Color me Pretty.

Since we are all covered with White stuff, adding color, even if in paper only, is my best choice for the day. I was hoping to see some Spring colors soon and I know some of my Tulips were working on peaking out of the soil and the Crocus too. Now we are back on waiting for it all to go away for good.

The Watercolor Pencils from Stampin' Up! are the best. I have been playing with them a lot and fear I will need an extra box soon. I love how soft they are and how well they blend. For today's card for DoStamper Stars 222 I used the Falling Flowers stamp set and had a wonderful time coloring the flowers and leaves. However, rather than going watercolor effect, I color as I would with regular pencil, and blend a bit using the White pencil. While you cannot get the watercolor effect, I like the softness that it gives by blending it this way. I used the Lovely Lace TIEF for the background and sponged a bit with the Calypso Coral just to enhance the texture. I added a Scallop circle from the Layering Circles to set the flowers. Beautiful card that sure makes an statement.

Thank you so much for your visit today. I hope you found an inspiration to create something too. Be well.

Miriam

  1. ooh, great idea to blend with the white pencil. I'll have to try that. Thanks for playing along with this week's DOstamperSTARS Thursday Challenge!
