Fancy, fancy

Last day of 2015 and I hope you have amassed a large amount of wonderful memories this year. Better yet, I hope you continue to do so for many years to come.

One of the biggest memories in a person's life is their wedding day. I am sure someone will be getting married on the last day of the year and I made this card, which is for the Dostamper Stars challenge 162, with that in mind. The colors are perfect for a formal and memorable party, and how can one go wrong with the new Bloomin' Heart thinlits? This is absolutely gorgeous and I know it will get mileage with me. The sentiment is also new, from the Rose Wonder stamp set and I heat embossed it in black. I cut it with the Circle Card Thinlits, which was a perfect fit. The small flowers are part of the Bloomin' Hearts thinlits and a perfect fit, of course. The background is from the Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.  A bit of bling to bring it all home

Who touched the thermostat?

Well, our late Spring weather came to a brutal stop, bringing a winter storm, some snow, ice, and the like. I do not like any of that, but living in WI we are only expect to wait for such conditions.

The drop in temperatures and changing of seasons bring forth illness. My father-in-law was hospitalized on Saturday with a severe dehydration, with symptoms that looked like a stroke. Fortunately that was not so. Besides him, there has been other people that had encountered other health issues, and that called for me to prepare some Get Well cards. Today I am using the Pals Paper Players challenge 281 and also two new products: the First Sight stamp set, and the Wildflower Fields dsp that will be yours for free with your $50 purchase during sale-a-bration. The sentiment used is from the Perfect Pennants stamp set which was cut using the Lots of Labels framelits. I think this will cheer up an abated love one in a bit.

Farewell

It is a sad thing when you make good friends and then they have to move away. A very good friend of mine just recently relocated and while we are sad to see them go, we are happy for the new chapter and opportunity in their lives.

I prepare this card for her farewell party. Since there was several families that were signing the card, I made it on a book style. I prepared small sheets for each family and then assemble them all in the card, which turned out like a lovely memories booklet. I am showcasing the new First Sight stamp set, along with the Summer Silhouettes for the small blossoms. I still had some retired dsp that went well with the looks of the stamped image, and the background dsp in Soft Sky. This card could not be complete without the bow and some pearls. I love the final result. Do you?

Ring it up.

My children are in a crazy count down for Christmas just like last year. They are having fun, but almost driving em crazy in the process. I have been busy and we are still having classes this week, I have plenty going on, and I am back on my knitting swing. My friend sent me lots of yarns and they all look so beautiful that I must knit!

But I have not abandoned my craft room and had prepared a wedding card today. Yes, and there are some new products in this card. As a matter of fact there are two new stamp sets used in this card: Rose Wonder and Flowering Fields. The Rose Wonder is absolutely a must and it has a framelit to match. It is gorgeous. The Flowering Fields is from the Sale-a-Bration catalog and I a perfect set for background making, and that's what I used that one for on this card. I add a touch of the Timeless Elegance DSP and could not call this card completed without the touch of ribbon and a beautifully made bow.

I remembered you.

Well, then, December is past its half time and it is coming to a close. But before it says a final good-bye, the holiday season must pass. I know some people that really hold a grudge against December, mainly because they have their birthday in said month. And a lot of times means only one gift.

So, let's not forget our friends that have their birthday celebration this month, by giving them a card and perhaps a gift... separate from Christmas, of course. I made today's card thinking of the December people and using the Pals Paper Arts challenge 280 as a sketch inspiration. Do you see some new products? I hope so. The beautiful and bold Watermelon Wonder Ribbon is gorgeous and oh so soft. The sentiment is from the Perfect Pairing that is coming soon on Sale-A-Bration. Love this set and getting it for free makes it that much more adorable! I use the Lots of Labels to cut the sentiment and the Pretty Petals dsp gave the beautiful background. Your loved one will be happy to be remembered and will cherish this card.

Festive & Merry

Well, and here we are at the final stretch before Christmas. But, for those of us that live in Wisconsin, this is not the most amazing thing, as the weather has proven to be amazing so far this month and this week we even went out without a coat at all. I can hardly believe it and I am loving it.

And to get all wrapped up before Christmas, let's work on some last minute card. Today I am featuring the Festive Fireplace stamp set and framelit for the Dostamper Stars challenge 161. I used the Shimmering White paper for all the parts cut, and color the fireplace using the Blender pen, which made very easy to accomplish an appearance of age. I then went back and stamped the image again both the fireplace and the fire itself. I loved how it turned out. The wood grain added a nice touch to be "back wall", the ribbon sure imitated a chair rail, and the top wall was perfect left in white. A perfect living room for a perfect celebration. Take a peek, get well.

It is hard to know that the box loaded with brand new goodies have arrived and you do not have extra time to spare. I think I am going to vote against sleeping until I got to test drive all the goodies.

It was an early Christmas for me and I am oh so happy to see the new Occasions Catalog products in my very own craft room. I was anxiously waiting on the new set and the Rose Wonder bundle did not disappoint. It is beautiful and I can it will have put on a lot of miles before long.

Today's card I prepared for the CCMC 385 and I thought it would be a nice treat to receive a cheerful card when one is not feeling well. The Rose Garden framelit is beautiful, and combined to the new 1/8" Bermuda Bay ribbon, oh my, what a nice effect. The English Garden dsp worked well here too, to keep with the theme. I added texture to the bottom part of the card with the Fancy Fan TIEF, and the sentiment is from the oldie and favorite Perfectly Penned stamp set.

You are having a what???

I am not sure about you, but I am truly enjoying my Octomber. Yeah, you read it, it is my October-December month. It is absolutely lovely and the temperatures are still climbing. This morning it was a lovely and the day was sunny and warm. I went out wearing just a warm sweater. Yeah, not coats, gloves, hats, etc...

So, how about some flowers to top this lovely day/month? The Dostamper Stars challenge 160 gave a sketch with what looks like a sun to me, then I added the flowers! The English Garden dsp gave me most of the elements for the card, which turned out great.  I would send this card as a thank you card, a birthday card, or just a any/no occasion card. It is sure to bring a smile and a dose of good weather to anyone.

Hello my lovely readers. I am so happy to be back on the craft room and be able to share some fun cards with you.

Today I have worked on a more fresh looking card, as our weather remains rather friendly and wonderful for December. The sketch is from the SSSC 298, which I worked on using the Flower Patch stamp set and its framelits for all the images and sentiment. Now, notice that the largest flower I simply stamped on the Very Vanilla layers, but the other flowers I cut to give dimension. The leaves were also stamped on the layer and to get them to be "behind" the flower, I just cut the flower form a scrap piece of paper and cover the stamped flower. Then I stamped it. I love to do that as I want to give the idea of layers. Simple, effective, and awesome.

Hello Baby

This past two weeks were all too busy and honestly I could use two extra days to get all of it done. Nothing like having some extra time to play at my craft room to start a new week.

It has been a while since I made some baby cards, as I was in need of birthday cards for the past two months. I am entering today's card on the Mojo Monday challenge 427. I used the Sweet Lil' Thing dsp for the layer and also for the square images. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, which was cut using the Lots of Labels framelits and to top it all off, I added the luscious satin ribbon and bow. I love that little fox and the turtle from the DSP and the starts and snoozing images just send off a wish for a sweet baby.

Just celebrate. Anything. Everything

I am relieved that finally my computer has come to terms and decide to be nice again. I almost canceled it's Christmas gift!

Let's then go back to normal posts and share some beautiful work. Thanksgiving was busy and we went to visit my in-laws in Indiana,leaving me little time to play in my craft room. Now, I am back and the Dostamper Stars challenge 159 has a wonderful color combination that was rather pleasing to the eye to work on. The Everything Eleanor stamp set gave me the center image, which I embellished with the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack.  As you know I have a crazy passion for ribbons, and this one in Mossy Meadow makes such a beautiful bow that I could not resist. The sides are adorned with Beach House washi tape, which is a nice discreet touch, and I add a center panel with a DSP. A card for any and all occasions, that is sure to please.
