A bit of this, and a bit of that.

What has happened to May? It is half way done with and Spring is showing off its best colors all around us. The trees are a stunning sight with blooms in white, pink, purple, and yellow. I truly appreciate seeing the show nature is putting out for us.

I have been doing some cleaning up and checking my supplies in preparation to the new catalog and new product. I like to go over my stash of paper and tend to go crazy making bunches of cards using my left over stashes. The Sweet Sorbet DSP from 2014 Sale-A-Bration is one of those that I have enjoyed it a lot and saved some for later. Well, later is now and I used the sketch from CCMC 355 for this card. I also used the sentiment from a retired set, the Delightful Dozen and the ribbon is retired too. So, all around is a card featuring retired products that look very fresh and refreshing.

Hi mom!


We knew these beautiful colors were going to wave good bye, but it is hard to see them go as they are such a pretty bunch. I have stocked up and plan on continue to use them for some time.

Every year when the Retiring list comes out, I revisit some old favorites. This time I picked up the Delightful Dozen for the sentiment and the Scalloped Dotted Border punch. Those are favorites of mine and I am having a hard time parting with them. Another one taking leave is the I Like You hostess set, but look at that potential! For a bit of texture, how about the lovely Spring Flowers TIEF? A mother deserves all that and much more. A Job Well done! Cogratulations



What? Who? Well, I want to congratulate all the men out there that day in and day out are doing a fantastic job in raising a family, being an ideal example to their children, and making the world around us a better place.

It is not Monday, but it is not too late to enter the Mojo Monday Challenge 358. I went for a masculine card as I appear to never have them at hand. A congratulations card was in order as my husband is always helping me out and being so supportive I figure he deserved a card!
The DSP is from last year Sweater Weather. I still have a few pieces left and I like this paper a lot as it is easy to put a masculine card together in no time.

The Lovely As A Tree stamp set is beautiful and a classic. The sentiment is from the retired Delightful Dozen.

Delightful Dozen Birthday!

Some stamps sets are so practical that I can see that they will stay with me long after they have been set into retirement. Delightful Dozen is one of them. I keep on reaching for it and today was one of these days. I started with the sketch from Dostamper Stars challenge 091 and it seems so festive and fun that in my eye it was perfect for a masculine birthday card.

The Flashback DSP has some fun and colorful print and "texture". I love it and with the current DSP sale you too can have this one and all the others DSP from the 2014/15 catalog.

PPA 208 - Papillon Potpourri

Another week and another chance to join the Pals Paper Arts challenge. This week it is a sketch, and honestly I love those. I am in need of some Get Well cards, and use this opportunity to stock up on them. Butterflies give me a general peaceful feeling, and therefore I selected the Papillon Potpourri for today's card.


Tips and Tricks:
  • I used the 1" square punch to cut the banner tail, as I wanted them at a certainly length and width.
  • Giving texture to a layer adds a lot of interest to the card without much work. Give it a try!

A fast week this has been but a very wonderful one. My mother is visiting with us for the month and we are happy to have her here. This week's challenge at Dostamper Stars is a color challenge that brought us some much needed bright color.
