Climbing.

Dear Friend and Readers,

Wow, we made some progress with our kitchen project, but there is still a lot to get done. I have nothing left of my old kitchen. All cabinets, appliances, and flooring are removed. A bit more electric work, plumbing, and dry wall and we will be all ready to install the new cabinets and appliances. I am excited!

Despite all the work around the kitchen, I have found time to craft a bit and I am happy I did. Nothing like some card making to recharge my energies.

I am loving the new Climbing Orchid bundle. For one thing, I have always loved orchid and use to have a collection of them when we lived in Florida. Now I have a few of them that sit happily in our school room. I wanted to create an Ikebana type of floral today and for that I use the Christmas Pine for the leaves and the Frozen Threats for the vase or bowl. I covered the bowl with a piece of velum cut from the Layering Ovals framelit. The center of the orchid was coated over with Wink of Stella just for a subtle touch. Hard to see on the picture, but it gave a nice effect. This card really did not need anything else.

Serenity

The title really is not a reflection on how my week started but I always go back into finding some serenity whatever way I can. Lots of time, crafting will do that for me. Today was not different. It is strange that in the middle of feeling less than calm I can calm myself to be creative. The quiet environment helps and it certainly makes me attain a level of tranquility that I can put into my life as well.

Because of all that I made today's card for Mojo Monday 488 using the Artistically Asian stamp set. Asian theme seems to bring a sense of calm that always enchants me. The "vase" for the plant is one of the framelits in Frozen Treats. The background of the white layer is from the Butterfly Basics and I used that image on the "vase" too. Now, the plant does not have the flowers. I added those Delightful Dijon flowers that can be found in the Avant Garden stamp set from Sale-A-Bration. I added a tiny pear to each of the flowers, but the picture does not show that very well. A bit of ribbon with a beautiful bow on the left side was all that needed to complete the sketch and I have finally found calm again.

Sweet & Cool.

So much for my quiet time that allowed me to make some beautiful cards to share with you. I got busy as I was asked to make some 130 cards and that just about took all my free time away, but I tell you, I am very, very happy that people like my work to the point of ordering them from me.

Now, as for today's card, it is serving three purpose. First to share with you, to participate on Dostamper Stars 215, and last but not least, to give to a wonderful little friends of ours whose birthday is this Friday. She is the most sweet, fun, thoughtful young girl I know and we love her very much. I want to add all the stamps from the Cool Treats stamp set, but it would be too much. Of course, since she is cool and sweet I added two ice cream cones, which were easily cut using the Frozen Treats framelits. I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the darker shades of the ice cream and I thought it looked fabulous that way. The set and framelit can be purchase as a bundle with bring you to almost the $50 requirement to get a FREE item from Sale-A-Bration. I am in love with this set, and I know you will too.
