Ciao!

CCMC363

Adulthood life is not easy, but it sure is wonderful The people we meet, the responsibilities that brings, the freedoms, and all the lessons we learn along the way. Nothing beats meeting people. Some will be greatly missed, other will soon be forgotten. Having a full time job was always a joy and I truly enjoyed my last two full time job: one in the hospitality industry and the other as a freelancer interpreter. In both I met plenty of people and enjoyed every thing about it all.

But people also move one. Today's card is to celebrate the work life of adulthood. We all are going to retire sooner or later. Some co-workers will be missed others, not so much. Well, let's concentrate on the first category and have this card to them. The inspiration for it came from the CCMC 363, and in addition to some retired DSP, I used the Bordering Blooms stamp set to create the vine on the side panel. The punched out flowers are from the Flower Shop stamp set, and the sentiment is from the lovely Wild About Flower stamp set, which were punched out with the Label Bracket punch.  The center of the flowers just need an added something, and for that the Boho Blossom punch worked perfectly well.

Let's all enjoy the people in our lives and let them know how much they are appreciated.

Have a beautiful week. Be well

Oh! All the colors!

While I like to think of myself as a colorful person, I suffer from chronic case of mixing or combining colors. There has been endless cases of color combo challenges that cause me severe dread until I tried. I was pleasantly surprised as to how well certainly colors go together.

The New In-colors have been in my house for a bit already, but I have not solicited from them much until today, and I must say that I love them all. I used the RetroSketch challenge 171 to create today's card and wanted to use all the new colors. I used the Bordering Blooms stamp set in Watermelon Wonder, then the  Birthday Blossoms both in Delightful Dijon and Cucumber Crush. Tip Top Taupe was used for the embossed Elegant Dots background and the Mint Macaroon served as the layer for the sentiment. Despite of the amount of colors used, I like the turn out. Well, there you have it, a cure for the most chronic of color cases. Now, get the colors out and play. Thank you for visiting today and have a colorful day.

Cool colors, cool weather....

It is hump day and I am honestly glad to see the end of the week approaching. The week itself has not been bad so far, but the weather certainly can use a mood pill to see if it gets its act together. We need sunshine and we need warmth. Now. Please.

Playing with cool colors and feeling the cool air is fine, except that we are in May already. The color combination, however, from The paper Players challenge 244 is absolutely beautiful and I felt inspired to try something different withe lovely Lost Lagoon Ribbon. I used a small bit of the Flower Pot DSP, a bit of texture on the background, the Creative Elements for the central image, Bordering Blooms to guide my ribbon, and this card turned out stunning. The delicate bow was made using My Bow Maker, which is my very best tool and is always at my reach.
Hope you will be inspired by today's card and also by browsing my blog and find your favorites. Thank you for visiting today and for your love.

Purple calm.

 PPA224 Oct 16

Clean and Simple is the type of card that does me well. However, I am not very good at making a one layer card, so I must work hard to get a clean looking card without going too crazy on the layers.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, ppa, pleasant poppies, bordering blooms, su

The answer for this riddle for me is to keep the colors to a minimum, and almost monochromatic. In today's card I decided on the purple hue, using Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum, and Elegant Eggplant. The sketch came from the Pals Paper Players challenge 224. The Bordering Blooms had the right pattern that I was looking for and the Pleasant Poppies finished it all up with a perfect elegance.

Congratulations!

 09-25

Well, other than the announcement for the Blog Candy winner, here is Congratulations card I prepare to celebrate that.

Miriam Castanho Bollinger, #mstampinwithyou, stampin up, demonstrator, ppa 221, lullaby dsp, bordering blooms, world of dreams, bitty banners, postage stamp punch, itty bitty banners, su

I truly love the World of Dreams stamp set! It was used here for the entry on the Pals Paper Arts challenge 221. The Bordering Blooms stamp set was also called into action to add this special little detail to the card. So, did you like it?

Tips & Tricks:
  • To get the squares, I stamped the image in a piece of Whisper White and then just punched the images out. The Postage Stamp punch was handy to give a delicate background.

And Yet another Happy Day!

Happy Day indeed! We are finally catching a break with my baby's skin condition and that is making all of us happy. To celebrate, I visited the Try Stampin' on Tuesday to check out what challenge they had going on and the sketch was just right. Then I was off to look for some colors and found the color combo from ColourQ challenge was happy and fresh.  From there it was easy to pick the Smile sentiment from the Happy Day stamp set and get the card completed!

Have you had a chance to see the new Design Series Papers yet? Oh my, they are beautiful. Beside they are now on a fantastic sale that you do not want to miss it. Head over to my store to see it all!
Tips and Tricks:
  • The DSP used on the top is so beautiful. The photo does not do justice. I cut a trip 1" wide, and layered on Calypso Coral card stock that has been cut using the Scallop edge border punch.
  • For the sentiment, I stamped on Whisper White and then layered on Basic Black which was cut with the Chalk Talk and then split in half.
  • The beautiful bow was easily done using my Bow Maker.
