Tame it up.

My dear readers, I am so sorry I have been slow with the posts. As much as I would love to be posting daily, I have been so busy that is virtually impossible to keep at it all. I have been helping with scholarship fundraising efforts for the violin school my children attend, besides cleaning and preparing the garden for the winter, getting all the other house stuff done, and my husband is out of town on a business trip. Soon, things will calm down again.

Now, look at the color challenge for the Dostamper Stars 204. It does spell Halloween all over it, but I decided to not go that route. Instead I went for an all occasion card using the Gift of Love stamp set. I love this set and used the Perfect Plum to stamp the outline of the flower. I sometimes struggle with which sentiment to use, and this card was not different. However, I tried the ribbon and liked it better, and of course the bow completed the looks. I add texture to the Perfect Plum layer using the Lovely Lace TIEF. I normally like to cut my layers 1/8" - 1/4" shorter then the other, but this time I cut the front panel shorter so the Perfect Plum could be seen better and the texture could then be felt.  A tame card with wild colors.

Thank you for your visit, your loyalty, your support, and mostly, your friendship. Be well

Miriam

Thanks music.

Hello my dear Readers,

I am out of town this week at violin camp with my daughter and it has been a fantastic week. It is such a wonderful experience to see the small children playing such beautiful music. It does fill our hearts with hope for a better world with more tolerance and love.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stmapin up, demonstrator, dsc, thank you, falling flowers stamp set, touches of texture, gift of love stamp set, big shot, may flowers framelit, su

I did prepare a card and want to share it with you today for the Dostamper Stars 191. If you have not spent much time looking at the catalog and making your wish list, I urge you to do so. The new sets are absolutely gorgeous and very versatile. Look at the May Flower framelit and Falling Flowers stamp set. They are absolutely beautiful and paired up with the Touches of Textures, makes this card perfect. Now, for some step-by-step.

I did not want to cut the cardstock base, instead I created the semi-oval looks using the leaves from the Falling Flowers. Then, I stamped all the perimeter with the Touches of Texture stamp set. The flowers and bud were stamped and cut using the matching framelit. The sentiment is from the Gifts of Love stamp set, which I cut using the Triple Banner Punch. The top flower was adhered using dimensionals and Rhinestones were added to the center of the flowers for that special "bling" effect. Voilá.

There are more inspiration for this challenge and you can see them all by visiting the other Dostamper Stars. Thank you for your visit. I look forward to seeing you again. Be well

Miriam

Gift of Love

Summer is really upon us, but it seems to be moving all too fast. Perhaps it is just because I am so busy. We have been enjoyed having many friends over and making great summer memories. That leaves little time to play in my craft room, and next week it will be impossible as I will be in violin camp with my daughter. It is a wonderful experience and she loves every moment of it.

Today's card was made with lots of people in mind as I have many in my life that make us feel loved. They are special people that fill our lives and spread happiness whatever they go. The set used here is the Gift of Love stamp set. The Dostamper Start challenge 190 calls for any set that is exclusive for hostess and this jumped on me, so what can I say, I put it to use. The texture on the Garden Green is Elegant Dots TIEF and notice that I raised the front panel so the image is set back making a nice frame for the image and sentiment. The ribbon is in Flirty Flamingo and a perfect bow to go with that.

Hope you are enjoying your summer and finding time to let your creative juices flow too. There are more inspiration for this challenge and you can see them all by visiting the other Dostamper Stars. Thank you for your visit. I look forward to seeing you again. Be well

Saga, part III

Along the years I have learned that colors has different meaning in distinct cultures. In Brazil, we say that all is blue meaning that all is very well, but I learned that being blue in America does not reflect the same sentiment. I like the happier perspective.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc, wedding card, botanical gardens dsp, gift of love stamp set, rose wonder stamp set, big shot, lots of labels framelits, su

Green, for us, is the color of Hope, and Yellow, the color of friendship. I incorporated these colors for today's Dostamper Stars 187, and since the colors means so much a wedding card in those colors seems a perfect idea. The background is from the Botanical Gardens dsp, which we all have to give it a good bye as it retired. The image is from the beautiful new hostess set Gift of Love. The minute I saw that set I had to have it. I love it. The sentiment, which was cut using the Lots of Labels framelits is from the Rose Wonder stamp set, which is also a favorite of mine. I sponged the contour of the cut out to give a bit of depth and to stand out. A bit of pearls at the bottom added a delicate touch.

Thank you for visiting today. I hope you found inspiration in today's project. Remember to take a moment to leave me a note and to visit the other Dostamper Stars. Be well

Miriam
