Weather inspiration.

Hello my dear friends and readers,

Well, we caught somewhat of a break from the extreme temperatures allow for the snow to come and pay us a visit. It is supposed to get around 44F on Wednesday, which being so, will take care of the snow and green shall be with us again. Snow is pretty, I know, but it gets so old...

I have been spending time crafting and it is so much fun to be back. Today I made this card using only the Falling Flowers stamp set and the May Flowers matching framelits. I love to use one set at a time as it gives me a much greater appreciation to it, and this set did not let me down. I used inspiration from the current landscape and general lack of colors, which are neutral but with a striking result.The leaf cut out is on Soft Suede and the flowers cut out is on Crumb Cake, which were stamped in Soft Suede. I also lightly sponged the sides as to give a bit aged looks to it. Honestly I love the looks of the card and this one can cover a lot of ground in my eyes, so no sentiment is better. Maybe I will be doing more of one stamp set cards.

It is here.

Pals Paper Arts PPA301

It is for real now.. or so we think. Spring have arrived and brought some nice and hot weather along. Over the weekend and on Monday it was rather nice, and we all enjoyed the sunshine, warm temperatures, and beauty all over.

Weekend was busy for me. With Farmer's Market on Saturday I was left with little free time to spare and could not play in my craft room. But today I decided I need that as I am a bit under the weather. I made this card for the Pals Paper Players 301 and those colors go together beautifully. I tried to use only one stamp set, but in the end, I was not able to. Images and sentiment are from the Flower Patch stamp set. The flower was cut using the matching framelits. The splash of Crushed Curry is from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. I never thought I would use and love this set so much. If I am not adding texture to a card, I like to add something as to eliminate the empty spaces. I think Mother Nature deserves this card.

A bit to enjoy.



I am very thankful that our weather got a bit warmer over the weekend and I am now ready to get started with my seeds for my garden. Are you planting a garden this year?

Well, a Thank you card seems adequate, don't you think? I got the sketch from the RetroSketch challenge 203 and decided to go with bold colors. Guess what? The Bohemian DSP is as bold as it gets, and I had some stripes cut out already, making this card a snap to put together. Considering the "funky" feel of the layout and Bohemian DSP, the Sassy Salutation blended right in and the touch of the Gorgeous Grunge also gave a nice touch. Since there is a lot already in this card, I went for the gorgeous Bermuda Bay ribbon and it balanced out the other elements. Now, using buttons is something that I am working on it, so instead I went for the White Perfect Accents, which besides being beautiful it is also flat, which makes mailing a bit easier.

HBD 2 U



This week, as I worked on my basement and got some stuff that need to find a new home, I got my hand rammed on the door knob and the pain was absolutely excruciating. I tended to my hand immediately with ice and I could not even feel the cold of the ice pack. My husband got me some sports tape and that kept the hand from becoming completely black and blue. I am glad to say that the ice, the tape, and essential oils took care of my hand and I am now pain free.


I am mostly done with moving stuff and re-arranging the basement, and find it a bit difficult to be creative when there is some disorder around me. Nonetheless I was able to prepare a card for today's challenge. I almost completed the card without any stamp, but the white was too white, and I used the Gorgeous Grunge to break a bit of it with the Daffodil Delight ink pad. I stamped the streak stamp one time on the horizontal and then on the vertical until all the area was covered.  The stripes in Pacific Point was adhered into place prior to cutting the letters and I wish for a colorful background. Then I cut the "2" and "D" on Whisper White before adhering it to the Pacific Point layer. This would be the perfect card for a young gentleman celebrating another great year.

May Flowers? Well, make it April.


 

After Thursday's torrential rains, and a gloomy Friday, the skies opened up and we had am absolutely gorgeous weekend. Saturday was a beautiful sunny day, and Sunday was not to a disappointment either, just a bit more breeze.

And with the good weather yesterday, we were all able to enjoy a wonderful birthday party of a wonderful little girl. The weather was perfect, the children played and played outside, while the adults had the chance to chat, mingle, and enjoy the fresh air too. The card you see today I prepare for the birthday girl, using both The Paper Players challenge 240 and the Sweetest Sunday Sketch challenge 264.  I wanted a more modern sentiment, and the Birthday Bash was called to the job along with the Labels Collection framelits. She loved it, and so did we. Did you notice that speckled background? Well it is called Gorgeous Grunge and I truly love this set!

MDS (My Digital Studio) is being discontinued as of 5/31.  
Per Stampin' Up!, the MDS software will continue to work.  However, you will want to save and back up any digital downloads you have purchased and save them to your hard drive before 5/31.  The last day to access support for MDS, purchase downloads and use Stampin' Up! print services is May 31, 2015.  After that time, MDS and support for MDS will no longer be available. 


The annual Stampin' Up! retired list is coming April 21st.  That's when we have to say good-bye to some beloved products to make room for the new.  The only products I know for sure will be on that list are the 2013-2015 In Color product line.They are a beautiful color set, and I know I will miss them. But, there is still time to stock up to have these lovely colors.

DSC#123-Color

Another week has gone by and I feel like I hardly got everything done. However, it has been a fun busy and seeing the children so happy it pays all off. Of course having a visit from Spring weather was just the perfect icing on the cake.

Based on the Dostamper Stars challenge 123, I created today's card being careful not to overuse the rich colors. I like all the colors in this challenge, but it can be tricky for me to put them together, so I went the safe route and made good use of Whisper White cardstock. The Petite Petals stamp set has the ideal size to embellish the Gorgeous Grunge background.  I stamped the Gorgeous Grunge in both Hello Honey and Rich Razzleberry, and the flowers in Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey. The sentiment from And Many More was stamped in Rich Razzleberry. I like the subtle look of these rich colors. Do you?

I love New Year celebration even though I hardly celebrate the way I used to back in my youth days in Brazil. Sweet Memories! But for today I am just going to participate in the RetroSketch challenge 146, which is the last one of 2014. I set the background with the Typeset DSP and used the Gorgeous Grunge as a background for the Itty Bitty Accent Flowers; both the flowers and sentiment are from the Something to Say stamp set. Now, we can greet 2015 with a cool Happy Birthday card! Let the New Year begin!
