Lovely Sympathy.

Hello Dear Friends and Readers,

This has been a busy month as the children prepare for the Violin Festival Concert. Lots of practice, group lessons, rehearsals, and lovely music. Despite all the work, I do love it tremendously. I am finding some time to craft, not as much, but every little bit is enjoyed.

I like sketch challenge as I find elements to compose the card to the sketch. Dostamper Stars 271 was worked on today and I love the card resulting from the challenge.

Honestly, I love this card. The elements went well together. The Whole Lot of Lovely DSP set the tone to keep it clean, elegant, simple, and just, well, lovely.  I used the sentiment from the Rose Wonder stamp set, the foliage is from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits, and the flower cluster is from the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp set. The texture on the sides is from the Filigree TIEF long retired. I love that folder and I use it as much as possible. It just gives such a nice detail. Stitched Shapes and Layering circles framelit were used for the sentiment. The flower cluster are adorned with the Black Rhinestones, which I love. I wish every color of Rhinestone. They are so beautiful.

I am back.

It has been a very long time since I last wrote to you all and let me tell you I miss you. I did finish my kitchen and it looks wonderful Soon after the completion of the project, my mom arrived from Brazil to stay with us for 40 days. We are enjoying here before she goes home on Friday.

I have done some work around my craft room, but did not spend much time there lately. I work today on a card for the DSC 251 and since I needed some Sympathy Card I went for that. Here I used the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP as well as the Coffee Break DSP and they are both currently on sale! For the image I used the Touches of Texture stamp set, and the sentiment from Rose Wonder stamp set. I hoarded a bunch of Chevron ribbon in the past, so I got some out for today's project. The flowers from the image got a bit of color and all was done.

Swirly and Ribbons.

Hello my dear friends and readers. I am so glad to be able to find a bit of time to craft, but now that we had some beautiful days, we have spend a bit of time outside enjoying the sun and the very mild temperatures. Yesterday, I was too excited and no longer able to wait. I put my seeds on potting soil. I am hoping that the season will continue mild and the spring will be here soon. I do not plan, of course, on transplanting my seedling too soon.

This card is prepared for the DSC 218, and ribbons are a favorite of mine - sure you know that - and since we have good weather, I wanted color, lots of it. I also have needs for several Get Well cards so I made this a Thinking of you/Get Well card. I think it will bring a bit of cheer. I used the Swirly Bird bundle for the flowers and leaves and I layered the flowers for a bit of 3D. Sentiment, from the Rose Wonder, was placed on a Layering Circles, which is such delicate details for a layer. Then, the ribbon, oh so pretty and soft. I love this ribbon and the bow is always perfect. I add texture from the Fancy Fan TIEF on the Crumb Cake layer and love all those textures together.

Saga, part III

Along the years I have learned that colors has different meaning in distinct cultures. In Brazil, we say that all is blue meaning that all is very well, but I learned that being blue in America does not reflect the same sentiment. I like the happier perspective.

Green, for us, is the color of Hope, and Yellow, the color of friendship. I incorporated these colors for today's Dostamper Stars 187, and since the colors means so much a wedding card in those colors seems a perfect idea. The background is from the Botanical Gardens dsp, which we all have to give it a good bye as it retired. The image is from the beautiful new hostess set Gift of Love. The minute I saw that set I had to have it. I love it. The sentiment, which was cut using the Lots of Labels framelits is from the Rose Wonder stamp set, which is also a favorite of mine. I sponged the contour of the cut out to give a bit of depth and to stand out. A bit of pearls at the bottom added a delicate touch.
