Here for - and with - you.

PPA-300-May12

Hello my dear readers. The weather got a bit better but my plants took a hit from the cold blast that came our way. We started the week a bit busy but there is always time for crafting.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, ppa, all occasions card, lullaby dsp, serene silhouettes, pedal pusher stamp set, banner triple punch, su

The simple, and easy to work with, sketch from Pals Paper Arts 300 caught my eye and I got to work. I have a friend that is going through some rough period of her life and I am doing all I can to help lift some of her burden. I made today's card with her in mind. I used the Lullaby dsp, the soon to be retired Serene Silhouettes for the images and the Pedal Pusher for the sentiment. I want to add a bit of color and the Raspberry Ripple ribbon was the perfect choice for this card. A bit of cheerfulness without dismissing the difficulties of life.

Thank you for visiting today. Find comfort in all the good things and the bit of happiness in the small details. Be well

Miriam

Watercolor? Sure!

CCMC401

We are ready to catch a break this week and the weather seems like is going to be bringing us some much wanted warmth. I am looking forward to it. This week is going to be busy but it is going to be wonderful too.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, ccmc, all occasions card, botanical gardens dsp, sweet li'l things dsp, stippled blossoms, big shot, deco labels collections, curvy corner trio punch, banner triple punch, su

Despite the small warm up and the busy week ahead, I was able to craft a bit. I prepare this card for CCMC 401 using the Stippled Blossoms stamp set for image. I stamped it in watercolor paper and after stamping each layer, I smoothed out the edges with the watercolor brush. It softens the image so well and I love the final effect. The same was done in the leaves. I used the Botanical Gardens DSP for the Mossy Green background and Sweet Lil' Thing DSP for the banner. The image was cut out with the Deco Labels and the Daffodil Delight piece had its corner rounded with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch. A fun and bold all occasions card. Enjoy.

Thank you for visiting and please share your love. Be well

Made in Heaven

The long term commitment we make when we take wedding vows is made in Heaven and all the hopes are that will remain that way for the lifetime. Ups and downs are part of the growth, and without them it would all be too boring and plain.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, mm, wedding card, timeless elegance dsp, rose wonder stamp set, big shot, lots of labels framelits, banner triple punch, su

As a surprising mix that we are all made of, so is a marriage. Precisely the reason why I chose do many textures for today's card for the Mojo Monday challenge 432. While the colors all blend very well, the texture provide the interesting parts and details of each one of us. The dsp I use for that is the Timeless Elegance, and I love the effect it gave. I like to combine Very Vanilla, Black, and Real Red, but today I was just in the mood for something different. The Bermuda Bay ribbon caught my eye and the decision was made. The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set, which was cut with the Lots of Labels framelits. The banners could not be any easier with the Triple Banner punch. The perfect bow to close and seal the deal.

Thank you for visiting today. I hope you enjoyed the project and will brave a bit with the colors too. Be well

Peaceful passage.

CCMC387

I do not want to start the year on a sad note, however, things happen and a friend of mine lost her grand-father on Christmas day. She held up well, but I know she was very sad and I know a card would give her some solace.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, ccmc, sympathy card, english garden dsp, banner triple punch, decorative label punch, simply sketched, su

Of course, I made this card with her in mind. I used the CCMC 387 as my inspiration. I looked through my dsp collection and found that the English Garden was perfect and I used it for all the panels. I will miss this dsp and its beautiful and soothing colors. The sentiment is from the retired Simply Sketched, which is a favorite of mine. Now, the one tool that I have reached up for a lot is the Triple Banner punch. Have you seen it? Did you buy it? well, if you did not, you must. It is the best and quickly turn any piece of paper in a lovely banner. A touch of ribbon in a perfect bow form and this card was complete to present to my friend.

Thank you for visiting today. I wish you all a fantastic 2016 filled with all your dreams realizations. Be well

Ring it up.

My children are in a crazy count down for Christmas just like last year. They are having fun, but almost driving em crazy in the process. I have been busy and we are still having classes this week, I have plenty going on, and I am back on my knitting swing. My friend sent me lots of yarns and they all look so beautiful that I must knit!

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, mm, wedding card, timeless elegance dsp, rose wonder stamp set, flowering fields, banner triple punch, scalloped edge border punch, su

But I have not abandoned my craft room and had prepared a wedding card today. Yes, and there are some new products in this card. As a matter of fact there are two new stamp sets used in this card: Rose Wonder and Flowering Fields. The Rose Wonder is absolutely a must and it has a framelit to match. It is gorgeous. The Flowering Fields is from the Sale-a-Bration catalog and I a perfect set for background making, and that's what I used that one for on this card. I add a touch of the Timeless Elegance DSP and could not call this card completed without the touch of ribbon and a beautifully made bow.

Thank you for visiting today. I hope you will stop by again soon. Be well

More candles? Sure!

I have been so busy with a fundraiser that I feel like I have not posted anything for ages.... but in truth it has been since last Thursday. I am sorry I let you down, life sometimes do that. I am just happy that I was able to help out and that it is mostly all completed now.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, pp, birthday card, english garden dsp, butterfly basics stamp set, banner triple punch, su

I told you I was working on birthday cards, and the saga continues. The sketch today is from the Paper Players challenge 268, but I turned it sideways for fun. I went for the English Garden dsp, which is absolutely lovely. The sentiment is from the Butterfly Basics and this is a stamp set that is perfect to have as a part of you collection. I love the images and the sentiments. I considered other colors for the ribbon, but the Blushing Bride cotton ribbon was the one that stroke me most. The sentiment was cut in banner using the Triple Banner Punch, which makes creating a banner a snap. The bow was a must and as usual I made it with My Bow Maker. Perfection each and every time.

Thank you for visiting today. Be well

I am not ready.

PPA270

For the holiday season that is. I can hardly believe that there are some holiday decorations out for sale, and we have not yet reached Halloween. That is just wrong.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, ppa, birthday card, summer silhouettes, teeny tiny wishes stamp set. big shot, banner triple punch, adorning accents, park lane dsp, holiday ornaments framelits, big shot, su

I will take my time to get to the Holidays and in the meantime I will be working on all sorts of cards, but I need Birthday cards, so you may be seeing lots of ideas for your birthday cards. Today, despite the weather, I pulled the Summer Silhouettes from the shelf and that was enough for the images. I liked the colors from the Pals Paper Arts challenge 270, the Summer Silhouettes was the perfect choice for it. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, which is a must have on your craft room. I made the vase using Holiday Ornament framelit and add a bit touch to top and bottom of the vase, which were cut with the Adorning Accents Edgelit. I used retired Park Lane DSP for the background and for the vase. A touch of Candy Dots and this card is ready.

Ok, your turn to get your supplies out and whip some cards. Enjoy your day and please stop by again. Be well

Change of theme.

Ah, the joy of windows open, the wonderful sensation of warmth running through the house with the breeze, and overall happiness that summer days bring to me is still upon us, and I hope it stays for a while more. Do you enjoy the summer months?

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, all occasions card, floral wings, banner triple punch, subtles DSP, su

I am still drawing inspiration from the beautiful weather and from challenges such as Dostamper stars challenge 149. as you can see I stir away from the dinosaurs and instead created a card that is more subtle and can easily be used for a baby shower card. The image is from the Floral Wings hostess stamp set and I decided against a specific sentiment as this can be a card for any occasion. The Banner Triple Punch came to work yet again and a bit of Candy Dot in Marina Mist was put to work. The cotton ribbon always make for a great bow when using My Bow Maker.

Thank you for visiting today. Take a moment to share some love and also to visit other Dostamper Stars for more inspiration.

Be well

It's bakc!

Summer that is. We had yet another heat wave and I am so excited about it. Windows are open, the breeze is blowing, the air is nice and warm, and I am thriving. Took a long walk on Monday afternoon and feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin was simply priceless.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, pp, all occasions card, sweet li'l things dsp, watercolor wings bundle, perpetual birthday calendar, big shot, lots of labels framelits, softly falling tief, banner triple punch, su

And on that walk, a butterfly came and greeted me but gently brushing against my arm before flying away.  A perfect inspiration for The Paper Players challenge 262. The Watercolor Wings stamp set and its matching framelits gave me the inspiration image, and the Perpetual Birthday calendar stamp set completed the banner.  I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set to add the So Saffron splashes. The Lots of Labels framelit was used for the butterfly background and the new Softly Falling TIEF completed the touch on that background. A touch of elegant Lost Lagoon ribbon and bow and voilá, another salutation to the summer.

Thank you for visiting today. I truly appreciate seeing you here. Be well

Cool as cucumber

PPA267

Yet another productive weekend in my house, and some down time too, so a balance can be achieved. I got some fresh mulch on my garden in preparation for the fall, so I will not have too much once Spring arrives.  I am still harvesting some produce, but we all know that this will not last too long. Enjoy my roasted tomatoes and basil throughout the winter I will.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonsrtator, ppa, birthday card, schoolhouse dsp, tea lace paper doilies, bring on the cake, I love lace, banner triple punch, su

The colors for the Pals Paper Players challenge 267 are nice and soothing. I like the combination a lot and will repeat those colors and other projects! For today's card, I used the Schoolhouse DSP and combined the I Love Lace background stamp to give a soft touch. The sentiment is from the now retired Bring on the Cake stamp set, but I like how it worked on this card. The Tea Lace paper doily enhanced the softness of the card and the little perfect bow finish the perfection. I can never get a wrong bow with My Bow Maker! Love that little tool.

Thank you for visiting today. I truly appreciate you taking the time to stop by.

Be well

Bright thank you.

Well, hello. I hope you are all enjoying some beautiful and warm weather. I tell you, my garden is thriving despite the cooler temperatures. I am yet to see raspberries from my garden, but am getting some greens and hope to have some carrots soon too. Tomatoes, on the other hand, that will be a while.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, thank you, gold soiree specialty dsp, wild about flowers, banner triple punch, something to believe stamp setsu

While I patiently wait for more bountiful harvest, I get to play a bit more in my craft room. I prepared a card for the Dostamper Stars challenge 139  using a bit of Gold Soiree DSP, a bit of retired colors (how can you blame me?) and the new Wild About Flowers stamp set. This new set is perfect and I can hardly not use it. I picked up the sentiment from the long retired Something to Believe set and a bit of sequins for an added touch.

Wishing you a bounty summer with plenty to celebrate and with many, many memorable moments to be thankful for. Be well.

A begginers' nest

The biggest new begging of anyone's life is getting married, in my humble opinion. We learn and grow so much by sharing our lives with someone else. It is challenging yet the rewards of the growth we obtain is priceless.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demosntrator, pp, bridal card, subtles DSP, world of dreams, my friend stamp set, loving thoughts, big shot, hearts collection, elegant dots tief, banner triple punch, su

Since we are in the summer and people are getting married all over the place, I prepared a wedding/bridal shower for The Paper Players challenge 251 today. The stamp set My Friend has been retired for a bit now, but it has not grown old. The main image is from the World of Dreams stamp set. Those two little birds in the nest look so loving, how can I resist? The sentiment is also from yet another retired set, the Loving Thoughts. The Mint Macaron strip was embossed using the new Elegant Dots; on the foliage, I wanted a more subtle and soft effect, and i got that by "brushing" the ink pad over the image, rather than inking as we normally do. I just put it on top of the image and drag it using only one edge to ink the stamp.

Thank you for visiting today, have a fantastic week and come back soon. Be well

The end of an era.

Indeed, today it marks the end of the Stampin' Up! MDS program. I am so sorry to see it go, but I can understand it and I will continue to use it as I have learned to love it. Today is also the end of my Subaru era. As you know I have suffered an accident over the Memorial Day weekend and my car was deemed totaled. It was a wonderful car and I felt very bad to see it end that way. There was still a lot of life in that car. Sigh.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demosntrator, fusion, birthday card, big day stamp set, big shot, oval collection framelits, decorative dots tief, banner triple punch, su

But, let's us mark the new month with reasons to celebrate, shall we? The new catalog will roll in in just couple of days and I am excited about it. There are plenty to choose from and I am looking forward to get my hands on lots of new products. As for today's card I used stashed away DSP and the Big Day stamp set for sentiment. A simple and straight forward card inspired on the sketch from the Fusion Wedding Bells challenge. No wedding bells on today's card, but for the birthday to happen, a wedding is necessary or ideal.
