Christmas count down 4 of 8 - Christmas Collections & Washi Tape

Wow, the season is moving along quickly and here we are for another Christmas card from my buffet class. I have been experimenting with washi tape and I am afraid I can easily get addicted to them. Practical, beautiful, easy to use, they have it all.  They also worked nicely with the new stripes embossing folder. The ornament added the final touch. I hope you will enjoy this card. Punch Art - Paper Players #173 - Sketched Birthday

This has been a busy and cold weekend. Temperatures have plummeted around here and it is feeling rather too cold for November. Thankfully we have paper to play with! The Paper Players challenge this week called for a card made in any shape. I chose to make an oval card using the Oval collections framelit. Since this was for a little girl's birthday, I decided to go with  punch art idea and made a friendly little clown using scraps that I have been hoarding. Christmas count down 2 of 8! - SUO Challenge #84 - Festive Flurry Bundle

Seasons Greetings everyone!

As promised, I am back with another Christmas project. This is one of the cards that I prepared for the ladies that attended my Christmas card buffet class. I like to step away from the traditional colors of Christmas and try something different. While not a fan of snow, I love the looks of snow flakes in craft projects. The new Festive Flurry Bundle, a touch of silver ribbon, night of navy, white, and glimmer paper were the perfect ingredients for this recipe. Warmth & Wonder - DSC #062

 

Thursday easily became a favorite day of the week for me. Why? Well, because it is time to play with Dawn Olchefske! Today's challenge I interpreted as a choice of colors or theme or both. Well, I chose both! The Seasons of Style DSP is beautiful and the colors speak well to me. The bird from the stamp set Warmth and Wonder is marvelous and I could not resist heat embossing it in Cherry Cobbler! So, here is my creation for today. I can hardly believe that we are almost done with November. It seems to me that once we enter October, for some reason time just flies and then is Christmas! PPA #179 - Lots of Thanks

 

For a long time I had looked and admired the projects posted on the Pals Paper Players Challenges. This time, I decided to enter the challenge myself. I put together this simple card using the challenge colors: Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry, and Rich Razzleberry. Since one can never have enough thank you cards at hand, I went with the Lots of Thanks stamp set. A bit of flower always adds a nice touch, and then a card is born!

A blanket Drive

I was born and raised in Brazil. Coming from Brazil to live in Wisconsin is a rather harsh way to adapt to extreme change. I, for one, am always cold and winters are way too long for me. However, I have plenty to be thankful for as I have a house to shelter me and my family from the brutal cold. We know that not all people share this same fortune. So a friend of mine, put together a Blanket drive and the Brazilians went on to collect blankets to donate to the homeless and local shelters. She also asked if I could put together a card to be given to the shelter. So, here is the card I made. I used the Postage stamp punch to cut all the pieces of the "quilt". After I have them all in place, I ran the finished piece through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Texture Folder to give just that quilt touch. I used the MDS software to print the sentiment and cut it with the Labels Collection Famelit. I hope that the recipients of the blankets can find some comfort on the warmth of my friend's heart and on the donated blankets. I also wish that they never loose hope. Let's us all be thankful for all the blessings in our lives.

Punch Art - DSC #061

Ahhh! The glory of punches! They are my absolutely favorite tool! Very practical to use on a daily basis, they allow you to come up with all sorts of things. So, I decide to have my club ladies have their go at a punch art and made this card for them to work. Using the sketch from Challenge DSC #061, the cute Angry Bird got a perfect picture frame. Give it a try. Get your punches out and you never know what you will come up with!

Hello everyone,

Fall appears to be done with here in Wisconsin as we are having below average temperatures already! We even got a bit of snow on Monday!! Oh no, this winter looks like is coming early and fiercer than ever!
On the bright side, I am able to spend more time in my craft area and I am loving it. This week, I worked on the Dynamic Duos challenge using Always Artichoke and Crumb cake colors. I truly like the elegance of these colors together! I have been playing a lot with my new Envelope Punch Board and used it to make this cute file folder card.
