Brigh Spring... Where are you?

Dear Friends & Readers,

Easter was just a delight in our home with friends who came from PA to spend the week with us. We all gathered lovely memories from this time. Hope your Easter was lovely too.

We got a bit sick, however. Not sure what was it. Congestion, sinus infection, not the flu, but just a respiratory ordeal that did not stop our fun at all. We are all anxiously waiting for Spring to arrive once and for all, but instead we woke up to white covered ground. Not the wake up call I was interested in.

Then, we can add color to our surrounding by crafting. DoStamper Stars 276 proposes a bold combination and it is just what I need. So tired of white and gray. Anyway, the images on this card are from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set. I love how we can stamp the back and cut the detail in the sale color and just turns out lovely no matter the color you choose. The sentiment is from Butterfly Basics. Of course, rhinestone must be added, so we know it is a bright and sparkly birthday.

A lovely Birthday.

Dear Friends & Readers,

Are you on Spring Break? My children are and we are enjoying the company of friends that moved from WI to PA couple of years ago. It is wonderful to see friends and see the children reconnect and have a wonderful time together.

I save some time aside to play at the craft room and made this card to participate on the DSC 276. I like sketches challenge the best of all and this one was very nice sketch.

I am low on birthday cards, and decided it is time to start to stock up again. The images on this card is from Lovely Wishes stamp set from the Occasions catalog, which ends on May 31st. The sentiment is from the Butterfly Basics stamp set, which is one of my favorites sets. I have used that set a lot and never get tired of it. I had colored the flowers using the Aqua Painter dabbing in a bit of ink at a time. I did not add water to it, just made sure the tip was wet. Works really well. The ribbon is from stash, and I figure I may as well use it. The ribbon gave the black cardstock an elegant finish and they balanced each other well.

Serenity

The title really is not a reflection on how my week started but I always go back into finding some serenity whatever way I can. Lots of time, crafting will do that for me. Today was not different. It is strange that in the middle of feeling less than calm I can calm myself to be creative. The quiet environment helps and it certainly makes me attain a level of tranquility that I can put into my life as well.

Because of all that I made today's card for Mojo Monday 488 using the Artistically Asian stamp set. Asian theme seems to bring a sense of calm that always enchants me. The "vase" for the plant is one of the framelits in Frozen Treats. The background of the white layer is from the Butterfly Basics and I used that image on the "vase" too. Now, the plant does not have the flowers. I added those Delightful Dijon flowers that can be found in the Avant Garden stamp set from Sale-A-Bration. I added a tiny pear to each of the flowers, but the picture does not show that very well. A bit of ribbon with a beautiful bow on the left side was all that needed to complete the sketch and I have finally found calm again.

Painted and perfect

This has been a very rainy Wednesday, but we needed some rain and the plants are very happy, the birds are singing, and the temperature is not all that bad. There is still some summer left for us and we are making sure we soak in and enjoy every bit of it.

We are back to the routine after our friends left, and things are moving along nicely. There is always something extra, but I was able to set a moment aside to work on a card for the Dostamper Stars 199 using the new Penned & Painted stamp set. I love this set and the fact that I can have the colors without guessing the stamping position, makes the difference. I stamped the images at randomly on a piece of Whisper White cut to size. All the layers were adhered to Garden Green cardstock for a pop of color. The beautiful sentiment is from Butterfly Basics and it was stamped in Tangelo Twist for an extra dose of color and to match the contour of the flowers. The background is the long retired Flower Pot dsp, which I was happy to find in my stash.
