Pouring Elegance and Simplicity.

The cold has returned fast and furious and it will last for few days still. Certainly I was not looking forward to that and was getting ready to start my seeds. I guess I will put that on hold for now.

I did, however, get some work done in my craft area. I clean up my cabinets, got rid of a lot of stuff that I was keeping for no reason and have kindly requested my husband for a new shelf in the cabinet. I also made some cards and prepared one for CCMC 393 and given the nature of the sketch, I went to the safer route and kept my card extremely clean. I was considering adding a sentiment, but my daughter said, "oh, what a beautiful wedding card" that was enough for me no to put a sentiment. I did use Shimmery White card stock, but I treated it to a vanilla finish with the Shimmer Smooch Spray. The diagonal lines were easily done with the Diagonal Plate for the Score Board and I did them 2" apart. I love the touch of the bold Gold Ribbon and the final touch of the bow. A perfect card for a perfect wedding.

Fancy, fancy



Last day of 2015 and I hope you have amassed a large amount of wonderful memories this year. Better yet, I hope you continue to do so for many years to come.

One of the biggest memories in a person's life is their wedding day. I am sure someone will be getting married on the last day of the year and I made this card, which is for the Dostamper Stars challenge 162, with that in mind. The colors are perfect for a formal and memorable party, and how can one go wrong with the new Bloomin' Heart thinlits? This is absolutely gorgeous and I know it will get mileage with me. The sentiment is also new, from the Rose Wonder stamp set and I heat embossed it in black. I cut it with the Circle Card Thinlits, which was a perfect fit. The small flowers are part of the Bloomin' Hearts thinlits and a perfect fit, of course. The background is from the Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.  A bit of bling to bring it all home

Does that ring a bell?

I certainly get a wonderful feeling each and every time I get commissioned to do a work. I get to know the recipients of my work, even without ever meeting them. It is rather gratifying to hear stories and it is the best source of inspiration for my work.

Today's card is a commissioned card. The recipient is an elderly lady that has served in the Handbell choir of a local church and whom will soon retire. I wanted to keep the card simple, but I also want to keep it to the musical theme. The background paper is from the retired Modern Medley DSP and was perfect for this card. The sentiment is from the Let your Hair Down hostess stamp set. The handbell itself was easily done using the Oval Framelit Collections. I was not able to pass on a bow, so a perfect one was put in place and easily done with My Bow Maker
I wish that lovely lady a wonderful day when they give her the card and I sure hope that she enjoys the card as much as I enjoyed making it.

Love is in the air.... always!

First week of the year? Well, then we continue with the greetings: Happy New Year!

I have been putting off making a shaker card for one reason or another. However, today is the day. Besides using a new product, I also used e technique new to me. That's a good way to start the new year, isn't it?

I prepare this card to enter at the Splicoaster Stampers Challenge WT512. I love it how they have a challenge each day of the week. The new item is the Heart Border Punch and I created a frame with it so to have the sentiment showing through the shaker window. The little hearts punched out were enough to go into the window and place some on the side. Love it! No pun intended.

Happy New Yar!

Happy, very happy New Year to all of us! I wish that 2015 bestow upon all of us health, happiness, love, friends, and prosperity!

So, let's celebrate with the first card of the year, and what better way to get started with a great challenge from Dostamper Stars 113? I kept the card very simple and clean, with a touch of class from the Gold ribbon.  The sentiment is from Seasonal Sayings a stamp set now retired, but I kept it on my shelf and reach for it every once in a while. Now, let's join in a wave of positive thoughts and hopes that 2015 will bring much needed peace all around the globe and each and everyone one of us will do our part into bringing a bit of peace into our own world. Celebrate!
