Who touched the thermostat?

Well, our late Spring weather came to a brutal stop, bringing a winter storm, some snow, ice, and the like. I do not like any of that, but living in WI we are only expect to wait for such conditions.

The drop in temperatures and changing of seasons bring forth illness. My father-in-law was hospitalized on Saturday with a severe dehydration, with symptoms that looked like a stroke. Fortunately that was not so. Besides him, there has been other people that had encountered other health issues, and that called for me to prepare some Get Well cards. Today I am using the Pals Paper Players challenge 281 and also two new products: the First Sight stamp set, and the Wildflower Fields dsp that will be yours for free with your $50 purchase during sale-a-bration. The sentiment used is from the Perfect Pennants stamp set which was cut using the Lots of Labels framelits. I think this will cheer up an abated love one in a bit.

Please be well.

As we drove around today, running errands before going to a church festival that is right by our house, we saw a homeless young lady at an intersection. A beautiful young lady and I gave her something to, if nothing else, ward off the hunger on her stomach. I felt really bad for seeing her in that situation, which I dare not to judge. I sure hope that good winds will blow her way and provide her with great opportunities.

I made this card thinking of that young lady. I am thinking and sending good thoughts her way and I hope they reach her. The sketch is from the Splitcoast Sketch Challenge 548 and with all those layers I thought it to be layers of energy enveloping each one of us. I use retired DSP as I thought the warmth of the colors match the warm weather. The sentiment is from Perfect Pennants stamp set.

Good thoughts.

What happened this week? I do not know, but it certainly moved way too fast. I guess we were so busy to realize the passing of time.

Closing the week with a bit if color is always a plus and considering our mild weather lately, this is just a bit of Spring calling on my part. For today's card, the color pallet come from the Color Challenge 581 from Splitcoast Stamper and I want to make a Get Well/Thinking of you card with it. Creative Elements stamp set gave me the background and the Perfect Pennants the sentiment. I could not pass on adding a bit of ribbon and a perfect bow, which I used My Bow Maker to make it. I hope the recipient gets the good vibe of this card!

Colorful wish

The colors of Fall this year are so intense and beautiful. There is a street near my home that its colors during this time of the year take my breath away.

The beautiful and contrasting colors gave me inspiration for the colors I chose today to play along with the Dostamper Stars Challenge 103. The Flower Pot and Park Lane DPS have beautiful colors and textures, making it very hard to pick one.  Then, the subtle yellow from the So Saffron made it all bright and crisp. The sentiment from the Perfect Pennants stamp set made this a very crisp Masculine Card. 

Tips & Tricks:
  • I use the Chalk Talk framelit for the sentiment. However, I did not want the black base to be so big. So, how I solved that? I cut the black shape twice. The first time on its normal size, then I shift the famelit up on the cut image and cut again, getting a smaller size of the same shape.

I feel good!



Hope you are feeling very well and not in need of a feel good card. However, I am sending good thoughts your way anyway. Why? Well, because it is my way to thank the universe for all the good that keep on coming my way.

Daffodil Delight and Basic Black never fail to strike me. With these colors I am entering the Fusion Sunflower challenge and honestly I love looking at this card. The sentiment is from the Perfect Pennants and the flowers I got both from the Petite Petals and the Something to Say stamp sets.

Tips & Tricks:
  • The Daffodil Delight base was stamped with the Flowering Flourishes as to create and instant background. Honestly I am not found of either flat or blank background.
  • I stamped and cut the flowers before putting them together. And even them, I first position the    flowers, then place the    flowers in the center. 
  • To obtain the black Pearl, I simply colored it with a Sharpie. The same result can be obtained using any of the Blendabilities.

SSSC 227, PP 204 - Perfect Pennants

Happy Monday to us all! I do not mind Monday, as it seems to me that I have seven of them in a normal week! Seriously, it is a day like any other and the beginning of a new week that we can make a difference. To start out this week, I jumped in the Sweet Sunday Sketch and The Paper Players challenges for a good kick off. The card has a sentiment from Perfect Pennants as it adequately sends good thoughts your way.

I truly love that sentiment from the Perfect Pennants stamp set. It says it all.

Tips and Tricks:
  • Cut a long strip of the Dotted Scalloped Border and after you have it where you want it, cut to size.
