RS 121 - Label Something - A Milestone is reached!!!



Wow, I can hardly believe that here I am typing my 200th post. This is thank to you that have supported me along the journey. I look forward to the next 200th, 500th, 1000th post and many more! So, let's celebrate and have a Birthday card using Retro Sketch challenge as my canvas. The colors are bright and happy, and the all new Tangelo Twist takes the center stage. The sentiment is from Label Something stamp set; the Decorative dots tief layer add to the flair.

Tips and Tricks:
  • The Tangelo Twist piece was first adhered to the Crumb Cake and then they were both embossed. The Chocolate Chip layer behind the sentiment was embossed using to continue the strips from the dsp layer.
  • The beautiful bow was made using My Bow Maker. I love how soft and easy to work with is this ribbon!

TST 173 - Embellished Events



I know, I know, I am late, but life got on the way and I was not able to stamp on Tuesday and on most days of last week. Wedding cards are one of those that appear to follow a particular set of colors, and since I like to step out of the comfort zone I used non-traditional colors on today's card for the Try Stampin' on Tuesday challenge. The traditional part of my card is the bells from the Embellished Events stamp set.


Tips and Tricks:
  • I turned the sketch around to make a taller card, as I thought with this would better for the center piece I choose to use.
  • The Chocolate Chip layer behind the sentiment was embossed using to continue the strips from the dsp layer.
  • The bells were stamped using Lost Lagoon and then heat embossed using clear embossing powder.
  • The beautiful bow was made using My Bow Maker. I love how soft and easy to work with is this ribbon!

PPA 209 - Let Your Hair Down

When new catalogs come out, I love to see the hostess stamp sets. Why, well because they are just wonderful and the 2014-2015 catalog did not disappoint. Let your Hair Down caught my eye immediately and it went right away to my wish list! Today's card is for the Pals Paper Arts challenge and I elected the grateful stamp from the Let your Hair Down set because as I approach my 200th blog post I feel very grateful to all of you that take the time to visit, to comment, to send me e-mails,a nd to all of you that have supported me along the way. Thank you.


Tips and Tricks:
  • The center piece can be tricky to arrive at the correct size. As a rule of thumb, I reduce the side by 1-1/2" or so. In this card the center panel measures 4-1/4" x 3". The DSP layer is 1/8" smaller than the Red Rose layer.

FMS 142 - Everything Eleanor


This simple card can deliver a heart warming Anniversary message. The stamp from Everything Eleanor is so beautiful, flowing, and gentle that it make me think of my husband.  The layout was inspired by this week's Freshly Made Sketches.

 

Tips and Tricks:
  • Everything Eleanor was stamped multiple times to make the background on the Old Olive.
  • The corners can easily be rounded using the Envelope Punch board. Love that!
