Am I out yet?

It has been an eternity since I posted anything. My life is consumed by the renovation of our kitchen, but, I must say, we are very happy as it is turning out. We have the kitchen fully functional now, but there are lots of details to finish up. Our dining room is getting a fresh coat of paint and then we need to tidy things up. My mother has also decided to come visit us at the end of the month, so I have a big incentive to finish it all up.

I have snicked around to get some "me" time in my craft room and it felt so wonderful to have that time to create. Today I prepared a card for Dostamper Stars 243 and I used the Coffee Break DSP for the background and for the image I use the Jar of Love stamp set and matching framelit. The card has a neutral feel to it, so it can easily be used for a male friend too. I was about to add some rhinestone and flowers, but liked the more organic nature of the card, so I left it alone.

Life will soon resume to normal. I will have my mother visiting, we will start school, the renovation will be completely done, and I will be spending more time with you too. Until then, know that I have appreciated your support, friendship, and understanding. Be well

Hi Honey.

Dear Friends & Readers,

We are making good progress with our kitchen project and on Tuesday I was able to get our sunroom in order and organized a bit to serve as our kitchen, well, a cooking and eating area. This is our school room, so we are sharing the space with books, violins, and now a hot plate. Life is beautiful I am excite for our project and soon all will be completed.

I am finding some time to escape the project and do a bit of crafting. Today I worked on a card using Dostamper Stars 239 as the inspiration. I am positive that once you have tried the new Hexagon DTIEF you will be amazed on how well it works and how beautiful the texture is. I love it and used it today for my card. The foliage is from Jar of Love stamp set, the little flowers from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set, and the bee from the lovely Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and matching framelit. Now, for the hives, I used a piece of Hello Honey cardstock and after I run it through the Big Shot, I cut using the texture as a guide. Super easy and cute. I made a smaller version to use as a gift note enclosure. Love those too!

Colorful Bliss

Oh, all the colors that bring so much meaning to my life, have been all around us. The rain has been coming down for several days, and so has the temperatures. Nonetheless, the flowers hear the calling and are blooming. I love them all.

Since it has been hard to work in the garden, I have been doing some work indoors, purging, organizing, and getting ready for the next school year. But, I keep looking out and enjoying the beauty, and then I go and crate some beautiful cards that honor nature. Today's card uses the Dostamper Stars 232 for inspiration and how can these colors go wrong together? I used the Falling Flowers stamp set for the main image on the background and the Jar of Love gave the flowers to adorn the image. On the Old Olive panel I stamped an image from the Floral Phrase to add a delicate touch. I had to stamp the image 2 times to cover the length of the paper, but that is easy to do. I used Old Olive ink so the detail would not overpower the front panel.
