Better half.

We all have ours better half, and why not celebrate them? It is easy to forget the small and little things that makes the loved one such a special part of our lives.

I have been looking and thinking on making a card using the sentiment from the First Sight stamp set. I decide to play along with the CCMC 389 and when I started getting the supplies - mainly the English Garden DSP - I was thinking of images and also sentiment. I got he Butterfly Basics stamp set, as I want to use the fern image, and the "kindred spirits" sentiment felt perfect. A masculine hand-made card perfect for an Anniversary or Valentine's Day, don't you think? I thought about 2 birds, but it would be too big, and I did not wish for that. Instead I stamped and punched 2 butterflies, folded them in half and put them together in a lovely kiss. Love!

You are the best!



This week I experienced, for the first time in my life, a sinus infection. Well, I did not like it one bit and will live happily ever after if I never get another one. But, that did not stop me from doing some cards, which was the best part of my day yesterday. Yay to paper crafting!

I made this card using the Fusion Sparkly Christmas Challenge as an inspiration. Clearly, I did not have Christmas in mind. I have made so many Christmas cards already that I decided for something else and since I can think of lots people that are special in my life, I decided to make a card to all of you. I decided to add Basic Black to all the under layers as I like how it makes all the other colors simply pop. Since it was a while since I used the Starburst Sayings stamp set, I went for that. I want the back layer to be smaller, so I used the 2-3/8" circle scallop punch to make my own starburst. The butterflies? Well, there is always room for them.

Warmth Sympathy.

At this time of the year, it is hard for me not to stare in space thinking that I can almost smell the salty ocean and feel the warm breeze that emanates from it. Just to be shaken into reality that the temperature is not conducive to that.

Nonetheless, the colors at the Dostamper Stars Challenge 105  gave me some chance to feel and smell all that. I combined those beautiful colors with the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 242. Bermuda Bay, says it all, but combine with the Tangerine Tango makes it all perfect. Why did I use a Sympathy sentiment? Well, I believe that a person in grief can benefit from some warmth. The Papillon Potpourri stamp set and the coordinating punches gave the correct amount of touch, keeping the card simple. The sentiment I took from Love & Sympathy stamp set and that beautiful background is from the I Love Lace background stamp and it was the perfect touch.

SSSC 216 - Loving Thoughts

Greetings!

 

As I looked through the retiring list today, I saw several of my favorites that are going to retire this year. Loving Thoughts stamp set is one of them. I decided right then it was time to stop and go make a card that is going to a good friend that is going through some very difficult time. I needed a sketch and found the perfect one at the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge. I did pull out the beautiful Sweet Sorbet DSP from Sale-A-Bration as I absolutely love that paper. I think the card turned out sweet and soothing and I hope that when she opens the card it brightens her day and bring a smile to her face.

Dostamper Stars 076 - Perfect Pennants

Another week has gone by, and I can hardly believe it is the first week of April. I think I have been playing too hard to notice time, and I am enjoying every minute of it. Dawn Olchefske has once again put out a wonderful sketch challenge and how can one resist a new sketch? Not me! So, I went ahead and made a card showcasing the beautiful Perfect Pennants stamp set. which my husband immediately took to send to a friend whom collapsed during a tennis match. I wish the card will bring a smile to his face and that he recovers soon. Thank you for visiting.

Colour Q 230 & Pals Paper Arts 193 - See Ya Later

I have been missing and craving some warm weather,  and therefore my cards are now getting hints of spring, summer, and anything that causes me to feel warm. The ColourQ Challenge combined with the Pals Paper Arts challenge is the name of my game today. I used the Sale-A-Bration stamp set See Ya Later combined with much missed butterflies from the Papillon Poutporri. The calming looks of it makes me think of beautiful summer days when the sea is still and inviting. I hope you will enjoy and will stop by again soon!
