Greeting the colors and the season.

Our fall was a bit on the warmer side and I am very thankful for that. The trees gave out an spectacular sight, but the wind was too fierce and blew the leaves off all too soon. Nonetheless, we had opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the season, while at a pleasant temperature.

The Paper Players challenge 269 is perfect and we all can get free inspiration by simply looking out of the window. For today's card I selected the Lovely as a Tree for the leave itself and also got a bit of the Stippled Blossom retired stamp set for a bit more of details, and the Seasonal Sayings gave the charming sentiment. This is an easy layering card that I kept clean and simple. I did color the leaves with the   pen, making sure to add a bit of Crushed Curry and a bit of Tangelo Twist to each leave, which were first stamped in Soft Suede. I like the effect of multi color in the leaves!

It is summer!

Did you do anything special for the summer solstice? As much as I would loved to have done something special, the weekend was too busy to do more. Besides Father's day, my husband and I celebrated out 18th anniversary and on Saturday I was at the Farmer's Market. The weather was extremely beautiful, so we all spent most of the day outdoors. I did not even go anywhere near my craft room.

But I could no longer resist the call coming from my craft room and went there, saw the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 274 and immediately made this card. Very simple but with such a special touch of summer and warmth. The DSP is from the now retired Gold Soiree and the Butterfly Basics stamp set was used for both the flower and the butterfly. I used the blender pen to color the flower and note that I placed a punched Garden Green butterfly behind each of the stamped ones to give a bit of depth. A touch of ribbon and a marvelous bow using My Bow Maker and this card was completed.

How many All Occasions card will I need this year? Well, I do not know yet, but I may as well get a head start.

The color combo for the Dostamper Stars challenge 117 is so perfect and easy to pair up. The Butterfly Basics stamp set is so pretty and so great to color. I pulled out my Blender Pens and went to town coloring. I cut the shape using the Floral Frames Collection, which I have not used in a while. I am glad I did as I truly liked how it turned out. I can already think of at least 2 people that would certainly appreciate receiving this card, but for now I will let it stay on my desk so I can admire it for a bit longer!
