MIx, match, be Happy.

Hello My dear friends and readers,


I am playing a lot with all the new goodies from the 2016-2017 Catalog. Oh my, is the catalog loaded with wonderful supplies? I am loving it all a lot and had a hard time resisting all the new items. I hope you have had the chance to check it out and are enjoying it just as much as I am.

Look at this combination of stamp sets. Is it beautiful or what?  I used the Flower Patch stamp set and its matching framelits for the top left, however the leaves are from the new Flourish Thinlits, which is beyond beautiful. The ferns is from the Butterfly Basics, and the other images, including the edging is from the new Touches of Texture. I absolutely love this set and how flexible it is. The little dragonfly and bee are adorable and all the "splashes" and edges are lovely. I am sure you would love it too.

The snow did come back, but it was not as bad as predicted, thankfully. It is melting slowly as we can feel the sun is shining stronger and brighter now.

For that I am thankful and I am glad that the forecast for the coming week is even better. I am excited to spend time outside and start doing some work in my garden. Until then. I am working on my cards and projects for clubs and classes. Today's card is for the Pals Paper Arts challenge 290. I used the Botanical Builder Framelits dies for the flowers but the stems are from the Bloomin' Birthday stamp set. The sentiment is from the retired Lots of Thanks and I used the also retired Artisan Label Punch layered on the Bracket Label Punch. The center of the flowers are candy dots, which is so easy and wonderful to use, and a small bow finalize the looks of this card. Neat, eh?

I used the Flashback DSP as I love those colors, the prefect sentiment is from the Something to Say and the Flower Patch stamp set has the funky flowers that I needed. Perfect!

Blooming beautiful!


 

I have these plants growing in my compost pile that I honestly have no idea what they are. They yield some sort of squash looking fruits, but they are not squash. However, besides bearing fruits, they, of course, give out beautiful and bright flowers. As I sit at my kitchen table I can see them, and know that in due time that sight will be replaced. Allow me to celebrate that sight as long as I can.

Yes, even a compost pile can be a wonderful source of inspiration. Combined with the Mojo Monday challenge 361, this card resulted in a striking and yet peaceful card. Don't you think?

Tips & Tricks:
  • The Flower Patch stamp set is very unique and beautiful. It does have a set of matching framelits, however the small flower in the center does not have a matching framelit. I cut it by hand as I wanted to add a bit of dimension to the flower.
  • I like the Chevron ribbons as anchors any sketch. It is even ideal for ribbon making, despite of its width.
