIEF. Love that new texture. But before doing that I stamped the card stock using the same flower as the image in the front - from You've Got This stamp set - in Calypso Coral, just for the fun of it. The image and sentiment are all from the same set. I did fussy cut the flower, which was colored using the Watercolor Pencils. I think the light color made it so gentle and inviting.

Hope you enjoyed. Please do come again. Be well

Miriam

Get well soon.

There has been such a wonderful weather lately, but we also have had few friends that had family or friends passing and that has been hard to see. We have few people that are ill, so I took a break from Sympathy card and made a Get Well card.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demostrator, pp, get well, pretty petals dsp, touches of texture, thoughts & prayers, penned & painted stamp set, watercolor pencil, su

It is hard to be ill, but it sure helps to receive a handmade card. I prepare today's card using The Paper Players 341 as my inspiration.  I have some lovely Pretty Petals DSP stashed away and I used that as my background. For the image, I used Touches of Texture and Penned & Painted stamp sets. Both of them are just very lovely and I am sad to see the Penned & Painted being retired. I love this set and will keep it for my personal use.  The little flowers in Daffodil Delight were colored using the Watercolor Pencils and the leaves were colored in Old Olive also using the Watercolor pencils. The sentiment is from Thoughts & Prayers stamp set. I covered part of the sentiment so I could get only the get well soon part of it. A simple card sure to bring a cheer to anyone feeling a bit down.

Thank you for visiting today. Hope to see you soon. Be well

Miriam

Gentle Pastels.

Image may contain: text and food

Greetings my dear readers and friends. This has been a very windy week, and one can only take so much of this. The birds are nowhere to be seen, and I am doing the same. Staying put and not enjoying the wind blowing through. One of the panels on my fence were blown away and is now on the ground. I sure hope the wind dies down very soon.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, get well, best birds stamp set, birds & blooms thinlits, watercolor pencil, big shot, su

Well, I let my Best Birds out of the case and made this beautiful and gentle card. The soft pastels colors of the inspiration were so beautiful and it made me think of the early Spring colors that are normally so gentle but bring so much happiness to our hearts. I have a friend going through some difficult time, so I think this card will bring her a bit of tenderness. I did not cut out every branch, instead I stamped them directly onto the Very Vanilla base and cut one out, coloring them all and the bird with with the beautiful new Watercolor Pencils a bit darker than the other. The bird was also cut out using the matching Birds & Blooms thinlits and both were popped up using Dimensional. This a quick, simple, but very pretty card that can be put together in no time.

Thank you for coming over. I hope you enjoyed the project and found inspirations to create something beautiful. Be well

Miriam
