Greetings my dear friends and readers. Another beautiful day around here, but the temperatures drop substantially from what we enjoyed last week. It is going to go up, but we did not care much for the drop. Nonetheless, there are plenty of beauty around and colors and birds singing and all the wonderful and renewed life that Spring brings forth.
Today I got greed and made two cards using the color inspiration from Dostamper Stars 184. First I want a fun card with an all occasions feel to it. For that I used the Everything Eleanor at the top panel, which was heat embossed with the Melon Mambo Embossin' Powder and the same was done for the sentiment from Party Pants stamp set from Sale-A-Bration and the flowers from Crazy About You stamp set. I added a bit of flair to them using the Basic Black marker and I like the looks it gave.
For this card I kept it formal, as it is to be given to a piano accompanist. Considering that she is not a very flowery person, I kept it as subtle as possible, but that piano required a bit of something. The tulips from the Basic Backyard made a perfect choice for the pop of color and I hand colored them with the Blender Pen.This is not a very difficult card, but the "keys" must all be adhered individually, which take a bit of time. The keys were cut using the Word Window. The Basic Gray panel is embossed using the Stylish Stripes, the sentiment is from Perfectly Penned, which I heat embossed in Black. The panel for the top I hand cut. I made a template, well, sort of, and then cut the black panel. I thought it turned out very well considering the free hand on that. I love how this card turned out.
