Rain, rain...

PPA-298-Apr28

... We need you, and we are thankful you came to visit on Saturday and Sunday. You tested our patience of hoping for good, sunny weather, and you rewarded us with green and lush grass along the smell of fresh cutting, soon to follow.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, ppa, masculine, birthday card, congratulations, flashback dsp, starburst sayings, starburst framelits, big shot, arrows tief, su

I will have a happy dance, celebrate, and wait for lush days to come. Shall we call it happy day? Indeed. Today's card celebrate just that and I used the sketch from Pals Paper Players 298 to create it. The paper used here is the retired Flahsback DSP, which I have stashed long enough. The sentiment is from the Starburts Sayings stamp set along with its matching Framelits. The texture on the back add a perfect touch that goes very well with the dsp.

I wish you a bright, sunny, and wonderful week. Thank you for visiting. Be well.

Miriam

This for you.

well, this week was not set for a good start, but it will all get much better as it goes by. It must be the first day of Autumn that threw me a curve ball. I sure need a reason to toast.

Miriam Castanho-Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demosntrator, sssc, masculine card, mosaic madness, big shot, starburst framelits, argyle tief, mosaic punch, su

How about if I just celebrate the Autumn with a masculine card? Well then, here it is for you all. I pulled out an assortment of retired product to include: Mosaic Madness stamp set, Starburst Framelit, Argyle TIEF, the DSP paper and the sentiment are also retired. The sketch from the SSSC 287 is perfect for the Starburst framelit and that was my initial inspiration. Now, let's pull out some of our retired, combine with some new product and make some beautiful cards.

Thank you for your visit today. My doors are always open and I welcome all of you to come, see, share, enjoy, and be happy. Be well

Miriam

It was great, thank you!

Indeed, we all had a great time over the weekend celebrating my son's 5th birthday. We had a get together with some close friends on Sunday, made a big Brazilian lunch and we all had a blast.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, mm388, stippled blossoms stamp set, starburst sayings, starburst framelits, big shot, burlap ribbon, su

Then, of course we are very thankful for having friends that have become our family and that alone is reason to cherish and celebrate. I made a card for such occasion and used Mojo Monday challenge 388 as my sketch. The Stippled Blossom stamp set is so pretty and I have not used it in a while so why not? The sentiment is from the Starburst stamp set and framelit. The DSP is retired, but I like digging in my stash to find the perfect paper. Voilá!
Thank you for visiting today and please come back again!

A ray of thank you.

DSC#118-Sketch

I know, it is supposed to be a Valentine's week and a card for the occasion. But I was in a mood for a Thank you card, as I have plenty to be thankful for.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc 118, itty bitty banners, itty bitty framelits, starburst framelits, thank you, su

The sketch from Dostamper Stars challenge 118 dictated the direction of the card, but I wanted a ribbon running in the middle, so I made that change. I used some retired product such as the paper, as I thought it looked great together. I cut the shapes using the Starburst framelits to get the "rays" I wanted. The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Banner and it looks just so cute. Of course, as I looked to the center circle I realized that a bow would give just the touch I wanted.  I hope some much need sun rays go your way and that you also have plenty to be thankful for.

Need more inspiration? Then please check out what the other stars did this week:

A bit of old and a bit of new too.

DSC#115-Sketch

Well, I am hanging in here paradise land and have not forgotten about it all. I am having a much needed vacation, but before I left I had time to play an prepare for today's post.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, dsc 115, butterfly basics stamp set, big shot, starburst framelits, su

Today's card is for Dostamper Stars Thursday Challenge 115 and since it is a sketch challenge, I decided to work with the beautiful and now retired Eastern Elegance DSP. For the image, I got it from the Butterfly Basics stamp set from the new Occasions Catalog. This set is so beautiful and with framelits to go with, it is even better.

I will be back to normal schedule next week; see you then.

Oh Happy Day!

The days preceding Christmas seems to run too fast and I am getting panicked about it. I like to enjoy my days and not feel too rushed, but every end of the year is like this. Oh well.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, mm, starburst sayings, starburst framelits, big shot, birthday bash dsp, su

I am finding time, in the midst of chaos to craft and enjoy the new pre-order products. I have showcased some and will continue to do so, however my current products are getting a bit jealous, so today I am featuring the new Birthday Bash DSP along with the Starburst Sayings stamp set. The ribbon is a Sale-A-Bration item that can be yours too starting January 6th! I like how the ribbons feel and how beautiful of a bow it gives. Of course that My Bow Maker helps a lot with that! This card is being entered in the Mojo Monday challenge 376, as it is hard to pass on a good sketch. I hope you enjoy today's card and will come back soon for more.

Miriam's Supply List (Click product for more details and quick & easy shopping): Please note that the items not listed are the from either the New Occasions Catalog or Sale-a-Bration

You are the best!

This week I experienced, for the first time in my life, a sinus infection. Well, I did not like it one bit and will live happily ever after if I never get another one. But, that did not stop me from doing some cards, which was the best part of my day yesterday. Yay to paper crafting!

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, fusion, confetti celebration dsp, starburst framelits, papillon potpourri, big shot, elegant butterfly, bitty butterfly, starburst sayings, su

I made this card using the Fusion Sparkly Christmas Challenge as an inspiration. Clearly, I did not have Christmas in mind. I have made so many Christmas cards already that I decided for something else and since I can think of lots people that are special in my life, I decided to make a card to all of you. I decided to add Basic Black to all the under layers as I like how it makes all the other colors simply pop. Since it was a while since I used the Starburst Sayings stamp set, I went for that. I want the back layer to be smaller, so I used the 2-3/8" circle scallop punch to make my own starburst. The butterflies? Well, there is always room for them.

A Serene Soiree

Some colors are hard to see come together, but once you try them, oh they look beautiful together!

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demosntrator, sssc 241, gold soiree specialty dsp, serene silhouettes, big shot, lovely lace tief, starburst framelits, banner punch, su

Perhaps I am getting to be bolder with my color choices, and I am loving it. I used the sketch from Sweet Sketch Sunday Challenge 241. I liked the focal point being the Gold Soiree Specialty DSP for its delicate and balance the boldness of the Elegant Eggplant. The Butterfly is the little special touch from Serene Silhouettes stamp set that always speaks to me. How can one not like it?

Let the Stars Talk - Starburst Sayings

How nice it is to think that while twinkling the stars may very well be talking to each other?  I like to think so, and since this week I am with my daughter at her violin summer institute, I am inspired by all the music that the children play. It is just as stars talking and singing. I love it. To keep with the stars theme,  I put together a card to enter the Freshly Made Sketch challenge 146 before we got on the road, and what other than the Starburst Sayings stamp set could I use?  And paired with the Typeset Specialty DSP, it turned out a shout to the world!

FMS 146, Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstmapinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, fms, starburst sayings, starburst framelits, typeset specialty DSP, su

All children make the world a better place, so I dedicate this card to them all. I hope you too have a little one that bring a smile to your face and warmth to your heart!

Tips and Tricks:
  • The DSP was cut a 1/8" smaller all around than the Basic Black Layer. I like having just a bit of layer showing as it accentuates the front layer.
  • I chose not to use two pieces of ribbon as I preferred the effect that the black solid piece gave to the card.
