A Meadow Birthday

Hello lovely people. I took the weekend off to get some other stuff done and also because I did not have any time left to myself. Sunday I was able to catch a break, enjoy a bit of sunshine weather and play.

I live close to a nature preserve that is mostly wet lands and during the summer is beautiful and lush. The water there is now flowing and we can spot some life happening there. I just do not enjoy having the ducks came visit the pool... oh well. Anyway, I am always short on masculine cards, so in honor of the wet lands I decided on a masculine birthday card that feature a scenery. I recently did one card similar but used the Lovely as a Tree stamp set. This one I reached for the Serene Silhouette stamp set, while the sentiment is from Morning Meadow.  The color combo from the Create with Connie and Mary challenge 352 were perfect and gave me the initial inspiration for a scenery card. I honestly am having fun making scenery card and can see myself doing many more in the near future. Have you ever done any? It is fun and you must try. Got ahead, you will get hooked too.

SSSC 225 - Six-sided Sampler



We went for a wild ride last night when storms hit us so hard that it was hurricane like. We lost internet and cable connection and I was not able to get my posts ready. Some of our neighbors are still without power. I hope people did not get hurt and all is well.
The Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge had another cute sketch and I went with the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set for today's card.


Tips and Tricks:
  • To get the Always Artichoke punched at even spaces, I punched the image 3 times out of regular office paper and with a bit of adhesive placed them on the rectangular piece. I then punch each piece out of the Always Artichoke layer using the white images as a guide. Perfect placing!
  • The sentiment was stamped on a strip of Whisper White and the edges were cut with the 1/2" circle punch.
  • I adhered the sentiment to the Always Artichoke piece before adhering it to the card.

Dostamper Stars 078, FSM 132 - Morning Meadow

Greetings!

I am longing for flowers to bloom and to open my window to fell a wonderfully warm breeze to come through. However, Spring is hard to sprung in WI this year. Since there is no Spring, I sprung into my craft room to make something to remind me of Spring. I pulled out the Morning Meadow stamp set and went on to create this card for the Dostamper Stars and Freshly Made Sketches challenges. The color combo that Dostamper Stars choose was a challenge on itself... or so I thought. Once I pulled the colors out, I quickly notice that they go very well together. I love to be surprised like that. How about you?

SSSC 212 - Morning Meadow

Despite of a long, weary week, we had a Sunday worthy of celebration as our daughter had her Festival Concert. It was beautiful and we had a great time. I did have some time in the morning to check out some of my favorite challenge sites and loved the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. I decided that I could spare a moment to put a card together for the challenge and I loved how the Morning Meadow stamp set gave me all the components to make this card. Dynamic Duos 87, RetroSketch 99 - Morning Meadow

It is cold outside! This year winter came fast, fierce, and furious here is Wisconsin. I hope some of you are enjoying better weather. However, this weather gives me the perfect opportunity to get in my craft room and play a bit. New challenges were posted at the Dynamic Duos as well as the Retro Sketch. With nowhere to go and nothing else to do, let's play! I used the Morning Meadow stamp set  along with Label Something for the sentiment. The color combo is a beautiful one too.
