Spring Sampler

The first day of Spring has arrived and it appears that brought Spring weather along. Beautiful sunny days has bathed us and the birds are happy making nests, singing, dancing in the air. What a blessing to wake up, hear this wonderfully beautiful music, seeing all the beauty around us, and having an eternal hope for a fantastic season.

In a glorious homage to Spring, I made this card to participate in the DoStamper Stars 223. A sampler of what Spring will bring forth. The Best Birds stamp set provided the beautiful and delicate cherry blossom, the Detailed Dragonfly thinlits gave the bee new heights;  the Birds & Blossoms thinlits brought the bird in search for the ideal place for its new nest; the Flourish thinlits reminded us of all the leaves that soon will show its spectacular hues of green; the Beautiful Wings Embossilit, retired, but still fantastic, gave me the right size butterfly, and the final touch came from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, also retired. All of them perfectly nested in the Swirly Scribbles thinlits. Oh, I love Spring and Summer. I have been watching a couple of birds making a nest in our back porch. They are busy at work and we sure are happy and honored to have them so close to us.

I am not ready.

For the holiday season that is. I can hardly believe that there are some holiday decorations out for sale, and we have not yet reached Halloween. That is just wrong.

I will take my time to get to the Holidays and in the meantime I will be working on all sorts of cards, but I need Birthday cards, so you may be seeing lots of ideas for your birthday cards. Today, despite the weather, I pulled the Summer Silhouettes from the shelf and that was enough for the images. I liked the colors from the Pals Paper Arts challenge 270, the Summer Silhouettes was the perfect choice for it. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, which is a must have on your craft room. I made the vase using Holiday Ornament framelit and add a bit touch to top and bottom of the vase, which were cut with the Adorning Accents Edgelit. I used retired Park Lane DSP for the background and for the vase. A touch of Candy Dots and this card is ready.

Summer birthday.

The nice weather sometimes brings the storms and over the weekend several areas around the Midwest were affected by severe weather and tornadoes. I hope everywhere in the path of the storm were spared from harm. I was setting up at the Farmer's market when the storm brew and came down hard for one hour. But then, it cleared up and things proceeded as normal.

Anyway, despite the misbehaved weather, I had to prepare some cards, and decided on a birthday theme using the CCMC 364 and Splitcoast Stampers SC 549 as my inspiration. The Sweet Lil' Things DSP is showcased here as the top paper, then I used Modern Medley and Regals Collection DSP stack. Sentiment and the flower are both from the new Birthday Blossoms stamp set. I add a button at the center of the flower just for a bit of a pop. Now, the layers were cut individually taking care to make the lower edge so I was able to layer them in this fashion. I did not use full layer for each of them, instead I cut a piece that fit the open area and cut the scallop edge. Otherwise the card can became really top heavy with so many full layers.

Home, sweet home.

Recently a friend of mine moved into her new house and it is now a home. Walking into our homes are something that no other comfort can match. As much as I like to travel, I love the getting back home.

This card was made with my friend in mind and I used the Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge 534 to create it. Since Spring is a bit late to come by, but there are some plants already growing, I decided that my friend's new house deserves a blooming garden and fully covered trees. The Holiday Home stamp set and the Sheltering Tree stamp set gave the new home a beautiful garden, don't you think? The curve for the sketch I obtained with the Adorning Accents framelit and adorned part of the curve - in a rainbow fashion - with bitty flowers from a now retired punch. This house will blossom with love.

Green & Gold thank you

Fall brings the change of color and.... football. I am not a fan and, in all honesty, I do not understand the rules of the game. Soccer is still my kind of football. However, living in Wisconsin it is impossible not to cheer for the Green Bay Packers.

I know this is not a football card at all, but is is the colors of the Green Bay Packers. I like green and yellow as those are the colors of Brazil too, so it is a good one for me. I made this card to participate in the Retro Sketch challenge 139, which is one of those sketches that I looked and was not able to resist. I kept it simple and the main focus became the Park Lane DSP. The sentiment is from the Lots of Thanks and with the touch of some retired products, I got this card together in no time.

DoStampers Star #065 - Best of Flower

The week in coming to a close and a fantastic week this was. I hope your week has been a great one too. Today I am posting the card for the Dostamper Stars challenge which is an inspiration challenge. I incorporated several features of the theme photo by using Best of Flowers stamp set, Thinlits, Tea Lace Paper Doilies, and I like the final looks of it. How about you, do you like it?
